I believe this was the CM who was attacked by another CM. From the reports they new each other and there was some sort of relationship there (obviously not a healthy one) so the evente was not "random" .

Ah ha, I wondered what was the outcome. Thanks

Okay fellow Disers...how much is it to get the internet? I saw somewhere that it is $10/day...is that right? Do they cut you some type of deal if you get it for a week? We are going for 8 days and I can't live without my email!!!

Another thing...is it wireless or wire connection? if it is wire connection, does the resort provide you with the wire? :worship:

Thanks!!!
5 more days!!!! :dance3: :dance3: :dance3: :dance3: :dance3: :dance3: :dance3: :dance3: :dance3:

It's $9.95 per continuous 24 hour period. I didn't get any kind of break on it so what I did was get internet every couple days. Although I have email and texting on my cell phone so I wasn't going too crazy.

I DID have trouble with the internet and the techies happily credited me a night charge, even though I'd already used internet during that period.

Actually next time I'm thinking of skipping taking the laptop altogether. Lot easier for me to just buy an extra memory card for my camera and skip the laptop- too much hassle on the airplane.

Hi all,

New to the site, but excited to read all your great info. We'll be returning to "POP" this Easter! YEAH! Anyone else going at that time?

So unless the free dining announcement comes out before the 31st of March, right now it looks like we'll be doing a split-stay between POP and AKL, since I got a 40% off PIN good starting the 23rd of August.. :woohoo:

I have a couple questions about the free dining...

How do you know when they offer it? Is it announced to everyone or just some people(like the PIN's)?

Also, how does it work? I think (I have never used the DDP) there are 3 different plans? Right? With the free dining which one do you get?

TIA!

After much thought, we've decided to switch from the Contemporary to the Pop. I've been feeling so bad spending that much money with this economy, so I decided to give Pop a try. I'm really enjoying reading this thread. I think my kids will love the look of the hotel!

We will have a preferred room...Can anyone tell me where these may be???

TIA!!!

Planning first trip to the World :cool1: and I will be a solo female:banana: . Need some advice for best building, floor, etc. for a woman traveling alone. I was really thinking about a 4th floor room in a "quiet" area. Any suggestions? By the way, I will be there September 19-26th. Hope to see some of you there!!!!:yay:

OatsZoo asks : Question...is it really worth the money for preferred rooms at Pop? We had preferred at Movies and were soooooo close (1 min walk) to the food court we could get a coffee and walk right back to the room. We had preferred at POR and we couldn't, it would take 6-8minutes to walk to and from the food court.

Is it worth it to pay for preferred?

I did time the walk from one of the furthest area in the standard room category and it was about 6-7 min vs the 45 seconds I had from one of the preferred rooms in the 50's section. Of course, not every preferred is this close and not every standard is this far. But you do run the chance of getting a room in the furthest 90 section if you book standard ? I just booked another two nights for March 20-22 and asked for preferred. To me, it's worth it. But to some, it doesn't matter much.

Does anyone know what is the best building that is closest to the car park for it...? I have a baby and a kid and I dont want too walk far at night from the car to the room. I have booked for the first week in May preffered room. Thanks

I'd have to say, for preferred rooms, the 50's section bldgs 1 and 2. Bldg 3 in the 50's is further from parking........bldg #1 has to be the best for both parking and food court. I'd request that.

Is Pop Century is next door to Typhoon Lagoon? Tell me the address of POP Century!

I was concerned about this and just had Disney note on my reservation that I would prefer a room in a well-lit area as I was traveling alone. The reservations agent swore that all Disney areas were well lit and safe, but was happy to put the note on there anyhow.

I stayed in room 5472 (building 5, fourth floor corner room close to the elevator). This building faces the Hippy Dippy pool so it is not what you would consider quiet probably- but I never had any problems with noise. You hear a smidget of the people in the room next to you- but you'd get that anywhere.

The building was close to the main building and bus stops. Only thing I can say about fourth floor is you either have to walk up the stairs at night- or use the elevator. I used the elevator at night and stairs in the day and never had a problem.

HAVE FUN on your trip- going solo is a blast!
