That's what my DH calls the immediate care centers. It's a walk-in clinic for non-emergencies, but it's open until 8pm and on weekends. I've had to take the girls there for ear infections on the weekends before. I don't have a regular doctor (cause I never get sick), so I tend to just go to these types of places when I do get something. DH is an EMT so he has funny names for most medical terms.

O.K,,I thought thats what it was..Steve is an EMT also..I would go today, why prolong the pain? you can started on antibiotics and have it feeling better. I dont have a DR either, I do the same thing you do..

Sorry, I'm not myself today. Had to go to the dentist and get a cavity filled this morning. I'm not numb anymore, but I've got a shooting pain up from my jaw to my ear. It's really getting annoying.

His comments at home are even worse...

Sorry you're having pain. That stinks. Get to the doc and get something. My doctor told me "Pain is never good. It means something is wrong." Plus some pain medications are gud!

I don't go to the dentist any more. The last one I went to I nearly choked to death so the Billings Dental Association has black balled me. What I do is brush a lot and drink whiskey when I have pain.

It works.

One thing I forgot to mention is that a few years ago Buzz went to see my dentist. Now, I have to say, I think I have the best dentist in the entire world. I've been going to him for over 20 years. He's so gentle, I fall asleep when he works on my mouth. Even Buzz said he's the best dentist he's ever been to.

So Buzz goes to see him-not having been to the dentist for several years. He went to get his teeth cleaned. The dental assistant worked forever on his teeth removing the plaque, and then finally called it quits and did his x-rays. The plaque on his teeth was so thick it showed up on the x-rays which the dentist said was "not gud" and "highly unusual." He had to go back 2 more times to get the rest of the plaque off his teeth.

He tried to tell them his teeth felt nice and smooth to him and they said that's NOT what you want. You don't want to feel one tooth all smooth-you want to feel all your individual teeth. From there on out, when he told me that, I now refer to his teeth as his "tooth."

Sample conversation:

Me: "Oh you're brushing your tooth?"

Buzz: "Shut up."

Another:

Me: So you're going to the dentist to get your tooth cleaned?"

Buzz: "Shut up."

And yet another:

Me: "So you're flossing your tooth? Good for you!!"

Buzz: "Shut up."

And another:

Me: "How's your tooth doing?"

Buzz: "Shut up."

Apparently Buzz is a little sensitive about his "tooth." The best though was when I heard our eye doctor tell him his eyes were cross eyed and he said, "Don't tell my wife that!!" I was sitting right outside the examining room and immediately started laughing!! Nothing against people whose eyes cross, it was that he was going to hide it from me!! I happened to be in the right place at the right time!!!
