I'm thinking that to bet on what page will be the final one, we should do it Price is Right style. Who ever is closest without going over wins.

In this format the guesses are

PrincessinOz with page 295
DisneyFirefly with page 299
Usnuzuloose with page 301
Franandaj with page 303
Skiingfast with page 306

Anyone want to guess what the last page of this thread will be?

Seems we are a bit clustered.

The last 12 LTP threads have ended at page.
250,250,250,251,253,261,263,279,290,290,304,392

And one that never got past page 1?

Yes, the soup had a very strong flavor, which I didn't particularly care for.

Well, you're also a more fantastic cook than I am :lmao:

I think a different beer would have completely changed the flavor. It is funny that you used the white cheddar like the recipe called for, but used Bud Light instead of Moosehead! :lmao:

Bud Light has a strong piercing flavor, pretty acidic whereas the more amber crafted beers have a much more rounded flavor. I think you should give it one more try with a really good beer in there, it will make all the difference in the world in the strong flavor.

Dang! Now you have me really wanting to make it. Thank god, it's hot and muggy here so I don't have any desire for a heavy soup! Probably the next time I have it will be at Disney for F&W.

I'm not a more fantastic cook than anyone, just spent too much time with no money wanting to eat like a millionaire! :rotfl2: I learned to perfect recipes at home that I had at restaurants I couldn't afford to go back to! So now I have a good idea on how to improvise in the kitchen!

:lmao: I don't think they sell Moosehead around here :) My mom just didn't think that a different beer would make it taste different, and we had Bud Lite in the house.

I understand, though I like light beers, flavor wise, not actual lite beer. And wheat beers too. No mud for me.

For me it all depends. I rarely drink beer, but I do like it. I find (like at Biergarten in Epcot last May) that when I order a "flight" of beer that I tend to like the ones in the middle, more dark or red, but not the lightest. I know I like the Wheat beers, I love a black and tan, and sometimes, I really enjoy a Guiness. I'm just all over the place, same thing with wines, I pretty much like them all.

Well since we are on page 289 we're pretty well on our way to 300. Seems to me you are an analytical numbers kind of guy as you are putting some analsis into this. I like that! When I was in marketing, I was a trend analyzer....

Funny comments because if I was to suggest what the specialty of the LTPers is. I would guess cooking. I'm not a great cook, I like to improvise a lot of things but don't have the instinct to get the flavor right.

So should I bother with the cheese soup? I'd be using snobby beer. We still have beer from Christmas last year. Neither dh nor I drink much beer so we got it for my brothers. I think we got asahi, stella Artois, beer from Denmark and tiger beer last year. We also got boags. Think it's either the asahi or boags in the fridge still.

So where is the candlestick maker? I designate skiing fast the butcher ;)

I'm going with 310

Lasting from work where I'm having a chittius Maximus day (I wonder how the censors take that....)

I am not a big cheese fan...and not a fan of the soup
But I definitely thing bud light would make it pretty different...if not bad...

DBF loves 'real ales' as found at The Lord Nelson pub here in Sydney
Especially the Admirals blood.
I'd give you a link but no time...you could try google if interested. Stella Artois (also known as wife beater in the UK as it is so easy to drink) is certainly a good compromise. DBF likes it and Sam Adams. Lol...same as you Alison :lmao:

I actually quite liked Admirals Blood...which is a 6% ale. But I'm just not a beer drinker really so I just sip it.

I would think our specialty is more food than cooking, although we are all harsh critics; we don't do too badly on the cooking front.

I think it's up to you. If you liked it, try it :) I thought it was all right, but didn't really like it very much.

Of course I got that data from one of your posts. Thank you.

Post grad I studied finance but then marketing because but finance is about past trend while marketing clues you into the coming trend. Before that I studied science so lot of data gathering and reading plots.

I love it! I like to make it when it gets cold here, you know mid 50's :rotfl2:

I wouldn't use the Asahi, but the Stella Artois or the beer from Denmark would probably be good. I don't know tiger beer and boags. Sounds like you have more beer on hand than we do. We're not beer drinkers, but I usually have a couple bottle in the fridge in case I want to make the soup or cook some brats in beer. I've got a bit of Stella in there right now for the purpose of cooking Brats. I better do that before the weather starts to turn!

:lmao: I'd say kitchen arts period :) Since I'm not as good a cook as I am a baker :rotfl2:

Understandable but PIO probably puts it the best. We may like to cook and or bake, but maybe more enjoy the spoils.

While I'm surprised that some people find Stella Artios to be premium, what they don't know is it's common. The most comsumed beer on the planet. Nothing wrong with it. But I mostly drink an uncommon beer on the rare occasions I'm having beer.

Stella isn't a premium...it is just a 'good' easy drinking common one...
