As soon as I saw the report on CNN that Clinton voters in Mississippi overwhelming said they would not vote for Obama, the jig was up.

GOP - Gaming the vote

So let me see if I understand this: Hillary's numbers are inflated? In other words, she would've got even fewer votes if Republicans hadn't voted?

This just gets better and better.

You can't make this stuff up:

What parallel universe does this woman live in? More importantly, how stupid does she think we are? Does she actually think no one has been watching her and her campaign in the last few weeks?

I'm starting to believe she's either too cynical or too delusional to be anywhere near the Oval Office. Hillary Clinton is starting to look like Bush and Cheney all tied up in one neat little package.

It almost makes this Democrat cry when I think what this campaign could've been between Obama and Edwards or Obama and Dodd or Obama and anyone except Hillary Clinton. What a crying shame it has come to this.

She rejected the comment & wants to get back to the issues. What's the beef (unless you oppose the Texas Tech banner behind her.....which i do).

I could see BO stating the EXACT words if he was asked today.

Lord, i hope that BO's supporters keep complaining.....HC needs to catch up 700K. Ferraro's dumb comment resembles comments that "the only reason HC is a top tier candidate is because of her husband." Dumb comment, but nothing to continue to wring one's hands about on the second or third day.

On second thought continue shouting "racist" for the next week. It's giving the undecideds a warm fuzzy feeling. ;)

Someone is bound to dust off Ferraro's 20 years of public service & see if there's any there there.

Frankly, I couldn't care less what Hillary Clinton wants. Damned right she wants to "get back to the issues". Her slimeball campaign is biting her in the *** with black voters and lots of voters like me who just as soon spit in her eye as vote for her after the crap coming out of her mouth and her surrogate's mouths.

Poor Hillary. She got the campaign she wanted, so cry me a river.

I will not vote for Hillary Clinton. Some may have no problem with racist comments, but millions of Democrats do. Hillary Clinton made her bed. Now she can lie in it.

Regarding Ferraro, she's a horse's ***. Most people have enough sense to know when the hell to shut up, but not Gerri. She just keeps going and going and going.

Clinton could've have put an end to this yesterday by saying "thanks for your service, Gerri. Now go home." Didn't happen and it never will.

I'm a voter not a groupie. Hillary Clinton will not get my vote because she claims the "D" in front her name.

Time for Hillary to drop out. She's now further behind than she was March 3rd. How the hell is the party allowing her nonsense to continue?

I have no idea. I suspect Dean, along with the SD's, will step in well before PA.

It's time to send Hillary and her husband packing. They have truly made this campaign a nightmare for many Democrats.

She intends to compete for FL, MI, Penn, NC & the rest of the states for Democratic Voters. She has a 50/50 chance of winning the popular vote.

"The party" wants to see this play out....as do i.

Hillary "dropping out" is as funny as Obama "accepting" the veep (prior to the final primary). Isn't going to happen.

The Clinton campaign confirms Geraldine Ferraro has stepped down from her role on the finance commitee of Sen. Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign after making racially charged remarks about Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill.

This morning, Ferraro stood by her controversial comments.

"I am sorry that people think this was a racist comment," Ferraro said in an interview with ABC's Diane Sawyer on "Good Morning America" Wednesday.

She declined to apologize directly for the firestorm she created when she told a local California newspaper that "if Obama was a white man, he would not be in this position."

Ferraro, the 1984 Democratic vice presidential candidate, told Sawyer she was "absolutely not" sorry for what she said, suggesting she had tried to pay Obama a compliment.

She has a 50/50 chance of winning the popular vote.

Really? How many registered democrats are there in PA? The only state left where she has a clear advantage. The other remaining states seem to be a wash or favoring Obama. How is she going to clear enough from what's left to make up 939,375 votes?

I do not believe Obama was chosen to give the keynote address 4 years ago because of the color of his skin, but for the message he spoke. It was moving, it was outstanding, he was a two term senator in Illinois, he had gravitas to be giving such a speech. It was appreciated by many.

Sorry to burst the bubble, but you can't re-write history:

Stephanie Cutter, communications director for the Kerry campaign, explained why the campaign chose Mr. Obama, a former community organizer and Harvard-educated civil rights lawyer: ''We believe he represents the future of the party.''

Mr. Kerry's supporters say they hope the choice will also sway those who have accused Mr. Kerry of failing to include enough minorities in top campaign roles and, more broadly, of failing to excite black voters.

''This represents the Democrats reaching out,'' the Rev. Jesse Jackson said. ''It's important because the destiny of the Democratic Party is tied up, in some sense, in the growth of the minority base.''

Actually the math guys believe it's more like a 30% chance for the popular vote IF Michigan and Florida are brought back in & even less chance to catch up to the delegate count

I love these half-***-ed apologies. She didn't make a racist comment. We just got it wrong. We're too stupid to recognize racism when we see it.

And the resignation letter is a real doozy:

"Dear Hillary, I am stepping down from your finance committee so I can speak for myself and you can continue to speak for yourself about what's at stake in this campaign. The Obama campaign is attacking me to hurt you. I won't let that happen. Thank you for everything you've done and continue to do to make this a better world for my children and grandchildren. You have my deep admiration and respect, Gerry,"

Poor Gerri, poor Hillary, Obama is attacking them. Poor babies. Wah, wah, wah!

Give me break.

Hillary's pipe dream is over. She might have had a chance had she not take a nosedive into the mud. Her actions have caused more people to get disgusted with her and her brand of politics. She lost this lifelong Democrat and there are millions like me.

I agree that there's no way she catches up to BO in delegates. I also agree if MI & FL isn't included in the mix (but how can they not?) she wouldn't catch up in popular vote.

Regarding the math guys.....that ain't me ;).

I did pick HC to take NH & picked her popular vote %s within a point in both Ohio & Texas in the HC thread....no math, I just read, watch tv & go with my gut.

No one really knows how the four remaining biggest states will go (at least as far as the popular vote) because it sounds like 6 weeks will pass between now & then. We all know that's a lifetime. (& HC would need 600-800K in MI, FL & Penn to have a chance).

I know alot of folks are getting emotional (on both sides). I like both candidates so I frankly am enjoying the politics. (& fwiw, EITHER candidate will destroy McCain in the fall barring a catastrophe).

And this means what exactly? In '96, I believe, the republicans were pushing J.C. Watt, former congressman from Oklahoma, front and center at their convention as a measure to , umm, reach out to blacks.

It means exactly what I said. That it refutes what the poster I quoted was saying, which was:

I do not believe Obama was chosen to give the keynote address 4 years ago because of the color of his skin

He was chosen to give the speech because he was black. It's just a fact. And many of Obama's supporters vote for him because he's black and they want to elect the first black president. Just as many of Hilary's supporters vote for her because she's a woman and they want to elect the first woman president. It doesn't mean they don't have other qualities that those voters are attracted to, or that they aren't good politicians for reasons other than race or gender. But those are the facts. And it's not racist to point out the facts. This is simply identity politics - something the Democratic party has embraced and used to its' advantage, openly, for a long time. There are now some unfortunate consequences of that policy, that I don't think anybody saw coming, until a few short months ago.

It's 700K, & she could (possibly) make them up in FL, MI & Penn.

They'll be fighting for every popular vote.

Just watched Obermeyer.....Dude sure gets emotional. Is he auditioning for Masterpiece Theatre?
