The woman I spoke to on the phone told us that buildings 12 or 16 were the buildings she was putting us down as requesting, since they were the closest standard rooms at the Pop. Looked on the thread and couldn't find anything higher than 10 for the building numbers, anyone know where these buildings are?

Also, is there a permanent ironing board/iron in the room? If not, do I have to request one each day or can I keep it in my room for the duration of my stay? Thanks! :)

Weird, I can only see 10 buildings on my property map. Building 1 the Lady building is pretty close as is the corner of building 6 (mickey phone) Building 3's corner is close too (Tramp) and Building 10's corner is not too bad(big wheel). But, really, none of the buildings are awful except 2, 7 and 8, they seem very remote to me.

All of this info has been GREAT!!! We are planning our first stay at PoP in Dec. for 10 days. Buses won't be a problem since we are driving down. We might give it a try one day just so we don't have to drive. Maybe for breakfast at Chef Mickey's.

i have a little over 4 months til my first WDW stay and we are doing 10 days. all the help i can get will help. thanks in advance

Please tell me tell me all the rooms that I can see fireworks from please. I really need a perk to stay at a value. Thank you sincerely.

JUST BACK...I was in the 50's Tramp bldg LAKE/60's side...saw nothing from there...You can only view the Epcot Fireworks from the JUKEBOX bldg...Lakeside!!!!!

However if you are looking for Towel (animals) Designs the Tramp bldg lakeside is the place to be! Stayed 7 nights GOT 6 creations!!!! My nephew got a big kick out of these, basket of roses, clown, love birds, cat...(i cant remeber the rest)

My 11 year old nephew noticed that the 1970's stacked icon from the front of the POP is missing(7/25 to 8/1)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When we questioned a few CM's they were even suprised that it was GONE. No one knew what happened to it!

Anyone here know what happened to the 4 story tall 1970's icon from the front of the POP????? :earseek:

It was a casualty of Hurricane Jeanne last year. During the hurricane, it suffered severe damage, and fell down. Disney removed the other decades as well, and reinforced them as a precaution. However the 1970's has to be completly rebuilt from scratch. I knew it would take awhile, but I didn't think it would take more than 10 months.

Hi Tyler!

How are you, are you on TT by any chance now? Every Tyler I see I ask if its you! After so many weird looks, I stopped asking!!!! :cool1:

Wow Really the hurricane!!! I am suprised I never heard this before. No one at the POP seemed to know the answer to this.
As far as the hurricanes, While riding the monorail I did notice quite alot of trees down and twisted about between the TTC & Epcot. :sad2:

We stayed Tramp building lake side, but we were in the end room by the lake facing Epcot in May 2004 and we could see the fireworks.

As of this past weekend, I work backstage now. Very small chance of ever seeing me, I'm afraid.

I was at Pop during Jeanne, so I saw it all happen. It was terrible. Doesn't surprise me that some don't know -- quite a few new CMs in the past year that probably weren't here during Jeanne.

You are now like the 'Great & Powerful OZ"!!!!!

I was at the POP same last week last July (I missed you by a day) & again this past week...None of the faces seemed familiar to me. It's still our favorite resort!

And just like the great and powerful Wizard of Oz, I'm merely a regular person with smoke and mirrors. :)

Anyone recently back that can say if they do or do not have hairdryers in the rooms?

Heading out in 5 days so I need to know if I have to pack mine or not - I suppose with the humidity it is all moot anyway LOL

Thanks

No hair dryer in my room. However, dh called the front desk; and one was delivered in under 5 minutes!!

I was at Pop last week and there was a hair dryer that was connected to the wall in my room and my friend's room. It was nice that I didn't have to bring one from home. I used it every day, it was 1500 watts, and worked very well. My hair is medium length and on the thicker side. :sunny:

Okay so I'll leave mine at home! Thanks for your quick replies and the heads up about the room looking like it was 'on fire' LOL

BIL called to book and was told if he paid for a preferred room he would be guaranteed a room on the first floor, near the lobby. ??? Unless something has changed, I thought preferred rooms were any rooms in the 60's buildings.

They want us to pay extra for a preferred room so we can be near them. I don't think so. I booked a couple weeks ago and requested 70's Big Wheel and I'm sticking with it.

He was also told that since we are checking in in the middle of the week all the good rooms will be gone. This kind of makes sense since most people check in on the weekend. Anyone know?

We checked in late, late on a Thursday and got a fantastic king room! We were in the 50's building, and our location couldn't be beat. We were very close to everything -- buses, food, elevator, pool, etc.
