Thanks so much for the replies. 67" to HDDR, now that's precise! Sounds like spending some time at MK and then heading to HDDR from there is a good plan. If I headed for the MK exit about an hour before our 5:00 show should that be sufficient or cutting it too close?

Yes, I want CONNECTING rooms and thanks for pointing that out because I have been using adjoining interchangeably and sure enough my reservation says adjoining! Oops, I guess I can just correct that when the request fax is sent....

Spending some time at MK and then heading over to HDDR is a good plan. I think an hour is very sufficient. Enjoy the show!

If you forget to change the connecting room request, you can always ask at the desk when you check in. Remember, it is not guaranteed, but they will try their best to accommodate you. :) I hope you like Pop!

:teeth: I calculated it for CleveRocks last year; I don't remember if that was my estimate or his actual time. Oh, oops - except they were staying at a different resort than you are (but not too far - figure 73 minutes)

Just to be clear I did say SOME of the rooms are preferred. I think that is what you were trying to point out.
I know - I was reinforcing YOUR response to BlueJasmine :) And if you need any help with quoting, just ask! Oh, heck - quick tutorial:
To quote an entire post, just click the "Quote" button in that post, then type your response; or, to quote part of a post, do the same - then delete whichever parts of the text you're not responding to, then respond.

Actually as long as you are offering I need help. How can I go about quoting more than one post . I can't figure out how to get back to the posts after quoting the 1st one. Thanks :confused3

This is how I do it, ymmv:
Without using the quotation marks and without leaving any spaces, type
"[ quote = name of first quotee ]"
Then copy and paste whatever portion of that person's post you want to quote.
Then type
"[ quote = name of second quotee ]"
Then copy and paste whatever part of THAT person's post you want to quote
Then type
"[ / quote ][ / quote ]"
Then type your response and click the Submit buttonl. Voila!

(Oh yeah - I do this in a blank word document or e-mail, then copy & paste the whole thing into the Response box here)

Ok, you may think I'm nuts. If you are in say the preferred decade of choice than does it make a big difference if the room is preferred or standard?

Here's my thinking. We would always pick 70's as our 1st choice. We have a stroller and unless on the ground floor will always be usuing an elevator. Since the elevators are in the center does it really matter which you have? Weather your closer to Classic Hall or not doesn't really matter does it? Now I would pay the extra $ to guarentee the sections I want b/c I don't want to be in the 80's or 90's. But I guess I don't see the big deal now. Maybe if I didn't use a stroller, but hopefully we'll have another baby in the near future and the stroller won't be going anywhere for a while. Just a thought.

maxsmom,
My thoughts are the same as yours. That's why we typically pay for preferred and request close to the elevator. ;) My goal is to minimize my walking (because of health reasons). I don't see being on the top floor at the end as an advantage because we wouldn't be using the stairs.

Just talked to my Disney travel agent who tells me that the "preferred" section has been enlarged especially to include top floor rooms that provide a view of fireworks. Does that match with what anyone else is hearing? I like the 70's anyway so I'll stay there!

When we stayed in May05, we were on the 4th floor room 4439, the 50's and could watch the fireworks each night at Epcot. If that helps anyone. ;)

Oh, and one more... when checking in and your room isn't ready... has anyone who stayed recently found that POP still delivers luggage that you bring (not Magical Express) and leave with them in the luggage room, directly to your room if you are not present?

You can ask for late check out the day before your departure - I've been able to check out at 1:00 which is the latest, cuz then they start charging you daily charges. The food court opens at 6 a.m. - stick around until 8 a.m. to watch the CMs do 'The Twist'! I've always had my bags on my person when I check in, so can't answer your Magical Express question. Sorry.
