Let's not forget the Obama supporters that are out there spinning in the best Karl Rove tradition.

Me too, which is why I added her sign to my signature. Would these Obama supporters that are refusing to vote for Hillary if she wins really like to hand the election to a Republican who will likely spend his time in office following the GW Bush script??

I think alot of them would either sit the election out or vote for the Independent. Even some I suppose would vote Rep.

Some Obama supporters, on here and in real life, talk very poorly of Hillary. That she would be the worse President (like anything can be worse the Georgie Boy)

When you look at the issues, Hillary and Obama are almost the same. Some slight differences, but mostly they feel the same about the issues.

I have asked people in real life how come they would not vote for Hillary if she gets the nom and the answers I get is because she is a b**ch or they don't want another Clinton in office.
OK, I can understand wanting someone without the name of Clinton (or Bush for that matter) but so you don't vote for someone because of their last name :confused3
What about the issues?

Seriously if Clinton and Obama are so similar in their views that I don't know how people can support one and not vote for the other if their first choice doesn't get the nom.
Sure, I am a Clinton supporter and I am a little unsure about Obama's leadership ability BUT I would vote for him if he gets the nom.

Us Dems have to stick together whether it is Clinton or Obama on the ticket in November or we will have another 4 years of a Rep President! :scared1:

I know many Obama supporters, myself included, that would be perfectly ok with supporting Clinton if she gets the nod.
Then you have Clinton supporters like my mother, who would pick McCain over Obama.

I wonder if there are lots of Clinton supporters in the baby boom generation like your mom. And they make up a large percentage of voters. I know my dad supports Clinton, which surprised me a bit since he's not exactly a feminist. If it comes down to Obama and McCain, I could see him voting for McCain or just not voting at all.

Then, on the other side of the coin, you have those 'Clinton Haters' who just can't vote for her because they "have never liked her." It's lame, but there are lots of people like that.

Hillary's in trouble. Losing Connecticut and Missouri were huge losses for her - in two states that a month ago weren't even competitive. Yes, she won California, but if that primary had been held a month from now, I'm not sure it would have gone the same way. The Chesapeake primaries (DC, VA, and MD) next week could very well be an Obama sweep, and all of the upcoming primaries between now and the next "Super Tuesday" look very good for him. With that much momentum, she be fighting a losing battle by the time Texas comes along.

The news here is reporting that Hillary did far better in our absentee ballots. Those had to be postmarked by January 29th, I think that was the day mine said. A tremendous groundswell of support for Obama happened in that week though and Obama did do better than Clinton at the polls yesterday.

:scared1: SO much too catch up on here! :lmao:

You forgot Laura Ingraham. Whatta joke.

These gas bags can't even figure out that, not only aren't people listening, they aren't going to start listening again to people who have been wrong about everything.

I knew this day would come. Isn't it grand.

Someone on CNN last night said that besides Romney, the BIGGEST losers last night were the NeoCon Radio Talk Show Hosts! It seems people have STOPPED listening to them!:lmao:

Hillary won in my county, but they also said that the turnout was a record. What I would really like to see is a breakout of Democratic vs Republican votes cast. Which party brought out the voters better?

The American people are PPPPPPPPPPPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEVED at what this current Admin had done to this country!

I am so pleased Senator Obama won Missouri. :goodvibes "As goes Missouri so goes the nation" at least it has in every race but one since the early 50s. I'm hoping this is a foreshadowing of November! :woohoo:

Interesting...never heard that before!:3dglasses

I know what you are saying and I am a straight voting Democrat.
Obama is no doubt a VERY inspiring speaker and he gives great speeches like I never heard before BUT I still think Hillary beats him at all the debates because she goes into how she wants to put her plans into work.
Yeah, I hear all of Obama's plans but I don't hear how he plans on trying to get them to work.

That is why I am a little uneasy about Obama as president.
That is why I am hoping for a Clinton/Obama ticket so Obama can work close to the president.

Since I am a straight voting Democrat, IF Obama in on the ticket in November I will vote for him but I do have some uncertainity about it. JMO :)

ITA! Also his NHC leave ALOT to be desired!:sad2: And the 'religious" overtones of his campaign...makes me a little nuts! However....if he is the nominee I will vote for him.

Are there actually any Hillary supporters on this thread? .
:yay:

DisUnc and I are always joking it might come down to us in PA, but I'm beginning to wonder if that actually won't be the truth. I honestly can't recall an election year like this. Barring any unforseen incident, I'm pretty sure McCain has it in the bag, but Hillary and Obama is still quite the horse race. It's exciting, but not gut wrenching (as I would hope it wouldn't be for most Dems), because I would gladly vote for either one.
WE GOT THE POWER!:goodvibes

Another Obama supporter who, though I feel he'd be a better candidate to bring this country together and get it moving forward, would still have to be DEAD to NOT be at the polls to vote for Hillary in November if she in fact gets the nomination.

Let's not forget the Obama supporters that are out there spinning in the best Karl Rove tradition.

Well, Hillary's got some folks that weren't doing to badly at that either-including her husband. Thankfully, that seems to have stopped on both sides. We'll see what happens with the delegate race so close, but I hope they stick to the issues and away from the mudslinging.

Yeah, I hear all of Obama's plans but I don't hear how he plans on trying to get them to work.

I think a lack of "How" exists for every candidate running. I do wish that Obama concentrated more on getting his plans out, but the motivational thing is really working for him.

Many people in this country don't vote and many that do, vote on likeability only, not issues. In watching the man on the street interviews yesterday, when people were asked why they were voting for their candidate, the responses were all things like, "I want a woman" "I want a black man" "I liked Pres. Clinton, so I'm voting for Hillary." Very few mentioned issues.

Oh good God!! Hillary is the queen of spin - she is even claiming she won Michigan.

Hello, she was the only one on the ballot. And the fact that something like 42% of voters came out JUST to vote uncommitted tells you about her so-called "victory."

II have asked people in real life how come they would not vote for Hillary if she gets the nom and the answers I get is because she is a b**ch or they don't want another Clinton in office.

I agree, I think the mudslinging does more harm then good.

I will support the Democratic candidate in November whether it's Clinton or Obama. I find them very similar on the issues and would be happy either way. Although I like Obama more, I feel that Hillary seems to have a better understanding of how to get things down in Washington.

I'm just thrilled that we have 2 great candidates and for the first time in a long time I'm not torn about which side I will be voting for.

Hi everyone,
Was listening to the radio station here in SD and they were talking to 2 students about last night and the issues brought up about Race, gender and such,...

Well they had 2 guests in the station that were talking about SD State University and USD (University of SanDiego). 2 large Collages here. The 2 schools Debate/political classes got together to poll students at there schools. Well it was very interesting to listen to...

The poll asked questions like....Who is your candidate, why will you vote for them, who will you not vote for and how much do you know about the issues and do gender, Race or your parents beliefs play a role in your decision as a voter. there were a few more questions but did not have a chance to write them down fast enough.

the results....

it turned out that many had no idea about what the issues were for either Rep or Dems but were voting more for theses reasons...

Lets do the Dems first...the ones who have no clue on the issues for the most part

majority of White Men when polled and a small amount of woman stated that they felt we are not ready for a woman Pres. and the main reason was because of PMS and that woman can be mean and cruel:eek: so they were voting for Obama

White Woman chose Obama as the men did due to his charm and likability. They like the way he talks and think that he would be good at talking to other countries for peace.

The other percentage of woman voted for Hillary due to her being a woman

The ones who were politically savvy picked Hillary over obama due to experience and strength and best to carry the country forward in time of war , however felt that she would not win over a Rep if it came down to it.

The Black poll was 90% due to him being black and felt that he is one that could bring them better out of poverty and because they are proud that we finally have a black man to go all the way. They were very caught up with that fact.

Hillary got the other 10% of black vote of woman and men.

When asked about parents half said that yes there parents were voting the same as them and discussed it with then and the other said that there parents were voting different.

Latino and Asians vote was high for Hillary due to immigration (why Asian for that ?)

The war and getting out....was overwhelmingly a YES

They did not like Bush

For the Rep...

McCain got highest votes due to being the best candidate to beat either Dem....

When asked about how they felt about the Rep candidates staying in the war for 100 years...30% who knew about that did not agree with it....70% had no idea:scared1: but agreed for the most part that we need to get out but as the Dem students soon but safe.

Religion had no affect and majority cared less.

They felt Bush was okay but could have done a better job.

The ones that were politically savvy still wanted McCain over the others and felt that staying in the war was however not so much in agreement but we should not pull out if it continues to improve. They also felt that he would do a better job than Bush did and that he could make the war a win for us , and that is something Bush or no other Dem can do.

So that is what I got ...it was very interesting to listen to. They polled thousands of students. All races and genders ages 18-24

O' one other question also was Why are you coming out to vote in this election(something like that) and 60% majority said that said "Because we want change" the other 40% said because of the economy.

That is it .....very interesting and they asked the ones that did not know about the issues also why have they not taken time to follow the debates and such. They said because of work and school there is no time so they discussed the candidates with there friends.

I use to be on of the people who said I'd never vote for Hillary, I said not another Clinton and that I would vote for McCain over Hillary. Then I watched the Republican debate and realized that McCain is not the man I remembered back in 2000, he's far from it and I could no longer support him. I use to be a huge supporter of his and I was really disappointed.

I decided to give Hillary a clean slate and to watch the last debate as if she was a new candidate, leave all my previous opinions behind and I was impressed. I was surprised at how similar they were on the issues and how "Presidential" Hillary came off, I was also surprised at how much experience she has on her own. I think she'd make a good President, as would Obama.

I agree and for those still saying they'd vote for McCain, take the time to watch the new McCain in action and I think you'll quickly change your mind. I have always been a moderate and every election I'm torn between the two sides on who I will vote for but this year is an easy choice for me, my vote will go to the Democrats.

I agree. It's imperative that they place nice. McCain will have this shored up soon and that will leave the Dems still duking it out. A nasty race between the two will just turn people off and perhaps drifting McCain's way as he'll have the luxury of being able to concentrate on the national race exclusively.

Doubt it! Especially since they are "neck in neck"!

I expect full out assualts, from both sides, to come.
