The Good, the Bad, and the "you've got to be kidding me!" Trip Report

We did the 1900 park fayre dinner last year and I must admit we really enjoyed the food. Maybe they have good and bad days.

Shame Splash was down - so disappointing.

We did 1900 aprk fare the last 2 trips and totally enjoyed it, but I have heard of others not caring for the food too. I must say you must've got a good lady Tramaine. We have had 2 different ones and I really didn't care for either. But Claire seemed kind of scared both times too, so maybe she sensed that and moved on quickly.

So......

We arrived back at the MK via the boat from Grand FLoridian.

After bag check, at the ticket booth a cast member looked at DD8 and asked if she was a "Coal Miner's daughter"...DH was wearing his WVU camo hat again. :sad2: That Boy!!!

She looked at the cast member if he had two heads...we struck up a nice conversation with the cast member. I love moments like that!!:cloud9:

Well, we had two fastpasses, one for Splash Mountain and the other for Space MT.

Which way did we go?!?!?

I chickened out and we headed towards Splash Mt. :lmao:

It was up and running, so we jumped on and had a great ride!

It was a little bittersweet as this was the last time we would ride it for at least another two years. :sad1: So I made sure to enjoy every moment of the ride!

After Splash Mt., we headed towards Space Mt. My anxiety level is starting to rise....i feel myself getting scared...I am actually more nervous about DD5 riding it in a seat all by herself.....she is my baby girl and I am scared that she will fly out of her seat and we are in the dark, I cant see her or hold her!!!

WHAT THE HAY AM I SUPPOSE TO DO!!!

DH to the rescue...we measure her at the entrance to the fastpass line, she just makes it by a hair!! Literally!!

Then he suggests that DD8 in the front seat, DD5 in the middle seat and him, in the third seat....he can easily reach and hold DD5's shoulders...I have to carry the back pack....whew...I could handle that!

Being the paranoid mommy that I am, we REmeasured her before we lined up for the "cars"...she is A-O-K says the Cast Member!:thumbsup2

Well, this is it...we get into our seats...

with my super "mommy" eyes, I watch the CM check DD5's seat and lapbar, DH has his hand on one of her shoulders....Yes, Houston!! We are go for launch!!!

Wait, no we are not....I had to have the CM help me with DH's backpack and the lap bar....why do I feel like I got the short end of the stick on this deal.

Okay...finally we are off...

Houston, we have landed.....

and I was not that crazy about it... The only thing that I can think of is that I tensed my neck with the oncoming turns and twists and ups and downs...so when I got off..my neck hurt...I am still going to ride it next time we are at MK but this time I am going to stay relaxed and go with the flow. Literally!

I was excited that I finally did it! The group that got off before us was a rowdy group of friends and when they saw DD5, they all gave her high-5's, we all laughed! I even called my mom to tell her that I FINALLY rode Space Mt. She was tickled and we told her about some of the other great stuff that happened. I didnt tell her about the bad stuff.

We then rode the TTA one last time and then headed to the castle to catch Wishes and the Parade....We specifically waited on the bridge to see Tinkerbelle fly during the fireworks.....

the little hussy didnt show! How rude!!

We did get a couple good pictures!!

After the fireworks and parade, we headed over to Peter Pan's Flight...we still ended up waiting 90 mins for that ride.....

WHY, would someone please explain to my WHY the wait for that ride is sooo damn long?!?

After Peter Pan, we said goodbye to the MK and got on the bus back to our resort. It was sad to leave but in my heart and mind, I knew the next time I would be back, it would be after my college graduation!

It was a quiet ride back to the resort, we walked slowly back to our room...savoring every last minute, absorbing the sights, sounds and smells....

I bathed the girls and tucked them in bed...then I set out our clothes for tomorrow and packed up the heaping mound of dirty clothes, plus all the extra stuff we bought....:sad2: I all but sat on the suitcases to close them!

I set the alarm and went to bed knowing that in 24 hours we would be sleeping in our own beds....what a lovely thought......

YOU DID IT YOU REALLY DID IT!!!!!!:cool1::cool1::cool1:
Way to go Clara!

I know its bittersweet that you will have to wait 2 years BUT think about how super special your return trip will be!!!!
So much to celebrate next time!

I'm glad the MK night closed out without any "you have got to be kidding me" moments.

Space Mtn is fun, but yeah - I don't see the huge hype. We love Thunder and Splash WAY more. I cannot believe you waited 90min for Peter Pan that late at night. I'd have fallen out asleep by then LOL

Now waiting to see how your trip home is.. anything crazy happen? :surfweb:

First of all, your pictures of Wishes are absolutely incredible!! So beautiful. I'm glad you all had fun! And way to go riding Space Mtn!! :thumbsup2 My DH is SOO bummed because it will be closed when we go. He said it was one of the only things he remembers from when he went as a kid, and he really wanted to ride it again! :sad2: Oh well...there's next time. Wow--I can't believe your TR is almost over... :guilty:

That first picture of Lady Tremaine is hilarious! Who is she staring down?! Sooo funny. I'm glad you were able to work up the courage for Space Mountain (I'm not a big fan either) and that Splash Mountain was back up and running. Great report Clara. :)

aww last day. I do the same on Space Mountain. The muscles in my neck and so tense! I need to lighten up and try to just enjoy it!

I always think if you don't have to sit on your suitcase to close it - you haven't shopped enough and should go for another try!!!!

Yeah :thumbsup2 for Space Mountain!!!!!! Wish I could see your pics, but I'm here at work. blahhh!

Yay for Space Mountain. I was unimpressed ith it this year. I thought it wasn't as good as years past. It was more "rickety" and I swear it used to be so much darker in ther. I could see the tracks this year.

i KNOW! I was thinking.. 'crud, I have to top that with mine in June'. LOL my PTR is puney :( Oh well, you are just that much cooler then me LOL:worship:

I am sure your Trip report will be great!

Making my rounds tonight to look at all the pcitures I can't see at work. You have some really nice firework pics! Nice job!

Loved your last day. In fact I have loved your entire tr. I feel like I know your whole family so much better now. :goodvibes You have such a wonderful attitude. In spite of all the 'you've got to be kidding me' moments you still managed to have a wonderful time and more importantly you have created memories for your girls that they will cherish forever.

I have to laugh about you singing the "Imagination" theme before the ride. That is something I would do and it makes my dh just as nervous...LOL

Great TR so far! I'm glad your daughter's fever finally went down enough to enjoy the trip. Sorry about your dh's aunt.

I profusely apologize for not yet closing out the leaving for home day.....

I now have a second patient in the afternoons who has lung cancer and has been given a window of 6-8 weeks. The spouse is beside them self as they have never been separated since they were married 46 years ago.

I will admit that the couple are wonderful and they have made my life richer by knowing them.....

Also, this is the last week of school and they are doing fun actives, so I have been running around with them. The girls found out today who their teachers are for the fall and I was tickled with the results...there are a couple teachers there that I do not like and I do not want my child to be taught by them.

Times are super tough in our house right now...we talked with a mortgage company about re-working our loan without refinancing (as I dont have money for closing costs!:sad2:) and they are sending us the paperwork to do so....

if the paperwork doesn't go through then I am afraid of what will have to happen next...:sad1:

so please say a little prayer

On the brighter side, DD8 was awarded a free movie pass because she displayed Fairness...Good Job!!!

So we scrounged up some $$ and went to see Night at the Museum 2.....

We really enjoyed it and DD8 had just learned about Amelia Earhart and the Wright Brothers in school...so she was all excited about that and was displaying her information to us on the car ride home.

We are actually going to take the girls to the Smithsonian in July...they are free...and we only live about 2 hrs from DC, so it is any do-able day trip.

I have some pictures of DD5 from her dance recital a couple weeks ago

ENJOY!!
