Has anyone ever stayed in a ground floor room at Pop? My neighbor stayed in a ground floor room at CBR and loved it. When they put the little ones down for a nap they would sneak out into the courtyard and relax outside. I am just wondering if the ground floor rooms at Pop are darker or noiser? Much thanks for any input! ::MinnieMo

Hi mom22boys: I was in a ground floor room Halloween weekend, room 0114 near the Potato Heads. My room was not on the courtyard side with the foosball players and main traffic area but on the back with the lawn and trees facing the 90's. However, I did not find it to be too noisy. I would think it could work for you to get a ground floor room. I certainly enjoyed the convenience. Hope you have a great time. Wish I was there now!

I didn't know that they take your bags. DH and I will have only one backpack each and I don't really feel comfortable about them handling my things. Will they let you just keep your bags with you on the ME????

We were able to take backpacks/tote bags on the bus with us. Anything larger, including regular luggage carry ons they stowed under the bus.

Mom22, When I was at Pop I was in the non courtyard side of the preferred buildings. I didn't find the ground floor there particulary noisy. If you're given a poolside room though you may not like the noise.

GorshGoofy and Andrew Lubow, thanks for the tips. I bet it really depends which way the room is facing. Do you know if the rooms are preassigned at Pop or if the just use a "room ready" policy? I kind of like "room ready" and being able to look at the different options available and then go from there.

mom22boys: You are welcome! In my two visits to Pop it seems that they use a room ready policy. While it wouldn't hurt to make your requests known prior to arrival you can simply talk to the CM at the desk and give them your request at check in.

Well there's room ready and requests. A room ready is just what it sounds like any one that's been prepped and is ready to occupy. Had a request like ground floor or prefered ? Well you can still get room ready but instead of the total prepped/ready inventory available you only have those. Only the preferred buildings (not ground floor requests) are guaranteed if you payed for it tho. You may request a ground floor room but you may not receive it although in my experience every effort will be made to accomodate you.

Anyone still reading this far down the line?

Q: Will there be a safe in the room?
Each room will feature an in-wall safe big enough to hold a laptop computer.

I have been told that is is NOT the case - anyone know?

I need some help...but if I remember correctly, I think you can. How big is the laptop??? I have a 12 inch...so I believe that it will fit.

Anyone been recently and used it for a laptop???

I'm going from memory here but I think it would be a tight fit if it fit at all. We need somebody to take measurements.

We stored our DVD player in there as well as a few other things and there was still room to spare...they are quite large. A laptop should be okay.

They will fit a standard screen laptop. Those with the extra large wide screen displays may have difficulty.

We stayed in the 90's building room 8406 and 8407 connecting rooms with a pool view

In the safe we put:
Dvd player
money belt
DS wallet
Travel doc
Travel wallet

The safe goes up and down so we had to stand everything up but it fit!

When I checked in. I was able to get connecting rooms for me and my sister. My sister checked in about 6 hours after I did. So they are accomindating to requests.

DBIL is going to be at POP for Superbowl weekend, & he is wondering where they might be able to watch the Superbowl. They don't want to sit in the room & they don't want to go to ESPN, because it will most likely be a mob-scene. I can't remember if they had television sets at Petals or Classic Conconctions. Does anyone know?

I remember tvs by the bar in Everything Pop. You could even see them from the dining area near the pool exit, I think. Hope that helps!

PS-We were there over Superbowl '04, and were at fantasmic that night. I thought the crowd would be low, due to the game, but it was not. All the dads were keeping track on their cell phones! LOL

Can anyone tell me, are there any vending/ice machines at the POP?
For 2 people, any difference between the king size bedroom and the two double beds (besides the obvious)?

Yes there is :goodvibes Not sure about the room size, we have only stayed in the doubles.

There was a TV at the pool bar. When we returned from the parks on monday night I noticed that the game was on (MNF). I really took notice since I felt that game was on so late. It starts at 6pm for us on the west coast. So I know that there was a tv there. You could see it from the bar stools as well as the tables surrounding it. Hope this helps.
