We are doing our longest stay ever this June- 11N/12D!!! ALL my past trips were shorter, and done commando, to get everything in! This time, we're taking it easy! And, in order to guarantee that, I only got 7 day passes! ;) There is ALWAYS something to do! :thumbsup2

I told DH that I wanted to stay for 9 days in November at the POP. He said that I always had to go to extremes.

Is 9 days too long?

We were there for 9 days last year. It was a good length, but it actually would have been nice to have a few more days. 9 days was just enough time to get through the things we really wanted to do.

Our last trip was 7 days. It was a little long for my DW but not long enough for me. I figure a vacation hasn't really started until you ask, "What day is this?" We did have a couple of major rain days that made us slow down and get some rest. I like a longer trip since I don't feel rushed to open and close the parks every day for fear I'll miss something.

Pace yourself and enjoy!

I would love to go for 2 weeks!!!

I don't think so at all. Last year we did 10 nights/11days and I think that was great. We got to do just about everything we wanted to do and didn't rush things.

This trip we're doing 7 nights/8 days and I'm a little disappointed!

We did 14 days and 9 days last year. To me if I'm going to spend the $ to get there I want to stay for how ever long I can!

Once free dining comes out, I'm switching from 6 nights/5 days to 9 nights/6 days. It was really inexpensive to add the extra nights plus since it's part of my family's first time (not mine), we don't have to feel rushed.

If we do 9day/8night we are have to stay at the POP. (twist my arm) I love POP & is has the best bus service..

I think my DSIS wants to stay somewhere nicer. Why, you are never in your room & Nov. is too chilly to use the nicer pools at the Moderates.

Just booked our 2nd Pop trip today for Sept 22-29!!! Booked with room only pin, but I'm hoping for free dining. This thread was SOOO helpful while I was planning our June 2009 trip, so I came back again. We had a preferred room last time, but we're trying to save as much $ as possible this trip, so it's a standard room for us. Does anyone have any good standard room recommendations (not actual rooms...sections)? We LOVED being right by the Hippy Dippy Pool last time, but I'm sure my DD will get over it. She absolutely adored Pop.

WOW!!! I thought it was gonna be awhile before you guys went back....Can I say how jealous I am! That is wonderful. I need to know your tricks...so I can use them on my DH. LOL!

I seriously thought we weren't going to go back until at least 2012. I must say, I pestered him quite a lot but that's not why he caved in. I think with the pin I got and me constantly talking about free dining he started thinking about it for real. It will truly be the last trip with just the 3 of us since we want to have another child (we're aiming for a late June/early July birth). We also ended up getting more money than we thought when we did our taxes which was wonderful. However, once again, we have to put off getting me a new car. Oh well! Disney is much better. :thumbsup2

Thats fabulous. I keep pestering mine too and mentioning every PIN I get. But he just says we WILL go back, jsut not when.

I will need a room with a raised toilet and the extra bars in the tub this year due to health reasons. Does anyone know if these rooms come as dbl/dbl or king only. I have been in rooms close to the transportation in the past because I have difficulty walking long distances also. And lastly if the room comes only as a king room does anyone know if they will give me a discounted room to connect to my room so the kids have a bed. Thanks to anyone who might be able to help me.

I have similar issues, so understand.

Best to let the CM know when you book your room (or call back now) that you have some medical special needs and will require raised toilet and grab rails in the bathroom. They will call special needs dept with you on the phone, and make the arrangements. POP does have HC rooms with 2 beds. You can also make a request for a certain bldg and if they have those rooms in that bldg will do their best to honor that request. Special Needs will block a room and be sure you get the type of room needed. :thumbsup2

If you worked with a travel agent just let your TA know and she will call.

If you do not feel your requests are met after speaking with a CM, call Special Resort Reservations: 407-939-7807 option 1. You must already have a reservation to speak with them, but the CM at regular reservations should be able to take care of everything for you. :goodvibes

Hope this helps! Have a great trip.:goodvibes

Thank you, I will notify them this week.

The accessible rooms with a roll in shower may have king beds because the space in the room needs to be configured differently to make the bathroom larger. This means the bedroom part is smaller, which is why they often place one king bed there.
The rooms with raised seat toilets don't have that same problem since the bathroom doesn't need to be any bigger.
As far as I know, Disney has grab bars in all their tubs. You can also request things like toilet seat risers (if the room doesn't have a raised seat toilet) and shower /bath chairs. The Special Reservations number can help with those things.
