The Good, the Bad, and the "you've got to be kidding me!" Trip Report

All caught up again. I keep getting behind thes past few days. Wonderful update. I can't wait to hear about
Space Mountain. I rode it this year too. It had been 10 years since I rode it last.

But we just cannot afford to go to Disney every year so we have discussed that every other year is sufficient...plus there are other locations and activities that we, as a family, want to do

For Example....Williamsburg, Charleston, SC, Savannah, GA

I have been enjoying your TR very much. But this quote made me want to ask you.

Have you ever considered buying into DVC? My family and I love WDW and we used to space our trips out because of the high cost. In 2006 we planned a special trip before our kids got too old and we stayed at AKL. Long story short while we were there we went to the DVC sales center and I was shocked to find that the cost of our current trip would have paid for about a third of a suitable DVC contract for my family. On top of that the resort rooms are OMG! I wanted to check out of AKL and spend the rest of our trip at SSR. Anyway for my family DVC has allowed us to enjoy WDW more often and it was not as expensive as I had thought. I don't work for Disney btw LOL, its just when they say DVC is Disney's best kept secret for us it was.

I'm caught up! I'm caught up! :)

Can't wait to see how the end of the trip went and if you had anymore "you have got to be kidding me" moments! I hope not :)

Sam-
I agree my DH, the Math Guy, figured our DVC would pay for itself 3 trips!!! and the rooms were WAYYYYYYYY nicer than normal! Plus I will save some by having a full kitchen for snacks and light meals!! and washer and dryer right in my room Wooo hoooo we can't wait this will be our first trip home!

(Sorry Clara for hijacking)

my MIL is scared to death of flying...so guess who wont be going.....

I need to behave!

Behave woman! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I can't beleive you had a 90 minute wait for the fairies. This is the main thing that Chi wants to do! I don't wait for anything longer than 30 minutes tops!

I remember when they used to have shows at the Diamond Horseshoe too! Eating there is one of my fondest memories of WDW. Not because of the food, but the show was fantastic. So much fun!!

I think this is an awesome way to celebrate your degree - nursing, right? Too lazy to go back and I check. I have been a nurse for a gazillion years - went into it right after highschool. I am an NP (nurse practitioner) now in cardiac surgery. It's hard work, but rewarding. I wish you much success!

Thank you, I should have changed my degree from education into the nursing...life would be a lot simpler now :sad2: (simpler--is that a real word?:lmao:)

We SOOOOO want to do DVC but right now with me not working it is just an added expense that we just cannot afford...We have already cut back on a lot of stuff....I figured that when we go down for my 'celebration' one of the first things we are doing is DVC Sales Center!! DH and I love the idea but we are so strapped for $$$ it is just not feasible.

I'm caught up! I'm caught up! :)

I knew you would understand!!

Just Remember TOONTOWN opens at 10:00AM!!!

**sigh*** oh the memories!

HAppy Mother's day everyone (who are mothers)!

I received breakfast in bed from my daughters....I heard them talking about it and I woke up to hear them banging about in the kitchen...I tried to get DH out of bed to check on them so they didnt create a disaster! Actually they did pretty good....an eggo waffle with strawberry syrup and a bowl of cheerios with a glass of milk....

please note....I cannot digest milk fat....I can do skim milk or soy milk but not 2% milk which I get for the girls and I knew my skim milk was gone....so I ate the waffle and DH took a gulp of milk for me to show that some was drank....I love my little chick-a-dees!

Friday, DD8 had her field trip to Luray Caverns and it was great. I took a couple pictures and I will up load them later..I just need to make sure no other children are in those pictures.

Sounds like you had a fantastic mothers day!!!
Now I am still waiting to hear about Space Mountain!!!!! LOL ;)

Loving your trip report. Just read the whole thing while DS is at preschool. Took DDs when they were 7 and 9 and ended up renting a double stroller for them. They were a little big but it saved on a lot of whining. I wish they rented strollers for "Moms". I'm sure Dh wouldn't mind pushing me around all day!! LOL! Anyway, can't wait to read the end.

I started my new job today...

My morning client is an Alzheimer patient, I go in the morning and get her up and showered and dressed. Then I will make sure her morning meds are taken with her breakfast. She is what you would call a "moderate" case. I had to introduce myself several times today. But I was prepared and she is a funny lady when she has a clarity moment. Her husband of 60 yrs is the primary caregiver and my heart goes out to him as he is not in the greatest health either but he is a sturdy figure in her life...

Keep them in your prayers....

Hope you enjoy your new job. My Grandad had dementia and it is a very cruel illness.

I seriously forgot where I left off.....:confused3:lmao:

After big thunder, we went down Main street to do some shopping for my nephews. We wanted to get them something that you CANNOT buy at Walmart or Target. We looked and looked but we couldnt find anything that really caught our attention...

We ended up getting them a bunch of little stuff, nothing too exciting...they are almost 4 yo and 13 months...

We headed back to Splash Mt to use our fastpasses.

You have got to be kidding me!

The ride was broke down and would not be up for several hours!

This is our last day and it is DD5 FAVORITE ride....What the HAY!!!!

Granted, we did ride it earlier in the week...

We decided that it was close enough to dinner ressies to head over to the Grand Floridian.....

So we hopped on the Monorail and made our way over....

This is what greats you when you enter the resort from the Monorail.

I had a "moment"
I actually started crying and I have no clue why....it was beautiful! Dh just rolled his eyes and told me I have 'issues'...and I quickly replied

'being married to you for 10 years would cause anyone to have issues'!

:lmao:

that shut him up!! if only for a minute....

we got lost trying to find 1900 Park Fare...dont ask me how but we did! :sad2:

I was not all that thrilled with it....same food they serve at every buffet and it was REALLY stuffy and warm in there.

Prince Charming was not all that charming and Cindy was not very friendly

DSCF0217.jpg

But she was Fabulous!!!!!
She interacted with the girls really well and Dh and I were laughing our pants off!

DSCF0218.jpg

Look at that 'smile'!!:lmao:

After a rather disappoint supper (with the exception of Lady Tremaine!) DH wanted to take the boat back over to the MK...I am always up to try new things at WDW. It was a relaxing ride and the sunset was gorgeous!

I didn't get a picture b/c DD5 was sitting next to the railing and wanted to put her hands in the water :scared1:

Needless to say, she had my full attention!:sad2:

YAY! An update! :)

Sorry to hear about 1900 Park Fare I've heard interaction is great, but food is iffy. Sounds like you had the same review.

Now, that update was MUCH too short, you owe us another - PLEASE!

I have to tell you I might send a comment to Disney Cinderella was not very fun???? Seriously that could kill the magic for some ya know???
Okay ummm SPace Mountain??????? your leaving us hanging here darlin!

Sorry your dinner wasn't great. That's horrible. And sorry Splash was down! :sad2: I surely hope things look up! This is your last day!!
