I appreciate the replies I have gotten so far. Can anybody else out there compare Pop Century to the CBR (we've stayed there 3 times) or any other moderate?

Yep, what do you want to know. I have stayed in virtually all the resorts including Port Orleans, Dixie Landings aka Riverside, Carribbean Beach, Coronado Springs, Boardwalk, Yacht and Beach, Poly, Contemporary, All STars, Hotel Plaza, Old Key West, and POP. We have been staying at Pop almost exclusively the last couple of years. It's clean, fun, convenient, reasonably priced and clean(yes, I know I said that twice)!
It's hard to give a general answer. If you tell me what's on your mind, I can answer to specifics.

I just cant wait... It's almost here. and reading everyones posts has been helping me make it threw..... thanks:cool1: I have called and requested a room close to the hall due to having my ACL replaced 2 months ago.... They have been great and put me in perferred free.... I will also still send ahead my request. How has everyone's checkin's been . I know when i showed up at POR last year at 7 am they got me right in....:cheer2:

TO update...I do not believe it charged my Ipod...just provided the speaker to be able to hear the music.

Does pop have the iPod holders/speakers in the rooms? Ive noticed that the deluxe resorts have them now, I was wondering what exactly the clock raido/alarm clock/ipod holders are at POP? Thanks!

Our stay at Pop will be 10 days. There will be two adults and a 12 yr. old boy.

We normally stay at the Caribbean Beach Resort and the rooms there are larger than those at Pop. I am a little bit concerned about not having enough room. But, that being said, we spend 7 or 8 days at the parks, the majority of another day at a water park and on another day (sometimes two), we sleep in, hang around the resort a while and then go to Downtown Disney.

We are used to having a refrigerator but we drive so if I don't get in on the refrigerator swap, we can always bring along a small hardsided cooler. Will there be enough space in the room for a cooler?

How's the bus stop situation? At the CBR, there's a bus stop at each village and the stops are covered. When we were looking around at Pop, I noticed that the lines at the bus stop are like those for an attraction in the parks. Is there a lot of line breaking or are people pretty courteous? I know that will just depend on the guests at the resort at that time.

Do the buses run frequently? Approximately how long does it take to get to the theme parks and Downtown Disney?

We ate in the Pop food court during our visit but it wasn't at a peak time of the day. It was around 2:00 or 2:30 p.m. How are the lines during peak times?

Let's see......I can't think of any more questions right this minute.

Thanks in advance!

I've never stayed @CBR but think you will be very comfortable @Pop. We are a family of three as well (10yo DS) and have stayed @Pop twice.
The rooms are small but you will be able to fit a fridge or cooler. To save space near the vanity bathroom area we have brought a plastic shoe organizer to keep our toiletries organized (tip from the Disboards...only $1 @Dollar Tree!)

You will love the busses @Pop! I don't know specific distance times but I do remember the bus to AK stops @Blizzard Beach so that dragged the ride out a bit. When we stayed @WL they shared a bus with FW and it seemed like whenever we went somewhere, no matter what time it was we always went through the Fort...it seemed to add so much extra time...we were disappointed in that at a deluxe resort...

The food court can get a little hairy especially in the morning...but for the most part is is very efficient! And the food surprisingly tasty!

Plenty of room!

You will enjoy this resort. There is a lovely walking path around the lake with fun signs to read along the way. Multiple pools and although they don't have a water slide, they have fun sprays. But since your son is 12, the only slides he would enjoy would be at a water park or Boardwalk or Yacht and Beach Club. Everything is nice and close (Something I did not like about Caribbean Beach).

Oodles of room for a frig. I actually bought a coleman electric cooler years ago (it plugs into the cigarette lighter in the car and the wall in the hotel. It was the best $89 I ever spent. We've used it over and over and over and.... Our friends brought a blow up mattress for one of the kids so they wouldn't have to share a bed and there was plenty of room for that too (in addition to the frig)

Bus situation is good. One stop, centrally located. Even the far buildings are close if you walk through the parking lot. As with all the stops now, they use the on demand process. I have never liked it, but it's not a POP thing, it's a WDW thing.

Lines can be long, but they move fast.Let's see......I can't think of any more questions right this minute.

Thanks in advance!

Hope all this helps. You'll really like it. If I had the disposable cash I would stay at the Yacht and Beach Club, but barring that, POP is a great choice.

Thanks guys! The more positive feedback I receive, the better! I don't think we'd be disappointed but I want to be prepared.

Do you know if I can find Pay Mickey at the POP gift shop?

At some point, someone had confirmed that Pal Mickey is at Everything Pop as I see I had included that in Post #1! So you can start the parks out with him through the gates!

If you haven't done so already, make sure you read Post #1...it will answer so many questions you have and those you didn't know you have!!!!

I did ask the CM if Building 1 had ever been a smoking building and she said yes it had been. Maybe she was just saying that because I was complaining about the smoke. does anyone remember what building were smoking? My husband ran into someone on the elevator and they were complaining how they were just that day caught smoking at Pop and were fined $250. :cool1:

Can anyone confirm what the CM told disneyfreak? If it was a former smoking building I NEED to change my reservation to another buliding request. Thanks!

I used gardengrocer a couple weeks ago and they were wonderful to deal with. The prices are not that high except on the fruit which is cheaper in the food court or at the produce carts in the park than through GG.

I just read the post about it being older kids out of diapers that poop in the pool. I don't get that because my son has never pooped in the pool and I taught swim lessons to kids at the YMCA in the past and never had any of them have an accident in the pool either. If the older kids are having accidents IMO that is the parents fault for not taking them to the bathroom on a regular basis and there is one right there by the laundry room.

Building 1 at one time had rooms for smokers. We were placed in a smoking room several years ago and had to move. The people at pop were very nice about allowing us to move.

Then the next year, after the non-smoking policy went into effect we were again placed in building 1. There was not a problem with the room we did not smell any sign of smoke, or have any breathing problems

There hasn't "officially" been smoking in any of the buildings for over a year, so you are just as likely to encounter an illegally smoked in room in any of the buildings.
People should make sure they complain if the get a smoky room. That way Pop can deal with it right away.

Does anyone have a picture of the alarm clocks/radio at pop? Do they have a spot for your ipod? Ive heard some talk about them having a few settings of background sounds like the ocean, etc...anyone confirm this? Any information would be Great!
