Does anyone know if they sell helium balloons in The Everything Pop shop?
It's my bf birthday when we are staying there and i want to decorate our room while he is sleeping and pop over to the shop to buy some birthday bits

We stayed at CBR last year. I went to the Custom House and asked for balloons as it was DD7 birthday. They gave me balloons that said congrats because they were out of birthday balloons free of charge! Just ask at the front desk during check-in. We also had bought a medium stuffed Minnie from the Disney Store at home and hid it in the suitcase. We put it in bed with her while she was sleeping! When she woke up, she was so excited that Mickey had came to see her while she was sleeping!! I had gotten the balloons later in the day. I told her the front desk had called and said there was something there for her. What a great day!!

Thanks to my fellow Poppers for your sage advice on interconnecting rooms.

Sorry if this questions has been asked a MILLION times already (well, maybe not a million but you know what I mean) but does anyone know when the refurbs are due to be completed?

We'll be there in September, and I'd love the kids to have some refurbished rooms, especially with the privacy curtains next to the vanity unit. They'd be very handy.

I'm hoping to stay in the 50's section again. :goodvibes

The refurb should be complete by then. They have 1 or 2 buildings complete now (70s) and will be working the next 12 consecutive weeks to finish.

Here's the thread I got the info from.

Well, you are asking the wrong group here if it's ridiculous to even consider it! ;)
Right?! :rotfl2:
Minnie&Nana;35594208 My kids are adults now said:
www.mousesavers.com[/url] newsletter and check out the link to discounted tkts - we used it a couple of times. The mousesavers discount is only available through the newsletter link. I might have one - just pm.
Yeah, I love that UT link! I must have given their website over a hundred hits yesterday while working on how i could make this work. I have an OLD OLD ticket that I would probably upgrade and buy DSs tix thru UT.
Nope, don't think you are crazy at all - if you can good airfare, why not? It's makin' memories with your son. :)

So Grandma has some rapid rewards credits that I could extend for $50 so airfare is almost free. It would be wonderful to have some special time with my little guy.

You're not crazy at all!! I took 3 trips to Disney last year! One was with my 2 kids and my mom, one was with just me and my 2 kids, and one was with just me and my sister- no kids (my husband is a Disney-hater, so he declined to join me)!
My DH tolerates my love of Disney. He has been agreeable to solo trips so that works for me. I love taking the kids, but an adult trip is different and fun too!

Have you done the Give A Day, Get a Day promotion yet? We signed up to make blankets for project linus and my 6 year old daughter was able to participate. So, we got 3 free tickets, and you can pay to upgrade them to multi-day passes. Unfortunately, I think you have to be at least 6 to do it. So, my 3 year old son didn't get a ticket.
I am signed up for GAD and perform my service in March. I have a trip planned in October for the Wine & Dine Half. I could either use my GAD ticket and upgrade it or use my old ticket and upgrade that. It doesn't really matter which I do on which trip.

This is the DIS, nothing's ridiculous! Personal note tho, SW weekends are HUGELY CROWDED in THAT section of HS (MGM). The rest of the park is virtually empty, but if you have a SW fan, be prepared for CROWDS. jmho We were there in 2006 one day that weekend. An early start is a great idea, but it FILLS UP quickly, in that area.
Hmmmm, good to know. DS doesn't know all the movies yet but I thought he would get a kick out of seeing the characters and taking some pics. It was more a "DS would love this - I should take him"!

So if I decide to go forward with this, my next decision is do I want to just take DS or should I let Grandma (who's coming with on my Oct trip) come with and then I'd bring DD (just under 3 in May) too.

Although Grandma said she'd buy DD's airfare (not sure how she has the $ but whatever) and of course she'd split the room with me. The only extra expense for DD is a little food (she mostly splits meals with DS). But this changes hwo the trip works. DD needs a stroller while I was hoping DS could tough it out for the short trip. DD still naps and we ended up going back to the room every day in Dec (maybe it was easier for DH versus trying to get her to knock out in the stroller. She did it on our first day but DH was SO stressed we didn't try it again). And DD would likely need to go back for bedtime earlier than DS. Though they both have similar bedtimes at home I think DS could stretch it without being too crabby the next day. The plus side is Grandma could stay in the room and I could go back out to EMH!

So which option do we think is better. Mom and DS trip or family trip w/o DH?

I am going out on a limb here and say Mom and DS - that was your first idea to have some special mom & me time with DS. ::yes::

When I begin reading all the additions if Grandma and DD would come it changed the trip entirely....I say you and DS...it really sounded so sweet and special when you asked if we thought you nuts for even considering it. :thumbsup2

That's my nickel's worth!! :goodvibes

Good morning POP People! We're leaving in 15 days (YEEEEEESSSS!) And I want to try to stay in one of the newly refurb'd rooms.. should I call WDW's reservation line and put the request there or wait till closer then call POP and request directly? Or both??

Thanks!

You can't call Pop directly, it wil lstill go to a call center. You should have it included on your reservation, so call now and have your request added

Hi all:) we are staying at Pop for the 2nd year running in May. Last year I faxed through a room request, but they never got it and we got a room in the 80's block - this was fine, but a little far too walk for a quick snack/drink for us or dd. I would like to get a room in 50's or 70's this year and have been advised to fax/call 10 days prior to departure - how definite is a room request? Actually I dont htink we even want a specfic room, just block :thumbsup2 love the pop thread:lovestruc helped me no end with our first trip last year:worship:

Fax, but do it 4 days prior, not 10. They make room assignments 3 days before your arrival, so it can get lost before that, and you wnat it to be fresh in there minds. No request is guarenteed in any way though. Also have your request in with your reservation too.

If your old ticket is a mulitday one it cannot be upgraded. Only a single non used ticket can be upgraded...just so you know. I have 3 old mulit day parkhopper tickets, with 1 day left on each, burning a hole in my pocket..LOL

KimRaye, thank you so much for your kind words. I will pass them along to DH. I don't want to say that we have given up alot for this life because its all I've ever knows (Im a navy Brat!) Having said that though, It is hard to plan for trips!!! But we are about 75% sure that he will be able to make it on this trip but we have insurance just incase he can't. Sadly, if he can't make it, it wont be the first trip he has missed. Since our kids have been born he has wanted them to have memories like this and no matter what he wants us to go this year!

You HAVE given a lot, whether you know it or not! You've lived it, know nothing else, etc., but I don't live that life, YOU do! I can somewhat relate because my DH plows snow in a Chicago suburb, so HOURS are crazy, but your DH spends MONTHS away! I truly appreciate ALL our servicemen/women and their families and what they do and sacrifice - vacations included! They truly NEED those vacations! I pray your DH gets his vacation with all of you! :goodvibes

I totally agree with KimRaye! We are so lucky to have people like you and DH, PyratePryncess. Not only people who are deployed for long periods of times, but also the wives who stay home and have to do it all. You sacrifice many things so that we can all live safe lives. There are never enough words to say Thank you!

I hope your vacation happens and isn't one more thing a deserving family has to sacrifice.

Add my Thanks to you and your family!! We all live safely because of our miltary and I appreciate the sacrifices you and all the other families make to keep us THE LAND OF THE FREE!!

Ok so you guys are making me tear up right now! To you guys it is a sacrifice, to us its life. We have missed out on some things that other families get to do but we live a life we love! Its all i've ever known and it's all DH ever wanted to be when he grew up! Being in the military has given us some of the best friends we could ever meet and the ability to deal with almost anything life throws at us. My children are healthy and happy and thats all I can ask for. I truely hope that DH will be able to make it on this trip but if he can't I am at peace because he will be doing what he believes in!!!!! I am going to pass on all of your words to him....I know these days he doesnt hear them enough. What I can tell you though, is that no matter what people say about our military and the things that we have done and are doing, he loves his job and we wouldnt change our lives for anything!

Pyrate_Pryncess--By the look of things we will be at POP at the same time. So sorry to make you tear up, just wanted you to know how appreciative we are of everything your DH and family does to keep my family safe and free.

We are coming to the pop in July from July 7 thru 13th. We were at a moderate, then have a pin and changed to a deluxe, but then with everything going on, you don't want to get over your head. We like the Pop.
Everyone stay safe:yay:

I was going to stay at POP this past trip but was afraid of the room noise. Is it that bad? Walls paper thin? Can you hear the other people in the room next to you? I stayed at POR and it was great. The only noise was the toilet flushing. I really dont have the money to do a mod. So it is either the POP or off site. TIA for any info.

Go with Pop!!! I have never had a noise problem but that is really the luck of the draw !! The toilets that people complain about being loud have never bothered me !!You can at times hear people in the next room but I have never found anyone to loud !!Staying OFF Site somehow just isn't the same !!!

We stayed at the Pop Century in 2007 and loved it. We did not hear any niose at all. No toilet flushing and no people talking in rooms. We are going back in 54 days and cannot wait. Go and enjoy it is a fun resort.::flower3:

We stayed at POP, had 3 rooms next to each other and didn't even here them, let alone people above us or the pool noise, we were right on the edge of the pool
