Does anyone know what is the best building that is closest to the car park for it...? I have a baby and a kid and I dont want too walk far at night from the car to the room. I have booked for the first week in May preffered room. Thanks

We were in building 1, non-preferred, and it was great for the parking lot.

Add to your request "closest to classic hall and parking lot." Then they'll know what your priorities are.

We don't use our van when we're there, we just use the buses. The bus is especially useful for MK, because you avoid the trams and the boat or monorail, which would be a big pain with little kids, especially when they are sleepy.
The other parks are not as bad.
All this to say, so people prefer their cars, but the buses work pretty well also.
We just like to be near to our van for hauling luggage, and getting extra stuff out.
Happy planning! :wizard:

Is Pop Century is next door to Typhoon Lagoon? Tell me the address of POP Century!

I thought you were staying at All Star Movies??

Typhoon Laggon is near, but not next door. Pops address and all other important info is on the first page, first post.

Am I the only person that requests a room FAR away from the main buiding and whatnot?

While this will be my first stay at Pop Century (actually first ever 'on-site'), I did request a room far away from the main building-----a quieter room racing the lake------and made it known that distance/stairs, etc. would not be a problem. No guarantees of course. . .

:offtopic: Off topic here. . .but. . . I'll be there this Saturday!!! (Just got a call at work from Garden Grocer, confirming my order) I'm sorry. . . I'm just getting a little bit excited here!!!!! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

Nope your not alone. Some leave it to the room assigners. Some like lakeside and don't care how far it is. Some like the further buildings because there is lots of parking close by. Some just don't like to walk and want to be close to busses etc. Whatever your preference there are others who like the same things and others who don't. :thumbsup2

I will be there Sunday! I feel your excitement. make sure they have my room ready! LOL!

I wouldn't have a problem with wherever they put me, I don't mind the walk. Dh however thinks that it would be a sin to have to walk extra so a preferred room it is.

We have a 7:15 ressie at Chef Mickey. Does anyone know if the shuttles run that early?

/
We are doing the 8:30am tour (they want us to check in before that) at MK on a day when it opens at 9am....can we make it in time on the Disney Buses?

We have 7am-ish reservations at Chef Mickey's too. Is it not ok to just drive over and park there?

Lovin this thread! I have a 2 yr. old that naps lightly, and DD 1 with ADHD that freaks and tunes in to every noise, so I think that a lakeside room would be our best bet???? I know there is going to be noise everywhere, just trying to think of the best places. Right now we are standard, but don't might upgrading if it will help our girls sleep. Any advice to the best lakeview areas to request? Would love 60's with a view of the fireworks, it's also close to the kiddie pool. THinking 4th floor would be quieter, are the elevators a hassle? Any experience from anyone?

We driving, and are going to play out the bus system by ear... Is it free to park car at outher restorts for the day? I.E. Breakfast at Ohana, then leave car at Poly, monorail to MK, and then take monorail back to Poly at end of day????

HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lovin this thread! Looking at the map, it looks like pretty much every lakeside room is preferred? Hi flipflopmom ... the preferred rooms are marked in yellow so none of the lakeside rooms are preferred, except maybe the ones at the far end of the 60's buildings. I have stayed in Building 6, 4th floor lakeview and Building #3 3rd and 4th floor lakeview and found both of them very quiet. I imagine that the lakeview angle of both 60's buildings #4 & #5 would be quiet as well.

Do you have a white noise generator they are used to or do they need complete quiet? I sleep with the sound of ocean waves.

You edited while I was researching. elevators were not a problem for me. You could certainly request 4th floor with fireworks view. that would give you higher floor lakeside and quiet.

I don't know about parking your car. Since you have breakfast at Ohana I don't see any problem with leaving your car there. I always use the bus so I haven't had to deal with parking the car. I unpack it when I arrive and pack it to leave. Otherwise it sits there.

we're good on white noise - DH has sleep apnea and his CPAP is great for that! Thank you so much. What do you think the chances are of me getting this if I request it with the info about DD's above?

I read that there is an in-roof safe. Is it free of charge? I really want to put DD's meds in one during the day since it is a controlled subtance!

Negative. You will need to take a cab.

Hmmm... I'd check with the resort on this. I know I've read ppl. talking about how they have the buses running by about 6:30 or so for ppl. with early ADR's. It seems odd that they'd offer you an ADR that early, but no transportation. I know for a fact they have buses running by at least 7:15. We had an early ADR at MK (MK opened at 9, no EMH's that day) and we were picked up by at least 7:15. I'd call before spending money for a cab.

Ah, a CPAP. Me too. There is an in-room safe which is free of charge. It has a large key that you'll need to carry with you. It's big enough for a 15" laptop. so it's not very wide but I had no trouble putting meds and other items in it. There should be photos of the safe somewhere in Post #1. I have some photos of it somewhere in the Pop Century Pictures thread as well.

Do include in your room request the need for a room where your child with ADHD would be comfortable. That makes it a medical need. I don't know if that would help but it could. It would depend on availability as much as anything else. But do mention it.

If you are staying on property and have your car they will give you a paper that you show to all the CMs that are at the entraces to the parks and resorts so you will not have to pay to park there. You are only "suppose" to park at another resort if you have a restaurant ressie but once you are done you are "suppose" to leave and park either at the parking lot of the park you will be spending the day at or at the Transportation Station. We had an early morning(7:50am) ADR at Ohanas and parked at the Transportation Station, took the Monorail to the Poly, took the Monorail to Magic Kingdom and then took the Monorail back to the Transportain Station when we were ready to go back to our car. Just make sure you have everything with you for the day and make sure the Monorail to the resorts is running early enough to get you to your ADR. (I can't remember if that Monorail starts running at 7:00am or 7:30am. Does anyone else know?)
