Sing along with me..."14 Miles is OVER...O-V-E-R....OVER....O-V-E-R....OVER....YAY!"
OK...so I was due for a tough run. This was the tough one I've known has been lurking out there. That's ok. It's done...miles are logged....body is screaming at me. BUT...ya know what??? It's over

. YAY!!!!
14 should definitely NOT kick my butt. However...it did just that. I think the 7 miles i did yesterday and the hour of pilates I did/taught yesterday and the 1.5 hours of pilates i did on Friday and the fast 5 miles I raced on Thanksgiving all contributed to a really tough run. Now...the thing is that my breathing felt great. I wasn't tired at all. However...my legs were really hurting from 7 miles on. Strangely enough...I ran the second half of the 14 miles 6 minutes faster LOL. Go figure. I guess soon as my legs started hurting I decided to get the run over with faster.
At the beginning of the run I decided to allow myself the luxury of a slower pace since I was recovering from a tough week. After the 7 miles i did yesterday, my legs were hurting last night, and I woke up with sore muscles in the booty area lol. Turns out I ran a solid 10:30 mpm. It's slower than what i've been doing, but nothing to be ashamed of for sure. The thing that made the run so difficult was the aching and stiffness in my body. Started with the knees, then the ankles, then my feet started hurting, of course the booty hurt from the beginning, eventually hips started hurting then finally the back.

Nothing severe...not like I was in horrific pain...just constant ache/stiffness. I think the cold has something to do with it too. But the fact is that I'm really pushing my body hard lately and I have to expect that it's going to complain. I'm off to take the dreaded ice bath

. But first my weekly update...I'll catch up with everyones' journals later today.
