No problem. You will get the hang of stuff here fast and learn some really good info!

Thanks, I am very new to this. This will be our first trip to Disney:)

Welcome to the DIS and POP thread. The POP is so awesome, your going to love it. If you decide not to do a stroller trade, if the child is a little older (not infant) you can get one of those fold up lightweight strollers. Back in the day we just bought a cheap one and it worked great. We even gate checked it on the plane and used it the airport. Then if you don't want to return home with it, just give it to someone who looks like they could use it right before you go home.

The thing I really REALLY love about Pop is that the bus stop is right near the food court which makes it convenient to get something to eat and drink on your way back to your room or on your war to the buses in the morning. That's something that is making me nervous about CBR.

That's too funny 'cause we love the buses at the CBR. We like getting dropped off very near our building instead of having to walk a long way. At the CBR, you can get off at Old Port Royale (food court/store/main pool) bus stop and then walk to your building.

Don't worry about transportation. It was great!

Thanks for the reassurance. I am just worried about there being one bus stop for the entire resort. I am used to having a bus stop at every village (at the CBR).

We never really noticed a problem with the buses. Wasn't bad at all.

Would I have a good chance at getting a request filled to have a room where we can see the fireworks from Epcot? This would not be considered Preferred right? We are going 10/2-7....TIA

We have stayed at POR, CBR and POP and we have rarely had a problem. Don't worry so much about it and just go with the flow.

I need to know is that POP Century has a good view of EPCOT! And Where to see the Illumnations!

From what I have read and seen for myself, the one bus stop is much closer to all the rooms than the many bus stops at CRB. It doesn't take too long to get anywhere on the property.

No, Fireworks view is standard. There is no way to tell if they will fulfill your request. All you can do is ask, and if it isn;t fulfilled when you check iin, you can ask if that area is available.

You would most likely want to be in the 50's section. But if I rmemeber right you requested 80's or 90's. Those won't see it.

I keep telling myself it can't be any worse than the one line at the parks at the end of the day.

That is the worst it is - I hate that one line at the end of the day :(

Course we drive to the parks a lot too because we don't like that line at the end of the day.

Pop is a lot smaller than CBR. Nothing is more than a 5 minute walk from the bus stop.

Leaving the parks wasn't a problem for us either. On a Saturday night, we watched wishes from the hub and then left with everyone else. Since we were near the back of the crowd, I expected to wait forever for a bus. We only waited 6 minutes.

Dropping in to join your thread! We'll be at Pop for the first time from August 24-30. It'll just be me and my DS16 for a change of pace, and we're really looking forward to free dining. I appreciate all the work that went into this thread, and although I haven't quite read all of it yet, at least I got through the first few super-informational posts!

I did requested the 80's and 90's! I thought the rooms are Preferred room!

If you paid for a preferred room, you won't want a room in the 80s or 90s.
80s/ 90s are not preferred. The only preferred rooms are in part of the 70s, part of the 60s and part of the 50s, the rooms closest to the main hall/food court.
Also, preferred would not have a fireworks view.

If you would rather have that view or that location instead of a preferred room, then call back and change to a standard room.
It's cheaper, and you can request either 80s /90s, OR lakeview/fireworks view.

The fireworks are best seen from a higher floor also. Or you can walk up the stairs or take the elevator up to a higher floor to see them.

Hope you get it all worked out! :wizard:

Another question about fireworks...would guests in the 50s bldg be upset if guest from other bldgs stopped by to watch? Is it usually crowded on the walkways during fireworks? Don't want to step on anybody's toes, literally or figuratively!:goodvibes We requested a 60s poolview preferred room because we want to be in the middle of the action aren't bothered by the possibility of extra noise, but watching the fireworks would be nice, too.

We are leaving in 9 days for our first stay at Pop and we are SSOOO excited, although the threads on crowd levels and park closings this week are making me nervous! Anybody staying at Pop this week that could fill us in on crowds at the hotel? Just wondering if we have to go to Plan B and do the acticities at the hotel if that's been crowded too.

No one will get upset if you venture to another building. Just be courteous and don't block the stairs or hallway. Also, the other guests won't know which room is yours! :thumbsup2 Best area is the 50's buildings,

I do want to mention that the parks are EXTREAMLY PACKED! I personally was at EPCOT on Friday and I don't recall it being that busy at EPCOT in a long time. Here is a thread about MK over the past couple days. I adivse to scroll through, that way you will have an idea of what to expect.
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2142686

But you will have a BLAST! And you will have great weather! Don't forget to walk all around POP. There is alot to see!!!

Is it a good view of the fireworks or are they far in the distance?

Do a search for "fireworks" on Page 1 of this thread. There's a link I've put in Post #1 to a picture someone took so you can get a fairly good perspective. pixiedust: Also, you'll see a link to a map that shows you the best viewing spots from various buildings.
