I'm so jealous! Have a great trip!

Hi all! There is a fridge swap at POP with lots of JULY dates open. Come join us and use the free fridge! We are the Last Minute Swap at Pop on the budget board and we are on the fridge sticky!
We really need some July goers..LOL so come on and join! :)

I think I read here to check your bill if you need a fridge for medical reasons. Thanks to whoever said that. I was at Pop 5/4 to 5/10 and needed a fridge for my DD's medicine and I was in such a rush our last day that I never looked at the bill.

I was also distracted by a new way that they were doing ME service back to the airport. In the past I had always received my documents telling me which bus to take back the airport the day before I left. That was the same this trip but then on departure day there was another envelope from ME along with the bill envelope on the door when I got up. The ME envelope had a big "IMPORTANT FLIGHT INFORMATION" sticker on it and I was all worried that my flight had been canceled or something. It turns out it was our boarding passes. How cool was that!!!! It made checking my luggage at the resort so fast-I just had to show them my ID as I already had the boarding passes-(and so did everyone else). Anyways that distracted me enough in my rush to get a few extra hours in the parks that I just threw my bill into my bag without looking at.

So I finally look at the bill last night and they had charged me $10.65/night for the fridge. I called this morning and at first she said the medical need wasn't listed but then she saw it. She credited me the $63.90 for the 6 night stay.

Hi!

I loved staying at the Pop Century in May :)

When I have stayed at the moderate & deluxe resorts before, I have always had a "normal" bed. Somehow at Pop, both beds in my room were very hard, (and no, I'm not High Maintenance or a Diva). The second night I put both bedspreads & both bedspreads on one bed, put a sheet on top of those, and slept that way, and that was fine.

My question is, are "all" the beds at Pop really hard? I would love to stay there again, but would have to be prepared to do the bedspread/blanket thing again. Or, do you think it was just a luck-of-the-draw occurance? Thoughts, anyone? :)

I will definitely be back at the Pop, either to stay, or at least for some Tie Dye cheesecake!

Have a Disney Day! :)

I thought the beds I had in May were too soft so I think its a bit of the luck of the draw.

And baby bear's bed was juuuust right.. oh sorry I was telling my daughters a bedtime story. :confused3

No really, the beds we had at POP just a few weeks ago were just right, not too soft, not too hard. ;)

Our beds have been fine too, but I am not really hard to please especially after a long day at the park!!

My DH is really picking about beds (he is a furniture salesman). He normally complains about every bed he sleeps on except for ours. We were so tired everynight that I think we were asleep before our heads hit the bed. He never said a word about the beds at POP.

I'll be staying at the Pop for the 1st time in Dec., and am trying to get ADR's ready. Can anyone estimate for me about how long it takes to ride bus from Pop to the different parks? Also, what's the best way, and length of time it takes to get to AKL from Pop? Thanks for your help.

Congrats on your reservations! Take a look at the Transportation section in Post #1. Hopefully you'll find that all of your questions will be answered for you there. The great news is that the Pop's buses do not share with any other resort and there's only one stop at this resort, so that really helps reduce commute time in comparison to other resorts.

If you are going to be at AKL for dinner and want to get back to Pop, you might want to take a taxi. We did, it took about 10 minutes and was only around $15.

Thanks everybody for the suggestions.

BuckeyeGal - It must've taken you a long time to compile all the info on Post #1. Thanks for that. I think that post answered lots of questions.

And the LaughingPlace trip calculator is pretty cool, too. And it's good to know that about the taxi fare - that's a thought, too.

Just don't know yet whether we'll be flying or driving. Kinda depends on the price of gas. :scared1: Right now Allegiant Air has $100 roundtrip fares but they only fly into Sanford Airport so we'd have to make arrangements to get to Pop from there plus they won't let me book now for December. Imagine that. I've made the 9 hour drive before, and my DD will be with me so we can take turns driving. At gas prices now, I'm estimating $250-$300 for gas. :furious: Even if we drive, I prefer to use Disney transportation whenever we can. DH and I drove last year, and never moved the car once we got there.

I'm excited about staying at Pop, though. Stayed at POR-AB last year and really loved it but we're doing a value this year, and I've always wanted to stay at the Pop. I requested the 50's bldg on my ressie so I hope we get that. Calling today to make my ADR's and order MVMCP tickets. :)

Is there something I'd need to do to have our boarding passes brought to our door...or is automatic with ME?

Sorry if this is in here already, but the search button isn't working. We're taking some quick breakfast items for our room, including english muffins. I stayed at Pop last year and I remember the toasters in the food court and the small things of butter. However I can't remember if they have jelly packets out there too. I don't want to take a jar if I don't need to.

Thanks!

Do they also have packs of peanut butter out? What about cream cheese?

We checked in early before and since we used ME we hadnt gotten our suitcases back yet but we were able to check our carryon bags in at the front where they hold your bags for you.. We went off to the parks and when we came back, we got our bags and went to our room..

Do your carry on bags need to be tagged with your name/address/phone number or does POP have some type of tags they put on them?

You can't get a boarding pass brought to your room. It will depend on what airling you are on, but participating ones have an area where you can check in at Pop and they will take your luggage then. We flew Spirit, which is not a participating airline, so we had to take our luggage ourselves for our return flight and check in at the airport. ME does not handle bags on the return. Only when you arrive. You are always in charge of your own boarding passes. If your airline is a aprticiapting one, I think it would be much easier to check in at POP. I'm not sure hwere this area is though, since I never used it.
