I would say the only slight negative is that the smokers area has been situated right at the entrance to the Classic Hall - so you have to go through a mist of smoke at times in order to get into the food court or to go to the buses. It was never terribly bad, just puzzling as to why it had been placed there.
.

This is unfortunately very concerning to me because my youngest daughter is a severe asthmatic. Is there a way around it?

:snooty:Oh I am soooooo jealous.....I have to start a new ticker I have about 1 yr 3 months to go....I will book in about 3 months....

Oh the torture...:sad1:

ENJOY :)

Ok I think I can answer this one for you....Yes you can avoid it by taking an alternative route and using a different entrance to classic hall....it may mean a few more steps on your family's part but definatly better than the possible risk of an attack.

if you look at the resort map from the 1st page of the thread http://www.wdwinfo.com/maps/PopCenturyMap.pdf

You will see that from the 80's 90's you can use the entrance just outside of the bus stops which takes you into the gift shop/food court....from the 50's you can use the entrance that is used for check in & check out guest. If your in the 60's or 70's you can redivert using either of the above suggestions or you may notice that earlier in the a.m there may not be quite as many people if any in the area.

I hope this helpd and that others responde too....It will be fine :)

Would it be best to request a 1st floor room with a 4 year old with a stroller? What's everybody's opinion? Also, which building is best (I know there could be many different opinions) but if we use buses which one is best. I'm thinking about at the end of the day and when we're tired. TIA! :goodvibes

Ok I always request ground floor.....especially since I have a stroller. Though the bulidings do have elevators anyway.

I originally requested the 50's on my last trip but was placed in the 90's WE LOVED IT HERE!!!

So easy and quick to get to and from the buses....also there is a parking lot there so when we went off property the cabs always dropped us that much closer to our rooms.....just my opinion

You can deffinately avoid the smoking sectionit, it'd just be nice if you dind't HAVE to. We just held our breath walking by every morning. Ask to be placed in 60's, 70's, 80's or 90's and you'll be coming form the opposite direction. We were in 50's and came from the direction where we had to walk through it or walk around to intentionally avoid the smoke.

Just got back on Sunday... first Stay at Pop. Really enjoyed it. Got our room request no problem (First floor, 50's or 60's lakeview: faxed 4 days prior to arrival). Room was quiet except the plumbing- no biggie.
Food was decent. Learned they no longer had frozen cokes AFTER we purchased the mug for that purpose unfortunately, and never used it after that.
A duck had baby ducklings we saw every morning which was cute.
Pools were not crowded.

thanks for everyone's advise on here!

To be honest, I don't think it is something that would actually affect anyone, and the guests who were smokers did seem to be considerate on the whole. It's just odd that it is placed there.

I agree... the smokers were considerate in their designated areas, and did nothing wrong- it's just poor placement. it's avoidable though. see it once and you know for future reference. It's nothing that'll cost you time on your way to buses or anything...

It wouldn't effect anyone who can breathe normally. A severe asthmatic child, who is hospitalized multiple times a year, yes, it would affect them. No matter how considerate they are, the smoke will be in the air... :sad2:

I have a question about tipping bell service. I tried a search but came back with no results. I read that it is not a traditional bell service- that they deliver your items within an hour or so after you leave it at the luggage area. That's a long wait. So do you tip when you leave the items in case you are not in your room when they deliver them or do you wait in your room till it gets delivered? How exactly does that work? Thanks for the help.

What items are you having delivered? Like a fridge? If so, I beleive you have to wit for them. I don't think they deliver your bags though for the most part.
I suppose you can tip anyone you want though. LOL!

Weellllll, since you ask.... :lmao: we have booked the flights and we are going to Disneyland in Anaheim in 4 weeks time!!!!!!!!!!!:rotfl::rotfl:

How awesome. Is it a spur of the moment one, or did you have it planned.

You will run into smoking sections all over the parks too....just to let you know.

LOL - Guess I am NOT looney its the norm around here ofcoarse!!!!:rotfl2::rotfl2:

Ahhh...I love this place...makes me feel normal.....hey maybe those other guys are really the crazy ones...:confused3

Thanks for your reply! :goodvibes I hadn't even considered requesting the 90's, is that far from Classic Hall tho? Really, the most important to me is access to the room after a whole day at the parks when we're tired. I'm going to call and make my request soon, we don't go until Sept. but I'm thinking ahead.
