The Hyena Chat thread: Everyone's welcome!

How about a Pear Smoothie?

2 containers of vanilla yogurt
2 small ripe bananas
2 ripe pears
1-1/2 cups OJ
1 cup ice cubes

i dont have a blender. :scared1: I know. Hubby dropped it on the floor, and it broke.

I used a tip fomr a budgeting book about using less sugar when making hte cranberry pie, I can't remember what I used.. I know it was some odd spice like cream of tartar or something. :confused3

But I can't find the info.

I notice alot of recipes for it call for a huge amt of sugar!

The one I found called for a cup and a half of sugar. Is that a lot for a pie?

Wow... I was reading the Jello shot thread.. Sure is making me wish I was pg. :lmao: :lmao: I have never had a Jello shot before, but it sure does sound like something I would like to try. ;)

Most of our food here isn't taxed. But some "junk food" is. Cranberry juice is one that is taxed because it contains so much sugar they consider it in the soda pop category.

Do you have a food processor?

I found one that said use sweet cherries and cranberries, but no sugar. Of course since cherries are in season at the end of the summer and cranberries are in season in late fall...yeah that'll work!:lmao: Guess you could use Light canned cherries.

Nope.

Well, I cannot believe this is really happening, but I am going to bed before Sam! :lmao:

I wish you all a good night's sleep. :cloud9:

I ate so much sugar free jello when I was on the South Beach diet. I think I'm going to go back on the diet, I did really good on it. I still use a lot of their tips...but obviously not enough of them. :lmao:

I don't know.. but it was cheaper to add a teaspoon of whatever the heck it was then to load in the sugar. :lmao:

It had almond extract too, I think that is why it tastes more like cherry.

We have that too, for us it's taxed if the prooduct contains only a certain percentage of juice. Falling into a different category.

There is a great company , based out of Wisconsin, called Northland that has 100% cranberry juice with no added sugar.

Ocean Spray is HUGE and pushes them out of most markets, or they get a teeney tiny slotting space at grocerry stores in comparison.

The marsh MIL worked at provided their berries to Northland :goodvibes Feels good to support the little guy, in turn supporting small family owned farms.
And get an excellent product to boot!

They sell that here too... I think. It sounds familiar.
