The frozen Coke is available at the beverage stations inside the food court. Most people buy the refillable mugs, which is what we did, so I don't know how much they would cost indivually (probably about $2). There is always at least one machine working during the hours the food court is open. I say at least one because they start shutting down the beverage stations in the evening one by one until closing time.

Cool, or icy cold! :rotfl: We shall be buying the refillable mugs, but didn't know you could use them in the frozen coke machine; that makes them even better!!!

The best thing to do for towels @ the water parks is get them there. I think it was a $5 deposit which you got back when you returned the towels (or something similar!). If you did take them from your resort, you would need to return them to your resort so you don't get charged for any towels when you check-out.

I had a feeling that was the case, but just wanted to double check. Can't decide if we're going to pack our Nemo towels or not, since it will take up more room in our hand luggage. However, we never lose our loungers with them! :rotfl:

Anyway, is it time to come to Pop yet?!?!?!

I could be wrong but i thought there were towels by the elevators on first floor in 60's building. :confused3 seems like we got towles there for the pool..

Here are two images of Pop Century that I found using http://maps.live.com/
Thought I would share them here.

Enjoy.

I loved seeing those maps! We've never used that website, we usually go to google earth. We downloaded the 3D stuff and now a lot of our websites appear in this really huge font. Any idea how we can fix it?? Sorry to be OT, but since you seem to be familiar with maps live I thought maybe you could help.

Wondering what are your favorite foods at POPs food court? Can you buy just a slice of pizza instead of the entire pie? DS loves pasta but cant eat red sauce would they let him have plain pasta with butter?

Thanks

As far as I know there are no towels near the pools or buildings and you need to take them from your room. I think I even read it in my packet of stuff they gave us when we checked in. Maybe a laudry cart was just sitting there when you went and you took them off of that.

Yes....they usually leave the cart by the elevator on the first floor. We always took towels from there to use for the pool, but you are supposed to use the towels from your room and call for more if you want them.

You can order spaghetti without the sauce if you would like. :)

Sounds like maybe your Text Size settings were accidently changed. For Internet Explorer:

At the top of the browser click on the word "View".

Then hightlight "Text" in the drop down menu and select the text size that you like best.

Sorry for the graphics but sometime it is easier to show how to do something then to explain it. Well....at least for me :thumbsup2

Now back to the photos:

For people that have stayed at POP multiple times -- have you noticed a pattern with room placement? The first time we stayed, we were assigned the 70's section, the second we were in the '80's, and the third we were in the nosebleed section of the 90's (you couldn't get any farther away!). For our upcoming trip I reserved a preferred room but now I'm wondering if I really needed to as we might have ended up in the 50's anyway. I know it's not that much difference in price, but converting back to a standard room would pay for 1/2 of an AP.

I figure no matter where our room is, it can't be any worse than our last visit and even that was do-able!

Hi, we'll be staying at POP in September. I need to keep a single dose of medication refrigerated from our arrival on the 11th until the 16th. What are my options? I saw that a fridge is free for medical purposes in the first page FAQ's, but not sure how to reserve it? Or can Bell Services just keep the med for me? It will take up very little space.

Thanks this thread is very helpful.:yay:

This question is for those people that have just returned from POP. Did you happen to notice if everyone was now using the new mugs, or are there still the old style mugs in use? Are there still any of the old-style mugs for sale, or is it just the new style?

I just got back today - only saw the new mugs for sale but did see people using the old mugs. I even noticed someone using an old mug from All Star Music at Pop.

We had a fabulous time and loved Pop Century! We paid for a preferred room and were in 4424 (we did see some windows decorated on our floor from Dis board members) which was on the other side from the pool near the elevators. We were very close to the pool, food court and buses. Honestly can't see any reason to stay at any other resort. We really didn't enjoy the food at the food court as much as some of the counter service places in the parks (we especially like Flame Tree BBQ at Animal Kingdom) but it was fine. Mousekeeping was really nice and gave us tons of extra towels/soap/shampoo (we took the train and had to take showers as soon as we arrived). They arranged the kids' stuffed animals and hats on the bed. The pool was great! It you were there between 4/22 and 4/28, did you see the kids throwing the 3 squishy balls in the hippy dippy pool?

We had the dining plan and ate really well. Spoodles at the Boardwalk Inn was great with great service! Crystal Palace, Liberty Tree Tavern and the Biergarten were also very good. The food at Marakesh was good but the service was not (my husband missed the fire works at Epcot while sitting for 1/2 hour waiting for the check). As we had heard, Sci Fi Dine In had mediocre food but we went for the experience. Would definitely recommend you go for only ice cream there and save your table service credits for something better. We definitely got our money's worth from the Dining Plan!!

We made it to the rope drop at 3 parks and that was a great experience. We were in the first tram on the safari, first car for Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and Tower of Terror (that was just my husband and daughter). Totally recommend Soarin' but get there early. We didn't manage to do it until Friday night after the fireworks when we stood in line for 45 minutes. All the other times, the line was more than an hour for standby and usually there were no fast passes left. Bring rain ponchos if you plan on doing Kali River Rapids - we did it 3 times throughout one day so I was soaked the entire day. Rock and Roll Coaster at MGM really beats you up - I didn't like it at all because of the darkness and upside down parts. Never had a problem with the transportation. Even on the two nights we stayed late at Epcot, they put on extra buses and it wasn't too bad getting back to Pop.

Overall, it was a fabulous vacation!!!

I also wanted to add that the Park Hopper was a great option to have. On Tuesday, we didn't realize that it was early magic hours at Epcot and when we got there it was so crowded so we hopped on the monorail and went to Magic Kingdom where it wasn't crowded at all. We did it again on Thursday when we got to Magic Kingdom and realized that it was early magic hours and way too crowded so we hopped on the bus to MGM where it was practically "empty." No waiting for Tower of Terror, Star Tours, Indiana Jones, etc.

The other advantage with the Park Hopper is if you want to go to dinner at Epcot but spent the day at another park.

Did you book through Disney? If so, just call the reservations and have them add a note that you need a frig for medical reasons. When you check in, just verify that they know you need a frig for medical reasons.

The new mugs don't say the resort, just the year.

Whats to stop people from using them at other resorts then?? I guess that isn't a concern to Disney at this point?:confused3 I'm sure it will make it easier to weedle out the older mugs, so they might end up being more concerned about that. Just my opinion thats all:goodvibes

RE: Frig for medical needs - have it noted on your ressie now. Tell them you have a medicine that needs refrigeration, and that you need to request a frig.

RE: Extra towels -- I called right after we arrived and asked for 8 extra towels for the pool (there were 8 of us) and they brought them over within minutes! Excellent service.

RE: Food court requests -- we figured out as we went along that depending on who was working the counters they would honor all kinds of requests. Just ask. Pasta w/out sauce is a VERY common request.

My fave at the food court was the parmesan chicken, and you could get it with either salad or pasta, with sauce on the chicken or just on the pasta, and either red sauce or white. It was delicious every way I tried it! LOL :thumbsup2
