The Groovy New Pop Century FAQ Thread!

Well this is my second time going to Pop Century. Me and my parents loved it there and decided to stay again. The last time we were put in the 80's, right next to the food court which made things easy. The pools are also nice there, especially the "Hippie Flower" pool. Of which me and my family call it. :teeth:

Is there wireless access in the hotel? And if so, how much & do you have to request a certain building to be sure to have it, etc.? Sorry if this is a repeat, I scrolled through looking for the answer until I was cross-eyed!

Unless it has changed since last year it is dial up internet. I think the price is $9.95 per 24 hours.

Ugh! Dial-up only, and for $9.95 per day? :sad2: Oh well, guess I'll have to deal since I am taking college courses online & will need access while we're there in Sept. :surfweb:

I tried to search, but no luck. Is there a laundry drying line in the bathroom to dry swimsuits and such? TIA :thumbsup2

I never noticed a :laundy: before but I'm sure I just missed it! Alot of people just hung their towels and bathing suits over the railing in front of their room door. I swear when we go back this time I am taking loads more pics!

Tips for first timers? Well, they say that the CM do the twist at both 8am and
6pm although we have yet to see it :dance3: Other than that, just enjoy! Make sure and explore all the years because we go commando and are always to tired in the evenings to just hang out and have more than one good look around the place. Listen to the music too, when you first arrive. I wish I could remember the song that was playing at arrival on our first trip. The music really sets the mood, and the mood is a good one! I groovy one in fact :smooth:. The Everything Pop gift shop is a nice one and the staff are great too. The food in the food court is really good for food court food, I recommend Mom's Chicken Dinner but I'm afraid of the tie dyed cheese cake! Try and take a walk out on Generation Bridge one evening for a bit of romance and a view of the buildings that haven't been compleated...yet. Rumor has it that they will be family suites one day.

That's about it mom_2_boys. Oh yeah, buy the refillable mugs for a great deal and a cheap souvie when you get home!

Have fun

I understand there are no Bell Hops at POP so is it still possible to have my
luggage transferred to the Boardwalk. Staying at POP for two nights before going to the Boardwalk for a week. Thanks for your help.

Thanks for the tips! Me, princess: , dh pirate: ds2 :moped: , ds4 :happytv: , sis princess: and mom princess: are heading out in 20 days! We have booked a 2 connecting preferred rooms. I am wondering if I should try to get us one room with a king size bed and one with two double beds. I am packing a tent for my boys to sleep in (we have done this on several trips and it works great, very small to pack) and wonder if we would have more room for that in the kings bed room. Any thoughts?

This may have been answered before but i couldn't read through all 160 pages. I noticed on some pics on the first couple of pages a family on a surrey bike.........Can you rent those at POP?

Just popping up the Pop thread with another question....

Now that some of the 60s, 50s, and 70s rooms are preferred, does anyone know where the standard rooms are in these buildings?

If you stayed at Pop since the preferred rooms have changed, where did you stay? Was it standard or preferred?

We have just got back stayed in 50,s room building 1 room 1465 floor 4 overlooking the pool and went standard.

I think you could when Pop first opened but they are not there anymore. At least they weren't last summer.
