Thanks to everyone for their help, it makes me feel a little better prepared for this trip. Me dh do want to experience this one time by ourselves before the little ones come back hopefully for my dd first birthday. So when we come back we can focus full attention on them and not be so awe struck by everything around us!:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

I'm jealous!!!!! I do take my older DD every year to Disney (little one is staying home with daddy this year) but it's my DREAM to do an adult Disney trip!

You have a BLAST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My DD and I will be at the POP at the same time, if you find you are missing your kids too much, by all means - come borrow mine for a bit :D:D:D (kidding.... sort of LOL)

I looked through a bunch of posts, but couldn't go through all 200 pages to see if my question was asked already!

I know that there is high speed internet available, but has anyone had any luck with wireless internet and gotten a connection?

Regarding internet... nope, nothing at POP, atleast that my laptop could pick up. My card is pretty strong as I can get a connection to the hotels on a1a near our house's internet but I could find nothing at POP. Sorry. There are a few places in the area that offer free wireless, will you have a car?

Nope, no car! It's not a big deal, I was just wondering. If we won't be able to get a signal then I don't see a reason to lug it all the way down there. It'll be nice to be computer free for a week :)

I keep seeing people talking about how they request certain areas of the hotel with certain views, etc. Is there someplace where this info is centrally located so I can find the best area of the hotel to stay in and find out how to go about requesting it?

Thanks!

Pop does offer wired internet for about 10 bucks a day if I recall..

And you can check this website..
http://www.wififreespot.com/fl.html

For a list of free hotspots in the Orlando area.

As for requesting a room - just do it at check in. I know it's fun to think about that and try to secure something ahead of time.. but unless you have serious health issues (wheelchair, asthma autism etc) that require something out of the ordinary.. just do it at check in.

Your sanity will thank you later.

When we went to POP in 2003, my stepson had connection with wireless internet every night...that his past time....he had no problem...what he did, I have no idea. He knows all the in and outs....

There is NO wireless internet access at Pop Century.

If you do happen to see a wireless connection, chances are your neighbor brought thier wireless router with them on vacation, and forgot to secure it.

Thanks for the responses. I just don't want to lug the laptop down there if we can't use it, ya know? So I think I'll leave it at home!

No one has posted to this forum about included fridges.

Occasionally one may be in your room because guest services hasn't moved it -- but it's not officially included.. So don't count on it.

:wizard:
Do the rooms have a fridge at no cost now like the deluxes and mods?
Thanks!:confused3

it's my understanding they're $10 per night extra. we reserved one because we want to be able to have cold beer/wine/soft drinks/water and keep our many leftovers fresh!

Pop fridge swaps are also open on the Budget Board. We are signed up for our next trip in August. Look out Pop~ here we come again and we can't wait. :cool1:

Hi Everyone!
I Love the Pop Century Resort!
I have a question for room location experts: Are there top floor rooms where you can see some of the fireworks from Wishes, Illuminations, or Fantasmic?
Thanks for any help I get on this question.

Wow, this was the exact question I was looking to ask if it wasn't on here. We are looking at going in October and the only thing that would stop us from staying at Pop instead of POR was the fridge. For $10 per night, we will go with Pop. Thanks for the info.

I'm new to the boards, only my second post but have the same unanswered question - does POP have a coffee maker in the room? I haven't stayed at a value resort in years and can't remember. Also - UP Disney, I was born and raised in Ontonagon - nice to see another UP disney fan.
