The Frickles Family goes to Disney! How to Valet Park & Make $100! LAST chap p18!

Frickleypoo - I was going to make a comment about your leis, but decided I had better watch my phraseology

Sweet pics of your adventures.

OH, Frickles. I so wish to have been able to join you girls partying at PI. At the EIGHTIES bar, no less!!!! (89!) Sadly, the 4 AM wakeup call that morning and the day o' traveling had us pretty wiped!

Anyhoo, that picture is awesome. You all look so happy, despite Manny's lame attempt to thwart the fun.

Keep rolling!

Frick,

You were way too nice! I can't even imagine what I would have said when the CM asked for the $30 back!

And I KNEW it -- Sher got carded everywhere didn't she?

Great TR!

Just turning the page...... :wave2:

Can't wait to hear what hubby said about the car.....

Frick... Great TR, I can't wait to read more, hope you finish before my family leaves in 11 days!!!! :cheer2: We are also staying at POR!! :cool1:

If any of my other meet buddies have started a TR and I haven't pointed it out, be sure to let my scattered mind know!

I'm sure you mentioned mine back a bit.....just a bump too

Mine is there, but keeps disappearing off page one!

Things that will make you YAK!

You know Yak, I had not even thought about that. Another point we've thought of is what if we had to use Lil Frick's epi-pen and it was locked in the car? (peanut allergy) I really was too nice that night. We all were.
I for one was too mentally drained and too happy with my buddies to take on the battle with the CM.

Thanks for reading! Any comments about the situation are appreciated because I still think I am going to write the Poly a letter. The more I think about it, the more :furious: I get!

I think you were to nice too, but that's your nature!

I just kept thinking what if you were with the kids and DH. And I totally forgot about the epi-pen!!

Anxious to hear about the next day and how your DH took the news that the car was kept hostage at the Poly.

Love the installment and love the pics of you and the girls!

Wow. When you look back on how bad that "key losing" scenario really could have been, it's a little scary. Especially with the epi-pen.

But I would have done what you did. Just tried to be nice and head back home. Where I would have been met with an IRATE Mr. NM who would have marched around the Poly until he was speaking with the highest person on the food chain. And getting results. And reminding me - with a tone he will have to apologize afterwards for - that you don't give up until they've corrected their mistake. :teeth:

Another great installment of a fun, fun trip. I look forward to reading some more. So get to work, friend! :thumbsup2

NM

I have been loving your TR so far.
I can't wait to hear what your DH had to say!
Don't keep us waiting much longer.......

Hi friends! I promise to get back to writing soon! With Halloween, fall festivals, field trips and the such, I've been swamped! Hang with me and thanks for reading!!! :teeth:

Frick - Late to the party as usual, thats me. Except that everyone is blaming me cause they went home :confused3 I took them all hostage cause I didn't want to foot the bill alone for the cab :lmao: :lmao: and actually I think Jami might have got stuck with it :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Thanks for the refresher from an evening in paradise :cheer2:

Everyone woke up nice and early at 8:30. Yeah, I am calling that early since I had gone to bed so late. I rolled over and said to Mr Frick “You will not believe what happened to our car last night”. I know he is probably thinking that I ran in to something. I have had many run-ins with things that just jump out at you like garage doors, trees and houses. I quickly tell him the story about Manny and the Poly and he just can’t believe it. He’s like me. Stunned that a valet car parker would take off with my keys. He was not mad at all. In fact, he was pretty darn glad that I wasn’t sitting there telling him our car had to be towed since I wrecked it.

I jumped in the shower and we began the getting ready process for a FULL day at MK. No down time today. We were going to hit it hard. And I felt like a big tub of goo. I had me a slight little hangover. Kinda queasy in the tummy and fuzzy in the head. Yucky. But worth it.

I tried to look half-way normal as I got dressed because we were supposed to meet more Dissers!!! We were going to meet some of the gang for a ride on the Haunted Mansion! You see, we all have this sweet friend in common, Mel 1000thHappyHaunt. Do you know her? You should. Her TR’s are off the chain and she is a hoot. Mel is the main reason we are all buddies now. Maelstromers. She has informed us many times that Maelstrom is a Fastpass?! We have made fun of Maelstrom for so long that we chose it as the site for our BIG Dis meet. Unfortunately, Mel couldn’t make it to the meet so we decided to ride her favourite ride, the Haunted Mansion, in her honour. (I’m speaking Canadian) The meet was scheduled for 10:30, and we were looking good to make it, until I called the Poly.

I had thought and thought and thought about what I was going to ask the Poly for. Yeah I was ready to pull out the big guns. It was perfect too. It wouldn’t cost them any extra money and it would make our whole family happy, happy, happy.

I wanted fast passes for the entire day at Magic Kingdom. I wanted the big daddy fast pass that works for every ride. I felt we deserved it. I wasn’t afraid to ask for it….even though I didn’t really know if it even existed.

I called the Poly on the hotel phone since it was free, asked for the valet station and found out that my keys had indeed returned and they offered no explanation as to where they had been. Gee. Manny finally decided to give my keys back. I’m sure he got one big whopper of a butt chewing. At least I kind of hope he did. They offered to drive my car over to POR for us. I quickly said no. I didn’t want them getting in to my car and moving it again! Mr. Frick didn’t either. I asked them if I could please just leave it in the lot since we were going to be enjoying the Magic Kingdom that day. They said it was fine to do so, and then I asked to speak to a manager. I got put on hold.

I was on hold for a long time. I was on hold for so long that I think Mel finished her TR from May. Oops, my bad. I just looked. It still isn’t finished. heh. heh. ly/mi

Back to being on hold. My family was hungry and ready to cross the beautiful bridge to the food court. I hung up, gave the boys their brand new Disney disposable cameras I had found at Wal-Mart for $4.99, grabbed my back pack full of junk, threw in two squirty fans and we were off. I whipped out my cell and tried the Poly again. Finally I got a manager. Great, it turned out to be the same girl who helped me the night before. The same one who jipped me on the return cab fare from PI. ( I would have paid for it myself, but I didn’t think the cab company would swipe my Disney key to the Magic for payment. )

She was very excited to tell me herself that they found my keys, without any explanation where they had been, and again I was asked if I wanted them to bring the car to me. I said “Sure! Be sure you let Manny drive it over and it’s o.k if he stops and does his grocery shopping and gets his CRS medication refilled while he’s at it”.

I hope you all know what CRS is. If you don’t, PM me.

I explained to the Poly girl that I wanted to keep my car there since we would be at the MK all day. In my mind, that was better than parking in the lot and riding the tram. I then broke the news to her about what I wanted. “I would like something in return for this incident. I would like to have a magic fast pass to use in the park all day.”

Silence.

“Mrs. Frick, I can’t do that for you. You’ll have to take care of that at the park”.

I hung up discouraged. They didn’t want to kiss my bootie any more. The keys were there and so they were done. I knew I couldn’t just waltz up to a CM at Guest Relations and say “Hey guess what? Manny at the Poly took my keys home with him last night and my car was stuck there and now I want a magic fast pass for all the rides. K?” That wasn’t going to fly. I told Mr. Frick that I didn’t have any luck. His reply was, “Well they did give you and your friends drinks last night plus they gave you a cab ride to PI.” Yes, he reminded me to be grateful for what I had gotten and not to sit here and beg for more. I was over it.

I called Horsey because I knew that we weren’t going to make it to the HM meet. I had been on hold with the Poly too long. We were running behind and plus, we were going to have to navigate the bus system. We stepped in to the Food Court and I looked for something to cure my hangover queasiness. That usually means I need grease and a coke. As I was scanning my choices, I saw a CM dumping strawberries all over a plate of something. I got a little closer and Hallelujah! Mickey Mouse Waffles!!!! I told you all already that I love those things. I am even asking for a waffle maker for Christmas. Don’t you know you are old when you are asking for a waffle maker for Christmas!?!?! They are like $80 or something, but if it makes a waffle as good as what I have there, then it is worth it.

Moving on.

I don’t know how I missed those waffles the first day. Oh but I had my little slice of heaven on a plate with some crunchy yummy bacon and I was good to go!

We ate. I ate a lot. It had been a long time since we ate at 50’s at 4:30 the day before. I still felt queasy.

We found the bus stop and made our way to the MK without a problem. As we got off the bus, Mr. Frick said “My sunglasses. I need my sunglasses and they are in the car.” Great. We decided to split up. He would ride the monorail to the Poly to get his shades and I would get through bag check and stroller rental with both boys. Believe me friends, we came up with a meeting place and we had a plan a, b and c if by some chance we couldn’t find each other. We learned our lesson.

I took us about 45 minutes to go through bag check, get in the park and get our stroller. It was hot. It was crowded. It took forever. The boys were miserable. I felt disgusting. My queasiness turned worse when the stomach cramps hit. Oh joy. But I was NOT going to complain. Nothing was going to ruin our MK day. I dragged both boys kicking and screaming in to the women’s bathroom. They wanted to be on Buzz, not standing in the women’s washroom waiting on their mom to go. It wasn’t pretty. None of it was.

I did not puke. But I think I could have.

I went back out to the meeting spot and found Mr. Frick. Yeah! We were officially ready to roll. I sucked it up and put a big smile on my face as we walked down Main Street. It wasn’t too hard to do. That walk can make anyone better. Going in is MUCH better than going out, so I had good reason to smile.

Up next: The Tour Guide Frick Skills…a good reason not to forget your TGMike agenda. Keep scrolling down because Chapter 15 is a few posts down!

Yes, I think the Big Mack Daddy Fastpass does exist! I read somewhere that they are giving them out for the Year of Dreams. It's called a Golden Fastpass. Now, if the park people had lost your keys....then you would've gotten it. At the Poly, just drinks and a cab I guess. Sorry about the hangover...for a second there I thought you were gonna ZZUB at the MK. Did Mr. Frick get his sunglasses from the car? I was hoping you would loan him your Nikes. ;)

LexMelinda, he did get his glasses! I left those Nike shades wrapped up in Disney paper towels inside a zip lock baggie for about a month. I couldn't touch them.
I lead an outdoor walking class and I was looking ridiculous in my cool girl shades, so after several rounds of Lysol, several baths in scalding hot soapy water, followed by several more rounds of Lysol, I put them back on. :thumbsup2

Glad you got the keys back and Mr. Frick didn't have a cow when you told him! :teeth: Not sure what Mr. Obsession would have done! (Who am I kidding...he would have been glad I got back OK.)

Can't wait to hear more! Please post more pics...I  seeing them!

Frick, Frick, Frick.

I have a few things to say.

First: As my mother always says after a night out, "Those who dance, must pay the fiddler" And you did! Pineapples will do that to you! :rotfl2:

2a: You are a brave woman!!!

I don’t know how I missed those waffles the first day. Oh but I had my little slice of heaven on a plate with some crunchy yummy bacon and I was good to go!

Asprin and a coke would have been all I could have handled!!

3.45: Mr. Frick was right, sort of.

Yes, he reminded me to be grateful for what I had gotten and not to sit here and beg for more. I was over it.

I'll send over Mr. YAK's handbook of mad skillz of turning a Customer Service disaster into a happy situation for all involved. In the past we rec'd far more for far less ;)

11.2:
I dragged both boys kicking and screaming in to the women’s bathroom. They wanted to be on Buzz, not standing in the women’s washroom waiting on their mom to go

What, no pictures???? ;)

:rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl:

Thanks again for another great chapter.

And we missed you at the HM and Splash!!!

What is it with you and the massive amounts of pig products anyway? Geez, girl, branch out to other animals, will 'ya?

Oh dang it was crowded with a capital c at the Magic Kingdom. A perfect day to leave my TourGuideMike tips back at the room. Here I had spent money and time getting those bad boys and I left them behind. Shoot.

Since Buzz was heavily on the boy’s minds, we hit it first to grab fastpasses. We took it on over to Lil Frick’s favorite ride, the People Mover aka TTA, and we rode it two times.

Disney2006321.jpg

It was such a peaceful ride and I got to take a little more time to recover, or as YAK said “pay the fiddler”. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not a lightweight nor did I get slamming drunk the night before. I think the fact that I put alcohol in an overly tired body and didn’t get a whole lot of sleep was taking a toll on me.

After our two relaxing rides I went to tackle my favorite trick. Please don’t flame me for this, but it works every stinking time so why not? I discovered this trick on our last trip. Maybe you can put it in your bag of tricks too. I think just about anyone can do it.

I walked up to the fast pass entry for Space Mountain and found my prey, I mean CM. I got a dazed and confused look on my face and asked him “How does this whole rider-swap thing work? My husband and I really want to ride but we have a child who can’t and I just don’t know how we are going to work it out”. I get the spill about how one of us needs to wait in line for the ride and as we exit, we ask for a rider swap pass that will allow one adult plus another child or two (can‘t remember) back in. I look towards the line and say ‘oh….okay’. Then the CM hands me a rider swap pass and I smile real big and thank him muchly.

I skip off happy with my victory. We shopped around while we waited for our time to ride Buzz. We finally got the green light to go in. I’m not saying who won. After we rode, we grabbed four more fastpasses for later. Chef Mickey was having us over for some lunch so it was time to go. Before we left, I went to see if the Space Mountain fastpass line CM was still the same or not. Big score. It wasn’t. So, I walked over to her. Did the exact same dazed and confused routine, and walked away with another rider swap pass. Sweet. Apparently I can pull off ‘dazed and confused’ really, really well.

We parked our stroller near the main gate and left for the monorail station. I was hot and not feeling so hungry. I was still a tad queasy. The boys were pumped about Chef Mickeys! It is our favorite place to eat! You know I got lucky because I couldn’t get an ADR for CM until one day when I called the DD line for the 47th time and they had decided to add a lunch buffet. I was thrilled. Thrilled I tell ya. Chef Mickeys is the one place that Big Frick requested to go to so I was happy to get him there.

I scored us seats in the front of the monorail. Apparently the driver and I had something in common. He seemed to have had a late night too. He was paying the fiddler. He wasn’t too magical. What I am trying to say is that he was a big DUD. But hey, that is o.k. We had fun regardless.

Disney2006327.jpg

We made it to the Contemporary and checked in for lunch. It was sooooo not crowded and the air conditioning was a welcomed relief! Just what I needed to come back from the dead.

They took our picture and I took a picture of the picture they took of us so I could have a picture of our picture to live in our computer like all our pictures do. I have NO PLANS to print this, so don’t flame me. pretty please.

Disney2006332.jpg

The lunch buffet turned out to be really great! I can’t remember what was on there, but it was great! We had a great seat by the window. All was good. I need to say great one more time in this paragraph. Great.

Here are the boys with Pluto. They dig the character interaction tremendously!

Disney2006330.jpg

I had to get in a picture with Minnie. I just had to. Even if I did look horrible.

Disney2006336.jpg

We had some napkin twirling fun.

Disney2006338.jpg

Mr. Frick even got in on the action.

Disney2006339.jpg

A great time was had by all! We sat by a family whose only child was turning one. It was his birthday and what a way to celebrate! We watched him try to blow out his candle. It was so cute. Mr. Frick noticed that the baby didn’t have an autograph book, so he talked to the boys about sharing one of their blank pages with him. Mr. Frick was trying to spread a little pixie dust. I was impressed. He got a page over to the family for them to use. They were touched. It was a sweet thing.

We raided the dessert bar and I felt like a champ again! After we left, we went shopping in my favorite store. The gift shop to the right as you walk out of CM. I didn’t buy anything because I wasn’t sure if I really did need a Mickey Mouse sweat suit, Tinkerbell purse or a set of ‘The Seven Dwarfs’ golf balls. I might have had a case of buyers remorse, so I refrained.

We hit the pin cart and spent about thirty minutes looking at every pin. My boys really got in to the pins this time. It was cute. We were all refreshed and happy and ready to tackle the heat and crowds again. We hopped on the monorail and took off. We got stuck for 25 minutes at the Grand Floridian. It was great to see people run and nearly bust their butt to get on it real quick, and then we would still just sit there. It kept me amused.

A big happy family joined us in our car. I say big because there were four teenagers and a younger girl. After about 5 minutes of sitting there, I heard the father say that he had to tell them something. He announced that he had upgraded them to a huge suite. It was a magical moment. The family was thrilled and cheering and that daddy was Da Man! I was hoping Mr. Frick was listening because I would love for him to pull that on us some day. I almost got teary. What a pixie dust moment!

Up next: Will I get my first Dole Whip? What a cliffhanger! I'm sure you'll be racing back to hear about it! :teeth:
