The faceless children take a top-secret trip to WDW...

PB&J OTTER- We don't have 3 kids, and, well, does anyone but me remember this show? I used to watch it while babysitting, it was my favorite! But it's really, really old! At least there's a family structure there...

[/B]

We LOVED PB&J Otter!!! I really wish we could see it on video or something.

Ok, I just found this PTR & read the whole thing!! We go in June with our 5 kids, the youngest of which will be just under 3. I really love your trading card idea! I think our DS2 will really enjoy that. If only my DD was little enough for the dresses... She is 9 & hates everything I like for her to wear. Ugh.

My vote is CP for breakfast! I just love BF there!

I'm a little bummed about the closing of Poohs playground and Ariels Grotto. I loved watching DS play there over the last 2 years. It's sad that it's closing for good. I can't wait for the new Fantasyland though :)

I just talked with Aaron and the ears for Ashlyn's 1st haircut were included in the price. He doesn't remember exactly how much it was, but I think I remember reading before we left that they raised the price for 1st haircuts to $16 to include the ears. Don't quote me on that price , but that's what I remember reading.

Think the character cards are a great idea for your dd. If she does decide she's intersted in characters and autographs, those will be so much easier than managing a book and getting it open to the next page for them.

The waiting is hard, that's for sure. Now it looks like it may be even later than April 24th since Disney just put a new promo up that can be booked until May 8th.

Yup, it's an exercise in patience, that's for sure. But thanks for listening to me complain! :goodvibes

:welcome: Thanks for reading! Sorry I'm being so slow lately, I'll be trying to get back in the planning mood!

I'm glad I'm not the only one who loved PB&J otter! I even tried to find it on DVD but to no avail. :confused3

:lmao: about your DD and dresses. Too bad there are no easy clothes to make for DS...I would have loved dressing DS up.

I think I am leaning towards CP for breakfast...DH wants to go before the park opens but I'm concerned about getting a bus that early. DH swears it would be fine and you just talk to them at the concierge desk but I don't believe him and I don't want to spend all trip worrying about getting there on time!

We didn't take DS last trip, and I guess we'll never get the chance now. Too bad because when we went on our honeymoon DH was so excited about it's existence that I'm surprised he didn't just go in by himself!

Thanks so much for the info (and the speedy response...you're much faster than I am!) Now, tell me what you tip for a haircut :lmao: Seriously though, I've never had my hair cut anywhere, my parents were cheap and cut our hair at home and I've just continued that! :confused3

I never thought about that, but maybe I can just put a sticker on the back for them to sign. I do like that a lot! I think she will like having her own cards at least...my kids don't play with toys they just collect random little things.

Sorry no updates lately...I'm just completely frustrated by this free dining thing, and now park hours are changed AND character locations/availability. I feel like too much is in the air to do much in the way of planning. (*ahem* is this how people USUALLY feel about planning 6 months out?) So I'm just in a little funk that I'll be out of soon and back to planning! Thanks for being patient!

I'm worried that the barnstormer will be closed by the time we get there. Probably likely, but I hope it's not true!

This right here is EXACTLY how I feel about my planning!

I read this- it makes sense and I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

Okay, I asked Aaron about the haircut tip and he doesn't remember. And he paid cash so I can't just look at his bank statement. Sorry I can't help out there.

For the apple cupcakes you were talking about, you can use like green fruit roll ups or something along those lines and cut them into leaf shapes. In my head I'm picturing some sort of sour apple candy since it is sugary and makes it look almost glittery. I hope that makes sense. You could also use that to cut out a stem or use a pretzel if you want the stem brown.

For cake pop ladybug antennae... in my head I have a certain candy pictured, but I am looking it up to find out what they are called....

:surfweb: :rolleyes1 *insert Jeopardy theme here*

Okay. Candy search FAIL! :lmao: I was thinking Good and Plenty candy because of the shape... you could use those and just dip them in chocolate before you attach them or something. Oh, or you could cut up black licorice and use that!

Hi there!!! I just read through your entire PTR (gotta love the chapter links). You kiddos are SUPER cute!!! Since we're staying at the same resort during the same time span, maybe we'll bump into each other!!!

Glad I'm not alone! Because if you feel that way, then it's fine that I feel that way, since your trip is before mine!

Me too! :goodvibes

Lol candy search fail, tip remembering fail...;) Thanks for the ideas...I think I'll have to experiment with cutting shapes out of things! Nothing beats "trying out" cake recipes before you make them for real! :lmao:

:welcome: Thanks for reading! I'm still over on your PTR, just lurking mostly, but I'm there! I didn't remember that we were at the same resort at the same time...how funny is that, since we're both from Buffalo! I hope we do run into each other! You can just look for the little boy with lots of hair  I keep looking at him thinking, "we really need to cut his hair" but he says no. It's going to be SO long by september! I guess it doesn't matter as long as he doesn't mind that people think he looks like a little girl, because it is really gorgeous hair! :confused3

I don't really have a lot going on over on my PTR lately. I think I'll take some pics of the clothing I've purchased for my trip (yes, I'm shopping for clothes in April that I'll be wearing in Sept). As silly as it sounds, I try to "match" my clothing to the park/restaurant we're eating at on that day. :rotfl:

J.J.'s hair is gorgeous!!! I think it's so cute that he loves it so much and doesn't want it cut. People always "judge" little kids by what their hair looks like. Madison was completely bald for quite some time. I used to dress her in all pink and put cute little headbands on her and people still thought she was a boy!!! By the time she was 2 years old, her head erupted into ringlets (just like me when I was little).

Hang in there!! We have hit a lull at the moment--just not a whole lot to do unless you have creative stuff you can do? Shirts, stroller tag/license plate, passport, autograph book, etc?

Hopefully FD will be released in May. :cloud9:

Just saw your pictures, they're great!

Yes, people always think Sydney is a boy and J.J. is a girl. It's kind of annoying, just because it's a bother correcting people. I usually don't, but sometimes they go on and on! ;)

I do actually have a lot of creative stuff to do...it's just that I have a lot of time for planning in my mind while I'm doing all the other day to day stuff I have to do, and not all that much time to actually sit down and do stuff! :lmao:

I don't think I'm meant to update....I just typed the longest update and I lost it, and then my laptop battery died. But I'm trying again! :goodvibes

Spring is here, and that means spring cleaning! Have you started yours yet?

This weekend we did lots of organizing, and part of that was starting to put away winter clothes, pull out summer clothes, and pack up the baby clothes that are too small for Sydney for what will hopefully be a long stay in the attic! (I've got my hands full, I want a looong break before even thinking about another baby! :thumbsup2)

While we were doing that, we pulled out some clothes and set them aside as "disney clothes".

100_7657.jpg

J.J. grows very slowly. On our 2008 trip he wore 2T shirts. Then he wore them last summer, and he'll wear them again this summer! He's finally getting to the point where 3T isn't too big on him, but he doesn't need to size up yet. So, DH took a bunch of 3T disney shirts and set them aside for our trip. They'll be plenty big next summer, so DH wants to keep them clean. J.J. really knows how to "wear in" his clothes, if you know what I mean...;)

So, J.J. has plenty of clothes. The blue Nemo Shirt with Bubbles, Sydney has a match to, and the Yellow shirt in front, DH has a matching one to that.

Sydney doesn't have as many, just the 3 shirts on the right. But I plan on making her dresses...every few weeks we take the 40% off coupon from JoAnn's and buy some disney fabric so we can make them! She also has those shorts that you can see at the very edge of the picture...DH is holding onto hope that they will fit. They're 12 months and Jay wore them on his last trip (when he was 20 months...I told you he was tiny!) and DH loves them. They're pretty snug when we tried them on, so she won't be wearing them this summer...but we use cloth diapers at home and we'll be using a hybrid cloth/disposable combo at WDW so she won't have her fluffy behind. So DH is hoping she can wear them. Only time will tell!

I'm hoping to have some time to work on some Disney stuff this week...I'm starting to get back in the mood and I have lots to do. Now if only I can find the time! Only 13 days until Sydney's first birthday...we won't be doing much but I want to make sure I have food for people who might stop by, and a few decorations, and I have to figure out what I'm doing for a cake! Our theme is a hodgepodge of ladybug picnic and snow white! :lmao:

Also this weekend, I went on a long distance disney shopping spree. :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo: My brother lives in LA and one of the local disney stores is closing this week. So he went to the store for me. I figured there would be nothing there, since when our disney store was closing, by a week out there was like, one table with a few things on it. But there was tons there, and my wonderful brother went around the store and told me what everything there was so I could decide if I wanted it or not. Everything was 40% off the lowest markdown, so I spent $76 and got SO much stuff. I don't even remember everything, but I know I got a cinderella dress for $9, a bell tiara and a tinkerbell tiara for $3 each. Remote control fire truck for $12, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Wall hanging for $6, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Door Organizer for $5...and lots more. The best part is that I really don't need any of it right away, so instead of paying shipping, my brother will just pack it in his suitcases whenever he gets a suitcase for free on the plane when he visits. So exciting!

I haven't posted pictures in awhile, so maybe these will get you in a spring mood. These are from Easter!

When J.J. woke up on Easter I asked him if he knew what day it was. He said, "Saturday." so I told him, "No, it's Sunday." and he said, "Sunday is EASTER!" :lovestruc

Here he is waking Sydney up to tell her that it's Easter.

The Easter bunny brought backpacks! Here's Syd trying hers out. Please excuse the mess, the easter bunny went a little overboard this year!

100_7401.jpg

And finally, here's Jay with a basket of eggs. The easter bunny left a basket, and a trail of eggs leading to where he hid the baskets (this year, backpacks) so that it wouldn't be too hard for the babies to find them, which was awfully considerate, don't you think? Here's Jay at the end of the trail, after he and Sydney collected all the eggs!

Hope your spring cleaning is going well! Gotta clean out room for those souvenirs from WDW! :teacher:

I miss the Disney Store like crazy!!!! We're heading to Annapolis this summer for my cousin's wedding, and I've heard there is one in Maryland right off the highway. We will DEFINATELY be hitting that up on the way home!!! I can't wait to see all the stuff you bought!! I love the backpacks that the Easter bunny brought your kiddos. So cute!!!

I can't wait to see what we bought too. :lmao: We took a trip to Toronto this weekend (I'll be posting about that in a minute) and we stopped at the disney store there too! Okay, and at Ikea. :rotfl: We didn't buy anything, but oh it sure felt good just to look!

We went to the Toronto Zoo yesterday (and might I add, something was going on because we had to answer a lot of questions to get into Canada, which is really unusual, and then they were searching every single car on the way back) and it made a good first test run. Some things I need to consider for Disney:

1. J.J. never did nap, although he was getting tired when we left around 4 and would have probably fallen asleep if we were walking around more. But the Toronto Zoo is lots of walking around doing nothing, not like going from ride to ride at disney. I really don't want to go back to the hotel to nap, but I'm not sure how to instigate "nap time" in the middle of the park, and I don't want a kid who hasn't napped for 11 days. He is not the nicest when he's sleep deprived...:rolleyes1

2. I think we'll be fine packing a park bag. I was worried about not having enough space in the bag for our stuff, but the stroller has lots of storage underneath and if I can pack a day bag for the Toronto Zoo full of cloth diapers and lunch for four, then I can pack for disney just fine.

3. We have soft soled shoes for the kids...that's all Sydney wears but J.J. has some too, and they make perfect "extra shoes" to pack in the park bag.

4. In the interest of bringing fewer diapers, I just added doublers to make Syd's diapers more absorbent so I could change her less often. Not something I bother with at home, but very convenient for the day trip. Which brought me to this question...how often do you change a disposable? I'm sure I can run some trial and error on this, but I figured some of you have to have a ballpark figure for me!

5. Something I have to think about...we sit our kids on the potty (or hold them to potty) when we change them, so they've been using the potty from the day they were born. (it's called Elimination Communication, but I find that name weird and I try not to use it!) Which works great for us, almost no poopy diapers from very early...Jay stopped pooping anywhere but the potty before he was 6 months...Syd doesn't have that kind of a track record, but it's rare that she poops in her diaper...less than once a week? But, this is not practical in a public bathroom since changing tables are separate from the stalls...and I'm not sure how I feel about only letting Syd use the potty at the hotel. Poop isn't the issue, she's a morning pooper, and she's started to come get us when she has to poop if it's not the morning, but I still feel weird changing her without letting her pee first, because it's something she's done every time I change her for her whole life! For a day, sure, but 11 days is a long time to get out of the habit of using the potty! So I'm not sure what I'll do there. Seek out those one room bathrooms when I can, I guess. Are there lines at the changing tables normally? With Jay, at home, we often took him in the bathroom and then took him to a changing table to get him re-dressed. In the parks we just used pull-ups for Jay when we took him to disney but J.J. used the bathroom pretty full time, even as an infant. I'm too type-A for that and I found it a little too stressful, so we diaper Sydney pretty much full time and only have her use the potty when we change her, which is perfect for us, but we'll need real diapers, not just pull-ups. Anyway, rambling again :lmao: but something I need to consider. Hopefully I'll perfect it when we take some other day trips this summer.

6. Snacks. I might need to bring some snacks in our luggage...the boy ate all day long at the zoo! Dining plan or no dining plan, he's just hungry!

7. Walking...okay, I was TIRED after our trip to the zoo. I need to get my butt in gear and start some serious walking practice this summer, or my park commando dreams are a pipe dream!

8. Straws. We bought aluminum water bottles from disneyshopping.com:

100_7828.jpg

but J.J. makes too much of a mess without a straw. Plus, I just put water in the straw and then let Syd drink the water from the straw (do you know what I'm talking about? I suck the water up and then cover the top of the straw with my finger and give it to her like a little medicine syringe type thing?). But, there are no straws allowed at Animal Kingdom, right? So, not sure what to do about that. I can bring a sippy or normal water bottle with a top for Jay for our animal kingdom days, but Syd won't use a sippy. (Both of my kids so far. Since they've never used a bottle they have no idea how to "suck" from a cup, or how to tip the cup to drink from it. Took J.J. until he was almost two to figure it out!) Sydney uses a doidy cup at home without much mess, so I guess I could bring one, but that seems like a hastle. She can kind of drink from a normal cup too...can you just get an empty cup from the counter service places?

Alright, that's a long list, mostly for me to reflect on. But I'd love any input too!

And, here are some faceless pictures of our trip to hopefully make you happier about sitting through that long list!

I think it's awesome that you're taking notes during your trips to use towards Disney. It's always good to be prepared. :thumbsup2

Our stroller lays all the way back and the canopy part can be pulled all the way down and Ashlyn has taken her naps that way in the parks in past trips. Hopefully it will work just as well during our next trip!! I wouldn't want to take a nap break back at the hotel unless absolutely necessary, either. Especially since we are going to be there just for one full day. But anyway, thanks for the zoo pictures! So cute. :)
