:worship: Wonderful thread!
I was wondering about Mousekeeping and tips. I was wondering, if one of the mousekeepers went over and beyond (Animal towels, etc etc) am i certain that leaving a tip the next day will get to that same person? I honestly have never tipped for housekeeping services. We never stay somewhere where I feel it has been completely deserved. (never been to WDW mind you ;) ) I was just wondering how this all is planned out.

Thanks!!

The first time we went our mousekeeper Sue was awesome she made sure we had plenty of swim towels and we had more stuffed animals than anyone else! She also let us know when her day off was!! I saw her again on my next trip and said Hi! But she wasn't our mousekeeper !! We had 2 rooms with 5 people and I left $5 a day plus a $20 I gave to Sue on check out day!!

When we went in April we had an awesome mousekeeper. She signed our door where we had a sign sheet. She made me & my neice tooth brush holders with stickers and a wash cloth. We also had like 3 towel animals the day we checked in! And on the last day she left us a message that said suprise girls on when we opened the door we had 3 towel rabbits in different colors. She left a not saying for the Princesses Ashley, Sharla & Maggie. We loved it!

The ones who do that get tipped better , you would think they would all learn !!

Yea I am sure. She was great & we tipped everyday & left notes!!! Its great to have that extra disney magic when you get back to the room!:thumbsup2

Exactly! I just want to be sure that they are the ones that get the money. I also wanted to bring down a couple Canadian treats just incase I get one of those really great mousekeepers. Do you know if this is allowed? Even if it isn't food... I have no real ideas as to what yet, but the initial thought is there. :wizard:

When the rooms all went to non-smoking did they "de-smoke" the rooms? Like put in new curtains, bedspreads and clean carpets and walls? I know it sounds kind of weird but my DD is very sensitive to smoke and many other things. She is also severely asmthatic, that is why I am asking this stuff. Thanks so much!

Skcmom, my daughter also has allergies/asthma. I hope all is new in the rooms, but just in case when we travel I always bring an allergy pillow cover and sometimes bring a spray called Allersearch that neutralizes allergins and kills dust mites. She is very allergic to dust mites and I use it at home monthly. Hate to think how many dust mites are in a hotel room:scared1: It can make a big difference in her breathing!

This is probably already answered somewhere in this thread but I cannot find it. What amenities are in the bathrooms? Is there body wash or anything for children or should I bring my own? Thanks :).

Here ya go! I doubt it's children specific (like no-tears).

  • H20 brand shampoo/conditioner combo and a round soap bar with a Mickey head on it will be provided; there is no lotion or shower gel
  • Hairdryers are on the wall in your room, but they are weak

Thanks! You know, I read post#1 but I must have missed that. I am packing right now as we go to Disney tomorrow and my brain is a bit muddled.

Does anyone have a picture of the alarm clocks/radio at pop? Do they have a spot for your ipod? Ive heard some talk about them having a few settings of background sounds like the ocean, etc...anyone confirm this? Any information would be Great!

No pictures, but I can offer you this...

  • Although there is a radio alarm clock in the room, don’t forget you can have Mickey and his friends give you your morning wake-up call on the phone. Answer the phone by pressing the speaker phone button so everyone can hear! (Note that in August 2008, it was reported that Mickey and friends must have been on vacation because there was a Hanna Montana song that played when the phone was answered.)
  • The alarm clock/radio has a white noise function; there are two choices which are a babbling brook or seaside; these sounds have been reported as less than natural and very electronic sounding
  • The alarm clock/radio has an MP3 player hookup (for speaker use, not charging)

Do you mind me asking what section you were in?Just curious. Thanks! :goodvibes

We were in the building that faces the petals pool. But we were on the back side facing the lake. It was perferred as we were very close to the main building but we didnt pay for it!

I'm trying to book the Fall special package in a preferred room but apparently for the dates I'm going none are currently available but are for "room only" reservations and a regular priced package. Any chance I'll be able to pay the extra between now and then and get the preferred room or at check-in ?
I'm traveling solo and really like to be close to the main building.

If you look on the maps for Pop on page 1 (standard vs preferred). The area that you are mentioning is actually standard. This is the section that we are hoping to get on our upcoming trip in 13 days!! :yay:

I would keep checking every day. There were no rooms available period for my dates, but now there's preferred and standard rooms available.

I plan on taking lots of pictures and I'm taking a half a day just to walk around the resort! I didn't get to do this last time I was there! We were only there one day and it was our last day!      Also I added my request to my ressie when I first made it and I also faxed the room assigner at 7 days out and the only reason I did was because I looked at it like this we have 2 rooms and it is during FREE DINING and if they do the room assignments 5 days out they will need the fax before that day and they maybe doing them early do to FDP and being busier than normal! So we'll see what happens ! I will be back sometime on the 31st! So I will report back then! But I will be checking in later tonight to see if anyone has any picture requests to add!

Have a great trip! We leave tomorrow. :)

Same goes for me too. If there is anything anyone would like pictures of, let me know. I'll be on-line this trip so I can post while I'm there. ;)

Toodles!
