Not until Monday morning. I think I'm going to get out of here for a while tonight and go have a drink or something with my sister.

QUOTE]

I so feel for you. My MIL was in town this week but she didn't stay with us, thankfully! She can be very demanding like: "What's that you are (eating, drinking, doing, etc.) It looks good...." And then we feel like we have to wait on her which is exactly what she wants. Drives me nuts.

When my mom visits she just helps herself to whatever she wants and wouldn't dream of asking someone to wait on her. She also plays with my kids, which MIL does not. I willl never understand that woman....:sad2:

 No one can stay with us!! We have two extra bedrooms, one is DH's "office"-I use quotes because there is so much crap in there he can't even walk into it. He uses the dining room table as his office. The other one actually has a bed, but it is so stuffed with all the crap DH pulled out of his "office" when he was going to "clean" it and I had to put it in there for DS8's birthday party. It's still there 2 weeks later. The nearest hotel is 8 miles away and is in Downtown Savannah, about $250/night...:rotfl: I don't like visitors...it means I have to clean..

I'm going to pick up pizza....easy and meat free.

OK gang, off to home...have to stop at the bank and the pizza parlor on the way home. Then we have to finish the Bunnymobile.

Be good (insert shaking finger smilie here)

here ya go!

I have given up on the Taco Bell drive thru. Everytime I go there is always 4 people in front of me and they always spend at least 5 min at the window. Just pay, take your food people and GET OUT OF MY WAY...I am hungry.

That's me and my kids eating our food so we can be sure they got the order right!

Love the prices at the commissary. I doubt I would be able to get everything I do for 2 weeks at a time for the same price out in town. Of course with the kids growing as fast as they are along with the growing appetites I probably will never see my grocery bills this low again :lmao:

Yes, mine are 13 & 10 and both are competitve swimmers so they need a lot of fuel which these days is costing me mega $$$! We go thru 4-6 gallons of milk a week and a huge amt. of produce. Some things I don't buy on base because they are cheaper at WalMart or SuperTarget, so I go there in between Comm. trips.

OK, I hate to ask this because I don't "know" you but is there any chance you could be pregnant  :scared1:

OH HE** NO!!!!! That being said...single...no BF...so none of the hanky panky going on. If I am pregnant you might as well make me a saint and call my kid Jesus.

(I hope no one is offended by the Jesus comment.

My this thread has taken an interesting turn....:rotfl: :lmao:

That would be me! I wish I could drink it all day, I know it would make a world of difference in my health and skin. I just can't remember to do it, plus I don't like to pee all day..

I need to be drinking a lot of water today. I gave blood around 11:00. I was due for it anyway, but was waiting to get unsick. Then last night...we felt the house shake and heard a BOOM!! Later we found out that a sugar refinery about 20 miles away exploded...spontaeous combustion in one of the silos..(I didn't know that sugar dust was combustible!) Sent about 40 people to the hospitals, some had to be lifted out to burn centers. So this morning they were begging for blood..I was out that way, so I went in and did my little duty. and just to make sure I wasn't being PERFECT...I took TWO bags of cookies, and TWO bags of the roasted peanuts donated by a restaurant.

So anyway, the last time I gave blood, I forgot to keep drinking water all day, plus that night I had myself a little cocktail. I dozed off, and when I woke up and got up from the chair, I almost passed out. DH was out of town, and the boys were asleep. Kinda scared me...

So I guess I'd better go get some water...no drinkypoo for me tonight...rats.

I heard about that on the news last night :sad2:

Good for you for donating your blood :thumbsup2
I had to have 3 units transfered into me after the emergency c-section to deliver #1DS and felt very greatful that there are people willing to do this for complete strangers.
I have only been able to donate once & that was when I was a senior in HS. DH & I are now unable to donate at all because of living in Italy in the 90's.

American Red Cross :
In-Depth Discussion of Variant Creutzfeld-Jacob Disease and Blood Donation
In some parts of the world, cattle can get an infectious, fatal brain disease called Mad Cow Disease. In these same locations, humans have started to get a new disease called variant Creutzfeld-Jacob Disease (vCJD) which is also a fatal brain disease. Scientists believe that vCJD is Mad Cow Disease that has somehow transferred to humans, possibly through the food chain.

There is now evidence from a small number of case reports involving patients and laboratory animal studies that vCJD can be transmitted through transfusion. There is no test for vCJD in humans that could be used to screen blood donors and to protect the blood supply. This means that blood programs must take special precautions to keep vCJD out of the blood supply by avoiding collections from those who have been where this disease is found.

At this time, the American Red Cross donor eligibility rules related to vCJD are as follows:

You are not eligible to donate if:

LUVMYTINK,

My aunt and uncle (retired army) cant give bc of their time in Wales and in Nigeria to the Red Cross. They can donate somewhere else thru the military I believe but more tests are run on their blood and I think sometimes only certain components are used.

I forgot all the details, my uncle was telling us one CHristmas party about it but it was awhile ago and I did have some cocktails so I am fuzzy on details:rotfl:

Thanks for giving blood

Just drink water chasers and hang out in the bedroom....I may have to have myself a little drinkypoo tonight.

Im happy to do it, it makes me feel good.:goodvibes.., I was feeling just a little relaxed watching Dr. Phil..then I got to thinking, "I could really milk this donation thing..DH knows what happened to me the last time.." Then I realized the only way dinner was going to happen was for me to either grill the skirt steak I had marinating or go buy a pizza. I already put off the steak yesterday, so I decided we'd better eat it. It was AWFUL!!! I made a terriyaki marinade which is usually very good, but the low sodium soy sauce I used was anything BUT...It was almost too salty to eat. DS's complained the entire meal, so I let them eat the mac and cheese and green beans. Then they had brownie batter bowls for dessert..(surely y'all can figure out this desert...I made brownies, they both got a bowl to lick..Voila! Dessert!)

Tomorrow we have to go to the scout masters house and build a boat...yes a boat. A regular sized boat.. Then they find some sucker to buy it and that is their fundraiser. They will also be working on their pinewood derby cars, too. I thought I would give the impressions of PERFECT mom and bring some brownies for a snack...without being asked. How perfect can I be???Ok they came from a box..add a couple of ingredients, stir 50 times..bake..

Kellie! What the heck is going on with you?? You have this dark cloud over you that just keeps pissing down rain! And you mange to still make jokes, that's what I love about you..I'm sorry about your DH's lay off, glad you still have your insurance. I know someone said this already, but my DH was fired long ago, and he ended up getting a much better job. Then he quit that job and got another better one. Then again. The he had enough of the corporate world, quit his job, took a professorship and cut his salary in half. Ok, ignore that last part...I know your DH's next job will be a better one!! Hang in there baby!

I'm thinking they're going to do something more sophisticated than the Bunnymobile (I really need to take a picture)

I did come back freshly tagged!:cool1:

I've only skimmed through the old pages...but you guys are so funny!

I definitely skimmed through this last page talking about giving blood. I get quesy thinking about it...blahhh

I had to get some tests done at the hospital, so my mom came along. I met up with her in the blood bank and got kicked out because they didn't want to have to deal with me fainting!

What stopped me was the post about brownies...yummmmm

Thanks..:lovestruc I know I read this every time I donate, but does this mean that YOU could have this disease w/o knowing it.. and w/o symptoms? Would if flare up at a later time? Scary stuff..those questions they ask me every time creep me out..."have you been with a prostitute or paid for sex in the past 6 months?"

Nat....that's a beautirific tag!

Welcome home! We have been behaving, except for Lintasare and a couple of others who keep running off to find trolls.

I am super queezy about needles. I haven't had a shot in over 20 years. (except lidacaine so I could get an IV that the nurse couldn't do right) But I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes with both DS's, so I would have blood drawn once a week, at least, for about 10 weeks. Plus testing my blood at home. So I got over being queezy about those kind of needles, I think when you get a shot the rough part is the actual medicine going in...ick...

The brownies are for the scouts tomorrow. I need to go downstairs and hide them before they are devoured tonight. If you want one, you'll have to come over to Mr. Dave's house!

I bet I forget them and leave them at home...:rotfl:

It's the girl's "Powderpuff Derby" pinewood race car....it's really a block of wood on wheels covered with cotton balls.

 That so sucks! My DH was laid off due to restructuring a couple of years ago. It's really hard, both for him and you.

BTW...DH found a higher paying job with better hours...when God closes a door, he opens a window.

We have been thru this before also so I am not to worried. It is true God will close a door to open a window. I think it was meant to happen right now.

Well you know they say it is always darkest before the dawn. I have this gut feeling this was really how it was ment to be. We will hang in there. His boss that had to lay him off was heartbroken because he knows I have been sick. But he called John about an hour ago to let him know that he got the ax also. He never show it coming.

So who tagged you?

hrh I heard about the sugar factory. Good for you giving blood.

does this mean that YOU could have this disease w/o knowing it.. and w/o symptoms? Would if flare up at a later time?

I don't know, never really thought of it. Another question for the dr.

Can I blame this for my forget fullness?
:lmao:

Well folks, I think it's time to start milking this thing. I hear the recliner calling my name..and I hear a voice saying, "Oh mah...I DO believe Ah am feeling a little faint..."
