Another teacher here. I would say Christmas if you have never experienced it before!! Awesome!! The first few days of your trip won't be too unbearable crowd wise, but crowds will increase the closer you get to Christmas. Do must do experiences early in your trip. ff+ saved us over Christmas break this past year. We booked our ff+ activities in early afternoon so our mornings were free when the parks weren't as crowded to do what we pleased. It is a different experience, and I'm so glad we chanced it (I was hesitant like you). Free dining is awesome deal too.

I'll always take heat over crowds, especially at Disney, where so much of it is indoors.

Ditto. You can ride many more rides (which are mostly indoors) in August.

I would also take the heat over the crowds any day! But it is a matter of personal preference there is no bad Disney time
