DVC Chit Chat Thread

Not yet, assuming I'm right on top of things at the 7 month window, but I know that isn't going to last. I don't know the exact stats, but VDH has many more points declared into inventory than sold. It may take a while for VDH to sell out, but once it does, it could be challenging at 7 months.
Do you just need a studio? You might be fine since there are so many of those!

True, but there is no Y/BY/N distinction with the affiliation in My Disney Experience.

The official "card" is the mobile wallet.
I don't know how the mobile wallet gets updated, but when I added MMB, it changed from DVC-Y to DVC-BY. Surely they can do something similar when an AP expires to no longer show it.

Yes, 90% of the time, a studio will be just fine. And because my DW thinks I overdo it with Disney trips, sometimes I'm flying solo and a Duo Studio is fine for me; those are trickier to catch at 7 months.

And right now, I'm in a bit of a pickle. I'm officially in camp "I hate split stays", but I booked my November trip a little late. Right now, I'm in standard view Duo for a few nights, then a preferred view Duo for 1 night, and then I tacked on a couple of extra nights in a preferred view deluxe studio so I could catch Dapper Day. Available nights are very limited, but I could skip the 1 night in a preferred view Duo and have another night in a preferred view Deluxe Studio. 9 more points & TOT, one fewer LLMP, but one fewer moves.

I guess it all comes down to one thing: how cheap am I? 🤣

Alright DVC friends. Have a waitlist for 2 nights in June at OKW Near HH. What’s the chance of getting those nights?

Because they don’t, it’s why CMs will ask you to see the actual pass in MDE that shows the expiration for AP discounts.

For DVC; they want the mobile card which shows DVC Y/BY/ND because the notation in memberships in MDE doesn’t differentiate.

Now, we know some CMs don’t always ask for things correctly.

That's where I am right now.

I want to visit my son over the summer, and those dates are TBD, but I know one mid-June week when that trip will not be. We have active APs, and I also may or may not have some "bonus" Wyndham points (it's a long story), so I currently have a 1BR booked at Bonnet Creek.

We'll see how well I manage to avoid the "All The Things" thing. For example, I am already trying to talk myself into (or out of, depending) an After Hours at Studios.

You'd think so, but as Sandi said above, it doesn't happen. We let our previous APs expire, but in our Mobile Wallets it still said AP for at least a year, maybe 2, afterwards. I can't remember whether the AP notation ever dropped off before we bought new APs!

I've never sold one of my contracts yet. I'm trying to spend more vacation time on the west coast. I wonder if I should sell my VGF so I can buy more VDH, but I have some VGF points tied up in reservations until about 8 months. And these are some firesale VGF points, and direct pricing will never be so cheap again. With their annual dues, they make great SAP.

The other temptation is just to add. I know that I don't need more points. Maybe I can come to my senses with sticker shock looking at my annual dues now that I've added some VDH points earlier this year. We have relatively high property tax in Texas because there isn't an income tax, but I think I'm at the point of paying more in DVC annual dues than property tax on my house. *eek*
I would not sell VGF direct points.
