We were looking at rehearsal dinner options today. We will prob make it a combo rehearsal/welcome party and have about 80 - 90 people. We found a menu that was only $45 a person which is perfect, but all the places that we were looking at seem to have food and bev minimums of $75 or more. Is this the trick? We have to eat like in the parking lot? lol.

What rehearsal dinner locations do not have a high food and bev minimum?

Thank you sooo much!

Thanks Alissa!

Any more ideas? Most of my guests won't have cars, so I'm not sure how well offsite will work.

I guess it would depend on how private a meal you would like

but Why not take over a restaurant
with 80 to 90 people its not like you can all sit at the same table
so why not take half of Ohana’s or 1900PF?

Your planner can make the reservation (get the confirmation # from him/her)
the restaurant will give you either the first or last seating

plus the dinner price is now down to 30dollars a plate…so you can do a little center piece to mark your tables.

Some other ideas...

- Ariel's has a $1,000 F&B minimum but no per-person minimum. With 80 people, you'll easily hit that.

- Or, what about a BBQ at Fort Wilderness? I'm sure you could customize a menu to be pretty inexpensive, especially with BBQ food! Your planner can help you arrange this.

- Have you checked into the Levy restaurants at Downtown Disney? I know Fultons, Portobello Yacht Club and Raglan Road have private rooms or separate areas that they will let you use if you order off the group menus.

Raglan Road was REALLY friendly when I investigated last summer. At the time, they had a group cocktail party menu of "heavy" appetizers (fish 'n' chips, scallop forks, ribs) for $25 per person, per hour. I don't know how it would work for a group as large as yours, but you might want to give them a call: 407-938-0300.

I found Disney to be extremely unhelpful at getting the budget down on this kind of party. The catered events all had ridiculous menus and the restaurants did not want to accommodate a party that big. We tried a few places including Ohana with no luck. We wound up checking out a bunch of options at Downtown Disney. We contacted Raglan Road, Rainforest Cafe, Fultons, and the House of Blues. We are having our Welcome Party for 80 at Bongos. It's $35 per person and they had a cheaper menu too we just like this one better. I think I still have some of the menus I got if you're interested PM me.

Thanks- lots of great ideas here. I will esp. look into the FW BBQ and the Landrys places.

That would be good, but Disney now says no parties larger than 30.

DF and I are doing our rehearsal dinner at Whispering Canyons at the Wilderness lodge. This way we didn't have to worry about minimums and it was only about 20 dollars per person. We have the Dining Discount Card that gives you 20% off for up to ten ppl, but we a few, so we ended up with a good price, especially for all you can eat BBQ at Disney.

I have recently contacted Lorraine Gorham at Raglan Road. She is very friendly and helpful. They have a room called The Music Room and it can accommodate 50-70 people and the Raglan Room that can accommodate 80-100 people as well as some other areas. They have the heavy appetizers that lurky mentioned as well as menus that are $42.95, $52.95, $56.95, and $65. I am not sure if there are room minimums though. I could email you the menus and information she sent me if you are interested.
