The Golf Cart Thread

Here is a quick 'sketch' of what I am hoping to do.

Sleigh-Cart-1.jpg

The wheel base needed is really kind halfway between a two seater and a 4 seater (forward-facing, that is, which usually means 6-seater). I drew this using a 6 seater as a template and had to move the rear wheels forward to get the right look. Feedback is welcome.

Ok I would have said this was the best cart at FW but it was elec. not gas. But it still looked good.

Thanks for the thumbs up Lone Star! However, this cart IS gas - My company built it for a client in North Carolina. It has a 24 hp Honda V - Twin and an EZGO High Speed rear end, along with MANY other custom parts that we offer in our vehicles! Top speed (goverened) is around 38 mph. This vehicle will be featured on the cover of Golf Car News in January...

Very cool. I thought I saw a charger sitting under the rear seat when we drove by the guys campsite thats why I thought it was elec. Never saw it running. If its gas then thats one cool cart. Both of my carts are gas. I just keep waiting to blow the motor so I can big block it. So do you go to FW?

We hit Disney every couple years, but do not stay at FW - No motorhome!! Sure looks like alot of fun there in the Wilderness, though. I get quite a few calls from new customers that see our vehicles there - our custom carts are always easy to spot!

You could always rent a cabin in FW. That way you can bring your cart and ride around:thumbsup2

We thought about that the last trip, but ended up staying in a condo that was offered at my kid's school annual fund raiser. School got the money - Business got the write off - Had 10 days in a 'small house' w/ 3 bed rooms, 2 bath rooms - you get the picture! I really don't want to drive that far with a trailer (well the trailer isn't that bad, maybe it's the amount of time in the truck with kids - LOL)

Things are GREAT Tungpo1 - We've been really busy at the shop. How about yourself?

It's funny how you find different Forums and threads! I've had quite a few calls from Disney visitors during the Thanksgiving Holidays. We evidently had 2 or 3 of our custom carts in the Wildnerness then:yay:

Hey Mike just looked at your website I knew I had heard your name before. I had ran across your site a year or so ago. You make some clean carts.

Shan...my PM priveldges have been revoked...but I saw this on on ebay and thought it would be a great starting point for you if you are good with installing electric motors and wiring, etc. If not, it may be more trouble than its worth!!

very cheap 3wheeled cart

Tungpo...Im still around!! Im just laying low for a while till the mods stop hating on me!!!

Looks like your signature privileges too! :lmao:

It's great to see you're not completely banned! :rotfl2:

Yeah...I'll take what I can get!!! Beats being banned for life!!! Just gotta wait for someone to come along and cause more trouble than me, then I wont seem so bad anymore...where's the many personalities of DisDawg when ya need them???

I gotta FLAT TIRE on my cart today!!! I barely take it out and I keep the tires shiney with Armor All, but it seems like it has dry rotted anyway. Now I need to decide if I should tell the wife in order to replace the tire I have to install a lift kit....she just might fall for that. Of coarse a lift kit would allow me to use my 17"rims that are just sitting in the garage collecting dust, and then Id need 2 tires!!! Heck..those wheels have been sitting for so long, I might need to replace all 4 tires. So...my delima....buy a new tire for around $50, or lie to get what I really want(but honestly cant afford)and cost myself $500....decisions, decisions, decisions.........Ive never been a very good liar.....I have a feeling I'm gonna be contacting Ron for a new tire.

Ron, you dont have any used 205 50/10's sitting around the shop ya wanna sell, do you?

Rog, good to see ya posting again and thanks for thinking of me. I think this cart might be a bit more trouble than it's worth by time I pick it up, drag it home, drop in a motor and buy batteries. I can get a cart locally with relatively new batts (and a motor!) for under $500. But the whole project probably needs to wait until the master bedroom is done... I need to buy a bit of good will!

Here is a question: I have been looking at pics of other's cart projects and have not seen anything that looks like a brake assembly. Do carts use motor resistance for braking? If so, is it regenerative braking (i.e. does it charge the batteries)?

My carts are gas but they have drum brakes in the rear only. Not sure on elec but I would think it would be the same.

my elect. has drums on rear, no front. My cart is a regen.

Seriousyl though which one would you bring to the fort, The Black CC, Red CC, or the Yamaha???? The other two CC's are those we no longer have.

How many people are you traveling with? The black cc looks very nice..but no rear seat, the Yami is nice too, but again...if you have kiddos...they aint gonna be too happy.

I like the yamaha but I have 2 yamaha's. I saw you have a big block sticker on the side of it so if it is real loud then I would leave it at home. Both of my carts are gas and I have never had a problem. But I know big blocks are loud and disney does not like loud. So then what Rog said.

Rog you better start posting more or I am going to have to try and be witter to make up for you not posting and we don't want to go there.

Talking about carts seems to lure Rog out of lurkdom.......
