Haha...this post made me laugh! I've never actually sat through an entire episode, so I'm really not one to judge. I just like to tease DF about it, mostly.
Sorry for the hold up, everyone! I will get down to business soon, I promise! I have a couple busy days in front of me, and I'm hoping that darn photo pass cd comes in the mail so I can give the next installment it's justice. Hopefully I'll give you all what you are waiting for this weekend!
Thank you all for reading! It's so exciting that people are actually reading this!
Can't wait to read all about your very special evening!
When DH proposed, he made me travel all over my city to find him back at home for him to propose. Once I figured it all out, it took me 1.5 hours to find him (he sent me on a scavenger hunt in a limo).
So I can totally appreciate that if you knew what was going to happen, you would have sped up the process a little bit!
Ok, photopass finally came yesterday, but we were busy with an engagement party. Sorry to keep everyone waiting, but here is the next installment! I hope it lives up to expectations and people keep reading after its over.
So anyway, where we left off we were just leaving the Liberty Tree Tavern and heading back into the MK...
After leaving dinner we really didn't have too much of a plan. I wanted to use the fast passes we'd collected (Splash, BTMR, and Peter Pan), and maybe stick around for either Spectro or Wishes if we were feeling up to it. Matt on the other hand had other ideas. As soon as we left dinner, he suggested we walk around to the front of the castle and maybe find a photopass CM to get our picture taken. Now, I should have been suspicious right here, because looking around for photopass opportunities isn't usually Matt's thing-thats usually my job But, we had just eaten, and I wanted to relax and enjoy the night, and I figured, why not-might as well start that photopass CD collection. So, we walked through Fantasyland, and around the castle to the front view.
Once we got around the front of the castle, we both realized that they had started blocking off areas for Spectro. Photopass people were really no where to be seen from this view. No biggie, I thought. I figured we could just get some later and we could go ride some rides now! DBF (I figure I better use that term cause it'll be one of the last times I can) looked visibly upset/nervous/anxious at this point, but he begrudgingly agreed to head with me back over the Frontierland so we could finally get on Splash Mountain with those fast passes.
As we were walking over to Splash, we passed a pretty side view of the castle with a photopass opportunity. Matt stopped me dead in my tracks, and asked if we could stop for a picture here. So, as we were setting up for the picture, Matt whispered something in the CM's ear. At this point, I KNEW something was up, and I was starting to get nervous.
Here is one of our pre-proposal pictures. They aren't the best..haha...you can see Matt fidgeting in his pocket, and I think we are both a little nervous. Him for obvious reasons, and me because I know somethings up:
So, the photopass CM takes a couple pictures, and just as I think we are in the clear, and nothing will happen after all, Matt asks the CM if we can take just one more. Matt looks at me, gets on one knee, holds out my ring, and asks me to marry him. I completely flip out...I don't even remember what I said, but I know I said yes somewhere in there.
So at this point, people around us are stopping and watching. At one point a big group of people burst into applause. Honestly, I was a little embarrassed over it all, but it was still really cool. A couple people came up to us and congratulated us.
Here is my favorite one that photopass got:
And in black and white:
Now, if I had known this was all going to happen, I would have tried to make myself look a little nicer. I was still in my travel close at this point, and I definitely would have put my bagalini elsewhere, but oh well! Matt said he wanted to do it right away in the Magic Kingdom so we could celebrate all week long. He also didn't want to keep the ring in the hotel room or use the safe and tip me off.
Anyway, so we eventually left the area, and just wanted to find a quiet place to talk and digest what just happened. I think we ended up in a smoking section, not sure, but we found a quiet place where we were pretty much alone (pretty hard to do in the MK). We had a very sweet, heartfelt conversation.
At this point, we were REALLY giddy and excited, and I kind of wanted to skip our plans and leave to make all my phone calls (haha), but we wanted to ride Splash first though-I mean, we were still in the Magic Kingdom after all! Haha.
So, we made our way to Splash with our fast passes. We were both in kind of a daze and talked and made googly-eyes at each other the whole ride. Luckily we were in the back of the log...haha. We seriously were barely paying attention, and were surprised when we found ourselves at the top of the drop so suddenly!
After Splash, we decided to skip the rest of our fast passes, so no Peter Pan or Big Thunder (or Wishes or Spectro) for me this night! We made it back to the CSR buss stop (gotta love it being the first stop at the Magic Kingdom!). Honestly, that bus ride is a complete daze to me. We were both so giddy and out of it! So, we made it back to CSR, and were at bus stop 4, I believe, outside of the Casita section. It being our first bus ride back and all, and the fact that we were both so loopy from getting engaged, we hopped right off without thinking, and ended up walking through the Casita section all the way to the Cabanas. It was a lovely night, and we were both sooooo excited. On our walk, I started making all my calls because I just couldn't wait any longer. My mom probably gave me the best reaction...I think she was *almost* more excited than I was!
The rest of the night is kind of a blur. When we made it back to the room, our luggage was waiting for us. We both spent the rest of the night on the phone with different people, unpacking, and at one point we walked to El Centro to buy our Pepper Market refillable mugs. I also spent a good chunk of time on those lovely hammocks making all my calls to friends/relatives. By the time we were done with everything, it was about 11:30, and it had been a loooooooong day. Our plans were to be at Hollywood Studios by rope drop for Star Wars Weekend, but already we were both wondering if we'd be up for it. We decided to set the Stitch alarm early anyway and decide in the morning what we would do. Off to bed we went with pleasant dreams! Then, about an hour later, my best friend called me back (at about 1:00 Am...haha, cause I called her a few times and she didn't answer-was at work)...so after that conversation, I don't think I actually made it to sleep until close to 1:30 AM....
It was a tiring but GREAT day!
Finally, here a a couple pictures of the ring. I actually took these later in the trip, but I think they belong here:
Sorry if I kind of went overboard with the ring shots....
Anyway, I hope people keep reading! Now that I have the photopass pictures, I'll probably be updating faster! I really want to finish this TR before my memories start to fade.
For next time...do we actually make it to Hollywood Studios for Star Wars Weekend? What will we do the morning post-proposal??? Stay tuned!
I'm in for the long haul. Right now I am sitting here crying after reading today's entry and looking at the pictures. Tell your honey that I think he is GREAT and I don't even know him. Congratulations agan and I look forward to more of the report.
Awwwwww what an awesome and cute and perfect proposal!! I would loveee for my BF to propose to me in front of the castle (in like 2 years though lol) but idk if he's that crafty
I can just imagine how dazed and excited you were!! Congratulations! I'm not going to stop reading now so don't worry LOL
