Oh dang it was crowded with a capital c at the Magic Kingdom. A perfect day to leave my TourGuideMike tips back at the room. Here I had spent money and time getting those bad boys and I left them behind. Shoot.
Since Buzz was heavily on the boys minds, we hit it first to grab fastpasses. We took it on over to Lil Fricks favorite ride, the People Mover aka TTA, and we rode it two times.
It was such a peaceful ride and I got to take a little more time to recover, or as YAK said pay the fiddler. Dont get me wrong, Im not a lightweight nor did I get slamming drunk the night before. I think the fact that I put alcohol in an overly tired body and didnt get a whole lot of sleep was taking a toll on me.
After our two relaxing rides I went to tackle my favorite trick. Please dont flame me for this, but it works every stinking time so why not? I discovered this trick on our last trip. Maybe you can put it in your bag of tricks too. I think just about anyone can do it.
I walked up to the fast pass entry for Space Mountain and found my prey, I mean CM. I got a dazed and confused look on my face and asked him How does this whole rider-swap thing work? My husband and I really want to ride but we have a child who cant and I just dont know how we are going to work it out. I get the spill about how one of us needs to wait in line for the ride and as we exit, we ask for a rider swap pass that will allow one adult plus another child or two (cant remember) back in. I look towards the line and say oh
.okay. Then the CM hands me a rider swap pass and I smile real big and thank him muchly.
I skip off happy with my victory. We shopped around while we waited for our time to ride Buzz. We finally got the green light to go in. Im not saying who won. After we rode, we grabbed four more fastpasses for later. Chef Mickey was having us over for some lunch so it was time to go. Before we left, I went to see if the Space Mountain fastpass line CM was still the same or not. Big score. It wasnt. So, I walked over to her. Did the exact same dazed and confused routine, and walked away with another rider swap pass. Sweet. Apparently I can pull off dazed and confused really, really well.
We parked our stroller near the main gate and left for the monorail station. I was hot and not feeling so hungry. I was still a tad queasy. The boys were pumped about Chef Mickeys! It is our favorite place to eat! You know I got lucky because I couldnt get an ADR for CM until one day when I called the DD line for the 47th time and they had decided to add a lunch buffet. I was thrilled. Thrilled I tell ya. Chef Mickeys is the one place that Big Frick requested to go to so I was happy to get him there.
I scored us seats in the front of the monorail. Apparently the driver and I had something in common. He seemed to have had a late night too. He was paying the fiddler. He wasnt too magical. What I am trying to say is that he was a big DUD. But hey, that is o.k. We had fun regardless.
We made it to the Contemporary and checked in for lunch. It was sooooo not crowded and the air conditioning was a welcomed relief! Just what I needed to come back from the dead.
They took our picture and I took a picture of the picture they took of us so I could have a picture of our picture to live in our computer like all our pictures do. I have NO PLANS to print this, so dont flame me. pretty please.
The lunch buffet turned out to be really great! I cant remember what was on there, but it was great! We had a great seat by the window. All was good. I need to say great one more time in this paragraph. Great.
Here are the boys with Pluto. They dig the character interaction tremendously!
I had to get in a picture with Minnie. I just had to. Even if I did look horrible.
We had some napkin twirling fun.
Mr. Frick even got in on the action.
A great time was had by all! We sat by a family whose only child was turning one. It was his birthday and what a way to celebrate! We watched him try to blow out his candle. It was so cute. Mr. Frick noticed that the baby didnt have an autograph book, so he talked to the boys about sharing one of their blank pages with him. Mr. Frick was trying to spread a little pixie dust. I was impressed. He got a page over to the family for them to use. They were touched. It was a sweet thing.
We raided the dessert bar and I felt like a champ again! After we left, we went shopping in my favorite store. The gift shop to the right as you walk out of CM. I didnt buy anything because I wasnt sure if I really did need a Mickey Mouse sweat suit, Tinkerbell purse or a set of The Seven Dwarfs golf balls. I might have had a case of buyers remorse, so I refrained.
We hit the pin cart and spent about thirty minutes looking at every pin. My boys really got in to the pins this time. It was cute. We were all refreshed and happy and ready to tackle the heat and crowds again. We hopped on the monorail and took off. We got stuck for 25 minutes at the Grand Floridian. It was great to see people run and nearly bust their butt to get on it real quick, and then we would still just sit there. It kept me amused.
A big happy family joined us in our car. I say big because there were four teenagers and a younger girl. After about 5 minutes of sitting there, I heard the father say that he had to tell them something. He announced that he had upgraded them to a huge suite. It was a magical moment. The family was thrilled and cheering and that daddy was Da Man! I was hoping Mr. Frick was listening because I would love for him to pull that on us some day. I almost got teary. What a pixie dust moment!
Up next: Will I get my first Dole Whip? What a cliffhanger! I'm sure you'll be racing back to hear about it!
