Hi everyone!! We will be staying at Pop for the first time this July. All 18 of us..:scared1: We ususally just go with my parents so this will be interesting for sure. We were at Sports but we have some younger children and I thought the zero entry would be better among other things so we switched over. Have any of you bought or had a birthday cake delivered to Pop? We will be celebrating my son's 5th birthday. I so wanted to do the Mickey package where they come into your room and decorate but that $200 is a bit much. I have decided I am making my own basket and mickey footprints to suprise him.

Off topic: Jen, I have been lurking in your TR and am loving it!! :lovestruc

Thanks! Just about to post another installment. And join in, no need to just lurk!

Pop doesn't have an zero entry pool, unless you are thinking of the baby pool?

They do have steps into the pool though. It is very fun there though. I am always trying to think of a way to get back. I plan several pretend trips a year. LOL! :rolleyes1

Just curious what is the "ZERO" entry? Also I have seen cakes in the foodcourt back section but can't remember how much!!!

Hmm, I thought I read that one of the pools was zero entry but I don't think it was the baby pool. Obviously I am wrong on that one. Now my whole vacation is ruined... Just kidding. :lmao: Zero entry is when there aren't steps into the pool. It starts out shallow and then gets deeper.

The baby pool is the only zero entry I know of! I agree with Jen though... very fun!

We are heading back for our second trip this year in Sept! (unless of course I can convince DH to swing for another trip before then!) LOL!

I am wondering if I should ask for a lake view or not? The lakes dont seem very big. From a video I saw, they just looked like large ponds. Would it be better to have a lake view, or a courtyard view?

I still have like 4 months before my trip, but I want to make a special request ASAP. Should I call right away, or should I wait?

I'm requesting lake view just because I think it will be quieter! Actually I'm going to request a "quiet room, top floor, lakeview if possible". I need to call because there was nowhere to add this when I booked online. Now I'm trying to decide if I should ask for a certain decade - I was thinking we wanted the 70's or 80's more but now that I hear the stuff about the fireworks, etc. in the 50's, maybe that would be cooler? Should I just do my original thought (quiet!) and leave the where up to them?

I'm returning to the Pop in about 8 weeks and I'm wondering... what are some great things to eat at the food court? The last time I was there I ate a lot of pizza and shrimp lo mein (yum!) and twinkie tiramisu and carrot cake.

So what else is good?

I loved the Chicken Penne Alfredo. So Yummy!

Yep, chicken penne alfredo - yum! I also love and crave the asian chicken salad.

I didn't even know they HAD chicken penne alfredo! That sounds sooo good. Wow, I really need to check over that menu on allearsnet :)

SOOO yummy. I also love Disney nuggets so I eat lots of those. The chicken ceasar salad and turkey ciabtta were also SOOO good. I already have my first day's meals planned out. I'm checking in, getting nuggets and fries, then for lunch chicken penne alfredo and more nuggets for dinner! :rotfl: My DBF thinks I'm crazy. He could be right...

On this topic, do you think there is enough variety to eat at the food court for dinner for 3-4 nights on the trip? It'll just be me & DS16, and we plan to hit the parks early and probably end most of our touring days with a lunch ADR, rather than try to go back to the parks in the evening. I know we want to go a couple restaurants that don't have lunch (Garden Grill, 'Ohana), so those days we'll do lunch in a park. However, most nights I'm thinking we'll be back at the resort by mid afternoon, do the pool and relaxing thing, and eventually get to the food court. Or will we be sick of it by the second day? :confused3

I think there's DEFINITELY enough variety for dinner 3-4 nights. Just check the menu on allears.net.

We haven't stayed at Pop yet but will be in August. In August, 2008, we went over to Pop to have a look around and check out their food court. Since we hadn't had lunch yet, we decided to eat there. I had the chicken caesar salad. My husband had the vegetarian calzone with sauce poured over it. Our son had some kind of flatbread pizza. Everything was really tasty. We were actually very pleased with the variety of foods to choose from and made the comment that we could probably eat lunch or dinner there for a week and have a different meal every time.

Yay, I finally caught up!!!

This thread has me so excited about staying at Pop. The days are going to drag.
