That's too bad. I thought that all of the values and moderates provided shampoo, conditioner, soap, shower gel, and moisturizer. Guess I'll have to pack some, as well, for my trip next month.

All values & mods only give you the shampoo/conditioner combo, body bar, and facial bar. Even the Deluxes vary on what you get - one resort gave me lotion, and another gave me body gel, but I did not get both amenities.

Buckeye Gal, love, love, LOVE post #1 of this thread!! :thumbsup2 We've never stayed at Pop before and it's wonderful to have everything at my fingertips on the first page in order to be able to plan for it. Thanks for all the work that went into it and continues to go into it to keep it updated. :goodvibes

I am sure this has been asked before; I couldn't find the answer in post #1. What is the closet building to main hall that is not preferred? I currently have a broken ankle that required surgery ( plates & pins ) . I will be mostly healed by DEC but my surgeon warned me that all that walking @ WDW is going to make my foot swell & stiffen:eek: ! So I am nervous and figure any little help would be great in the walking dept. I do have a handicap placard for parking, but I have 4 in my family so I believe I can't get a handicap room because they are only King? Any help we be appreciated so I can call WDW and make my request!

Thanks,

Tami :goodvibes

I would splurge on a preferred first floor room if I was you, but if not you could request 60's not preferred. The outside rooms(not facing the pool) are not preferred but close to Classic Hall. If you have a car, you might want a room that is convenient to parking as well. I can't help you with that, but maybe someone else will have a suggestion.

I tried preferred but no availability. I did ask for a ground floor as close as possible to main hall. The lady did tell me I probably didn't want a disability access room with a roll in shower? I told her I didn't need a roll in shower just ground room as close as possible? I will keep trying for a preferred room.

Please call WDW reservations special needs and explain your situation. Just tell them you have a special need due to your foot surgery and they will help. They are wonderful! They will find a room for you in a location that will work and can help with the HC room as well. They are there for all kinds of special needs even if you do not required an HC room - but with your foot maybe it would help. Anyway, they understand and will work with you no matter what! :) Just give them a call? Please?

I'm so thrilled to hear that more and more people are finding this beneficial. It makes it worth all the work!!

Please call WDW reservations special needs and explain your situation....

I think that's a brilliant idea and your best bet to being taken care of as you need to be, heartsy77!

Their are property maps in Post #1 that show you the location in reference to Classic Hall. So while you're speaking to the CM, you may want to have that up so you have a good reference point to what they may be able to offer you.

I hope your recovery is fast!

Sorry if this has already been asked or answered, but what times do they do the activities at POP?

We were there last Sept and never saw any activities going on.

My SIL was just there and saw them doing The Hustle.

I heard there was also bowling for the kids.

Anyone know the activies & times??? We are going in Sept.

TIA!

Excellent suggestion! And special needs/requests has very good maps of each resort - it is truly amazing how knowledgable some of the special request CM's can be! Let them help you. ::yes::

I sent you a PM thanks so much!

The smoking byt the doors I thought was pretty dumb spot as all nonsmokers have to go through that area. I tried to stay as far over as I could,as to respect thouse who don't smoke and stuck to smoking sections.

I was looking at this and thought that was really dumb too how it was near the doors! I am a smoker (yes I know its bad), but I also try to stay very secluded and by myself when I have one. Nonsmokers shouldn't have to smell/inhale it, and especially the kids shouldn't have to breath it or even see it. So if you know of a perfect secluded spot, let me know :)

Post #1 has a few scheduled activities noted with their times under "Resort Entertainment" (I think!). Bowling would be a new discovery for me. If anyone can validate that, I would love to included it in Post #1.

One thing to remember is that they don't assign rooms till about 3-4 days before you get there, so you can make the request, but it won't be assigned until then.

The one down the steps in front of Petals bar was a bit more secluded than the one up top, So I mainly would go there. But the path aroundthe building was usually pretty bare when I went back there too. I rarely ran inot many people. go off to the left or right of Generation gap bridge a little ways and you will be pretty much by yourself. There are ash trays on some of the trash cans around the path too.

Well we got home yesterday, after staying 7 nights at the Pop Century. I have to say the rooms were a little smaller than we expected but to be honest, when your at WDW your really not in your room that much. We did like the hotel but don't know if we will stay there again. I had seen somewhere that guest there decorate thier windows so that is what we did. We were the only one's on our floor that did so until the next day. Then other people joined in. The kids loved the flower pool but it seemed that they kept having to close it due to unfortunate accidents happening in the pool. Other than that it was good. You do get what you pay for. One more note, the food there was excellent and we loved the DDP. Made us feel like we didn't spend so much on just food.:cheer2:

Fellow POP fans, I've just got to share the joy...only three weeks until I check in! :yay:
Here's hoping for an Epcot view room in Building 4! :hippie:

Just an FYI - That's true for regular reservations that are requests, but not always for special needs. They often pre-block a room and it is taken care of in advance to meet all the special needs. :)

One does need to be sure special needs has the reservation and once they take it over it is locked so no changes to the room location be made except through them to be sure the needs are met. :thumbsup2

Does anyone know if the Mickey Premium Ice Cream Bars are available for purchase anywhere at Pop? I forgot to look for them last time I was there, and I'd love to get one when I check in. TIA!
