The how we ate and drank our way around the World Trip Report - UPDATED 05/06!

I've never seen Voices of Liberty, but that seems like a wonderful show!

Oh, Toy Story 3 is pretty much one of the tear-jerkiest movies ever. Honestly, I cry every single time I watch it. But you still do NEED to see it. It's really really good! (And yes, Lotso is the WORST.)

Haha!! Can't wait for your "drinking around the world" pictures! :-)

Great update!

Hi Emma! Yeah, I can't wait to re-live the "drinking around the world" part! It was quite humorous. I'm soooo glad I'm no longer 21!!! :rotfl:
I love your report. I agree on how pretty the Germany area is. I always look forward to it. It brings back memories. I lived in Germany for a total of 6 years (2 different trips with the military).

Hello TillyDe! I'm very envious of you living in Germany! I've never even been to Europe - only the fake version (Epcot). It just seems like that's exactly what a lot of it would look like. :confused3

You've never seen Voices of Liberty??? It really is a must for us. Honestly. You won't be disappointed Just remember - don't do what I did and have them help you up! :rotfl2:

Well, my daughter is a sophmore in college right now and it's STILL very hard on me. Maybe once she's out of college and living back at home, I'll be able to handle it. Until then, I'll just have to take your word for it.

Voices of Liberty will give you goose bumps. Especially when they perform songs like America the Beautiful. We have stopped and listened to them for many years and still LOVE them. They are excellent and really know how to engage the audience.

We do love EPCOT. I think we take more time to stop and enjoy the flowers and do a bit more people watching. Funny, even our kids really love EPCOT.

And, EPCOT does make a big deal when it is your birthday. It was very fun celebrating a birthday in EPCOT. :rotfl2:

Yeah, I think as the kids have gotten older, they have really come to appreciate EPCOT. I can't wait to share of your varying shades of blushing red!

I second that all the way.... lol definitely pulls on the heart strings but in a good way ya know

Love all the pictures of EPCOT. I feel like I'm right there with you.

Can't wait to hear about the attempted drinking around the world!

Really enjoying your trip report.

I always have two things on my list for snacks. One is the Dole whip at MK. Did that. The other is a funnel cake. I usually get that at EPCOT. It is messy, but soooooooooo good. A plus would be something from the bakery in France. I hear rumors that the bakery is going to expand and will be serving sandwiches, etc. Wednesday must be considered a slow day at EPCOT as a few of the countries weren't performing that day. Each of the girls have had at least two actual birthdays spent at WDW and have gotten the most attention at EPCOT.

More beautiful flowers…

Okay. It’s amazing how much attention you get when you wear a birthday button. We were walking around Morocco and we heard signing coming from a little back alley “café” so my sister barely peeks her head around the door frame to see where the singing is coming from. Mind you, they’re in full Moroccon song and I’m right behind my sister. The SECOND they see her, they immediately – without missing a beat – go into Happy Birthday to you. But what was so funny was they were still clapping the same. They were singing in their same tone… they just changed the words to Happy Birthday and it was honestly really funny. :rotfl:

They made her put on this funny hat and everything. See the pretty shade of red on her face? Again?

More Disney magic for you!

Yea, it's funny. You look for perks when wearing a birthday pin, but not really full on attention! The Morocco thing really was funny. First of all, we never really go into Morocco, but since we had the time, no kids and were just enjoying the day and the beautiful weather, we ventured into the area and were checking out the restaurants and the charming setup they had. Really, all I did was peek my head around the corner - obviously enough that my upper part of my body was also in and they saw the button. It was sooo fast! And funny. Next thing I knew they were dragging me into the restaurant, clapping and singing Happy Birthday along with putting a hat on. I didn't even have a chance to react or escape!

But, loved that Disney does that type of thing. Always trying to make people feel special. Sometimes you wonder if the magic is still there. Then there are times they show nothing but the magic.

It was a great day!

Time to take a seat and enjoy a little Off Kilter in Canada. While we were sitting there waiting for the show to begin, a woman sitting next to me pulls out a bag of peanuts and out of nowhere, comes a cute, little squirrel and he comes right up to her and takes it out of her hand.

DSCN3490.jpg

DSCN3489.jpg

Well, apparently the squirrel has a name and a facebook page. His name is Steve and allegedly his facebook name is Stevie Stevenson, however, I couldn’t find it. If you find it, please let me know. She did flash the page to me on her phone but I just now looked for it and coulnd’t find it. I did, however, find video of Steve at Epcot so apparently he’s well known and he’ll even crawl up your leg to get the peanut from you. I really wanted to do it but I had shorts on and didn’t want him clawing up my bare leg. Oh, and by the way, he prefers salted peanuts over unsalted. But who doesn’t?

Once Off Kilter starts, he disappears.

DSCN3491.jpg

Here he is. My secret crush. Or not so secret now. I think he’s pretty dreamy…

DSCN3499.jpg

And can you see how he’s looking right at me? I’m pretty sure he’s thinking the same thing about me…:rotfl:

My sister and I really want to live here.

DSCN3506.jpg

All that drooling… I mean walking has once again worked up an appetite for us so we thought we’d head over to the Land to eventually do

DSCN3513.jpg

But not before we ate at Sunshine Seasons.

We didn’t really care for the food and apparently neither did my camera because the pictures came out horrible but here they are anyway.

Me. Oak-fire rotisserie chicken. My chicken was dry and blah.

DSCN3508.jpg

My sister got a caesar salad with chicken. It was okay.

DSCN3509.jpg

My mom got the Reuben Panini, which she really liked but I have yet to see her not like a reuben.

DSCN3510.jpg

A small little Disney pixie dust here… my mom was getting her reuben and they asked her if she wanted chips or potato salad and my mom didn’t understand her so she just said chips. I saw the potato salad and was shocked she didn’t get it because it looked like something she’d love so as we sat down, I commented that I was surprised she opted for the chips and not the potato salad and her eyes lit up and she said, “they had potato salad??”

So… a cm was walking past us and I told her what happened so of course, she came back with a small plate of potato salad for my mom. Again… that’s Disney for you.

Here’s her potato salad. Ewww to the potato salad – she happened to love it.

DSCN3511.jpg

After we were completely unsatisfied, we headed over to…

DSCN3513.jpg

And this was the line…

DSCN3514.jpg

A little more Disney magic here… we’re in the Soarin’ line and one of the cm’s notices my sister’s birthday button (she got a LOT of attention today). The CM walks over to a phone in the hallway (we’re in line) and he looks at my sister and says, “it’s for you” (the phone). My sister kinda smiles and says, “yeah, okay” and kinda looks away. He again says, “No. Really. The phone is for you!” To which I say, “go over there!!!” She picks it up and here is her reaction…

DSCN3515.jpg

Goofy was singing happy birthday to her! Notice her lovely shade of red. Again. Very cute though that they took the time to do that.

Oh… so the couple (kids) in front of us in line? I’d guess they were around 17-18… very attractive young couple? They were practially having sex in line and we were directly behind them. P.U.K.E. My sister and I just kept rolling our eyes at them so we ended up making friends with the old couple behind us who had clearly been married for a very long time and didn’t really seem to want to have much to do with each other. They were actually very sweet and it took our minds (and eyes) off the sex couple in front of us.

After we soared through all of California, we thought we’d do a little shopping and I started noticing a theme here. Duffy. Who is he and why is he taking over Disney? I had never even heard of him and honestly, he was everywhere?!?!?

I’m looking at a wall in a shop at Epcot and here you see Duffy…

DSCN3516.jpg

And I turn around and here you see more Duffy….

DSCN3517.jpg

He was everywhere. That was a lot of Duffy in one little tiny shop! It was just very odd that before this trip, I had never even heard of him and I kinda felt like they were trying to shove him down our throats. Hmmmm…

Moving on to Mexico to get a…

DSCN3519.jpg

DSCN3520.jpg

That was to wash our not-so-good lunch down. And it worked. It completely hit the spot and gave us all a nice little case of brain freeze.

Back to Morroco to watch…

DSCN3521.jpg

It was pretty cute because there was a group of 5-6 young boys (I’d guess them to be around 12ish) and they were there with their dads. They were all sitting front and center and the boys kept giggling to each other. The dads didn’t notice a thing with their kids because they were a little - distracted! It was quite funny. They definitely got an eye full. The kids AND dads!

Next up? I think she’s finally done blushing.

Same with this one... sorry. Can anyone tell me how to delete and entire post? I couldn't get it to post - and then it posted three times!

Goofy, there are quite a few good places to eat either around Boardwalk or at Downtown Disney. We have eaten at the Grill and liked their food. Lately we have been eating at the ESPN club. They have good burgers and sandwiches. Also, Beaches N Cream on the Boardwalk has good burgers, good onion rings and lots of good ice cream. Earl of Sandwich at downtown Disney has good sandwiches and you don't need a park pass to go there.

It has been a few years since I have done Soaring. Nobody wants to go with me as I am hanging on too tight. I think I am afraid I will slide right out of the seat and end up at the bottom of the canyon or in the river.
