...I was bald for the Hawaiian wedding and was wearing a hat--it was a look I liked less than the leg warmers of the 80s....

...mebbe we ALL could wear 'em....

Wrong decade. Those are definitely not from the 80's but rather from more recent years. 80's leg warmers didn't come in those colors, didn't have matching gloves and certainly were much more bulky, so you could scrunch them down, and didn't have pompoms on them. :sad2::sad2::sad2: And don't even get me started on the shoes. ;)

This probably didn't happen in New Jersey but I was living in Missouri, going to college, when the 80s leg warmer fad hit. There, they wore them over cowboy boots.

Some images just never go away.

Leg warmers and cowboy boots... I bet a couple of my kids would wear that. Of course, B checked the mail with me today wearing a Sleeping Beauty dress over her wicked witch shirt. With flip flops, of course.

Kimmar just mentioned on the DWTS thread that she spent 4 hours at the emergency room with her son last night, he had plastic surgery on his ear, I don't know any more.

Hope he is OK!

Doesn't she know you are supposed to talk your husband's ear off? :confused3

The height of fashion that one is!!!

Why do I think leg warmers and cowboy boots not that far fetched . . . ????

Wow -- hope he's okay too.

What are we, chopped liver? She posts that "somewhere else" and doesnt' give us an update :snooty:

I'm off to watch Idol, see you all in the morning :surfweb:

(just kidding, hope he is ok). ;)

...sorry guys, that I didn't 'let you in the loop', but I really didn't have any time today....was busy finishing up the 3rd marking period's grades and posting them....they are due by tomorrow at 9AM...

....I'll try to make this short~

My Ds and his friends were goofing around and wrestling each other on Sunday afternoon (you know how 16-year-olds are!) when he apprently hit his ear [he thinks on the corner of his friend's TV]. On Monday it hurt him, but he didn't mention anything. Yesterday, at school one of his friends asked him what happened to his ear, and he told his friend about what had happened. This kid who was looking at his ear happens to be a wrestler, and it looked like 'cauliflower ear' to him, so they asked the gym teacher to look at it. Of course, he recommended that I take him to the doctor's, so he called me at school; I picked him up and we went to the pediatrician, who said that it should be drained - it was probably a hemotoma, and to call an ENT or a plastic surgeon, so we left there, and on the way to the emergency room, I called the plastic surgeon that we know of [he took care of my DH when he cut his tendon in his wrist and has operated my my Br-in-L], who agreed to imediately meet us at the ped. emergency room. Well, turns out he tore his cartilage in his right ear....the surgeon cut the ear open, drained it, fixed the fractured cartilage, and sewed the ear up....about 20 stitches and 4 hours later, we were back home...

Holy moley Kimmar! :scared1: Glad you got it checked out. And thankfully it was his ear and not his face. I've seen people fall out of 2-3 story windows and walk away, and then your son hits his ear and need a plastic surgeon.

Hope he is not in too much pain!

Don't shine any lights through his ears (did you see poor James on Idol tonight?)

Kimmar, :scared1: Your poor son! 20 stitches is a lot. I hope he heals quickly.

PK, our neighbor at our first house got drunk and fell off a 3rd story balcony. Paralyzed from the waist down. Your comment reminded me, so I thought I'd share.

Snap, I don't watch Idol. I've seen a few of the old ones, but I don't watch much tv. No time. :sad2:

Only little R is up with me right now. She has a tummy ache. I asked her if she wanted to go to the doctor. She said yes, she wants to go to the doctor... and Disney World. That's my girl. :thumbsup2

I think R had too many M&M's??? I keep forgetting the time difference - It's 9AM here now. What time is it by you?
