The faceless children take a top-secret trip to WDW...

Too cute about the practice pin trading! We've avoided the pin trading so far but I'm sure the kids will figure it out eventually.

Amanda

I figure it's free souvenirs...the pins are already bought, and J.J. can trade to his hearts content!

I love that you practiced pin trading too. :goodvibes

My MIL bought my sewing machine many years ago when it was on sale during the holiday season. I want to say it runs around $100 but she got it on sale for $60. It is probably even cheaper now since it is about five years old. If I keep liking sewing like I am, I know I eventually am going to want to upgrade to a serger but they are so expensive. :scared1:

Hoping that everything goes well for Sydney on Tuesday. I'm a crazy worry wort when it comes to freckles/moles/etc. too....I used to go tanning but I haven't in about a year and half. I'm always yelling at my friends who continue to go all the time. I don't know why they don't listen!

My mom picked me up a sewing machine at a garage sale. It's older but it works! Honestly, it's still at her house (been 3 years now!) but I have used it! :) Just thinking if you didn't want to lay out a ton of cash on a new machine you can maybe find a 2nd hand older one for $25 or so.

Good luck with Sydney's pre-op stuff. What hospital will you be going to (if that's not TMI)? On the 21st I will be at MFS in the morning. If you're there I'd try to stop by and offer some support.

Sergers are SO expensive, it's my dream too, but a far off one! Plus, I think they break a lot so you have to take them in to get serviced, and I'm just not that kind of a girl.

Thanks! And seriously, it makes me feel so much better to know that other people worry about these things too! DH is just like, "Umm..don't you have freckles and spots all over too? Everyone does!" And then he points to like the nearest 10 on his body he can find. I guess both of us really shouldn't be worriers though, so it's probably better. ;) I am also crazy about sunscreen, so that's probably good. Funny that your friends won't listen to you about tanning. Mine too!

Maybe I should check craigslist for a sewing machine. I will have to check it out!

We're going to Children's, but it's SO sweet of you to even think about stopping by if we had been at MFS. Thank you!

Apparently we just have a lot going on here lately...and not good stuff!

My grandmother has been in the hospital (this is her 3rd time in the last 6 weeks) and they're going to send her home because there is nothing left that they can do. So hospice will be coming in and we will proceed from there. We did not have a great hospice experience with my Dad, so hopefully this one is better. I expect that we are as prepared as possible for this, since we went through it a year and a half ago, but I think it's hard to be prepared for this sort of thing!

It's especially difficult because we just have NO idea how long she will live. With my dad, we knew it would be fast (his doctor guessed within the month, and he lived 6 weeks) so that gave us some idea. It makes it more difficult for me, because of J.J., now that he's older so he understands more, but not old enough to have a grasp on time further than a couple days away. I guess it helps that we have my dad as a reference (he tells me he "will not be sad" when Nana dies...which sounds HORRIBLE but it's because I tell him that we feel so happy and lucky that we got to spend time with my dad, even though we miss him. Sydney, according to him, is sad, because she never met my dad, so she was not lucky enough to know him. Sweet boy. :lovestruc)

I would appreciate if you could keep us all in your thoughts. I am not a particularly religious person, but my mother and grandmother are, so if you are, if you could keep us in your prayers as well, that would be wonderful. :goodvibes

Oh I'm so sorry about your grandmother! I will definately be keeping you all in my thoughts.

So sorry to hear about your grandmother. We will keep you guys in our prayers! If you need any help at all in the coming weeks, please let me know.

Thank you both so very much! It will be difficult, but we'll get through it.

Since I'm awake, and I realized I haven't posted pictures in awhile, I figured that I should do that! Here are a few pictures from our faceless summer!

Oh my goodness! I'm so sorry to hear about your grandmother. One day at a time sounds like about all you can manage right now. Hope everything goes smoothly on Tues. at the hospital. Update us if you have the energy!

I'm so sorry about your grandmother. It must be especially hard since you've been through it already. :grouphug:

Cute pics!

Oh my! When it rains, it pours, huh? I agree that you are going to "need" this vacation.

I love the picture of Syd in the window. Sometimes these little ones do a great Spiderman imitation.

Like Hope, I also thing the one of them both upside down is hysterical! So cute!

We will be thinking about you on Tuesday.

Awe, sorry you have to go through this! We just lost my grandmother last week so I have somewhat of an idea what you are going through. It must be hard for your DS with the loss of your father, that's all he can compare this too. I hope she passes peacefully and will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

Just an FYI. My DS goes to a pre-school in Tonawanda and on Friday mornings (9-12:30) they have a sitting service for $3 per hour. Your child doesn't have to go to the school, anyone can participate. If you want the info I will PM you. Sometimes it's just nice to have a few hours to yourself. The school is small but nice and the teacher is great!

Thinking of you today! I hope everything is going well.

These two are hysterical!! :rotfl2::lmao::rotfl2::lmao:

They are completely crazy. 100% of the time!

Thank you! One day at a time is how we have to take it. It's my mother's birthday tomorrow :scared1: ...we found out my dad was dying the day before their anniversary, and now my grandma is dying and it's my mom's birthday. She just can't get a break. Hospice comes out tomorrow.

Thank you for the support! It is difficult, it reminds me a lot of when my dad was dying. I didn't expect it to be so similar.

It does feel like everything at once! Life is like that sometimes. I will have "earned" this vacation by the time it comes!

She is the worlds best climber. I don't even know how she does it!

Thank you! I kind of think it's just mostly bloodwork and a physical, and then she has her 15 month well baby visit tomorrow as well. She's not going to be happy. I'm going to delay her vaccines because I really don't want to risk a vaccine reaction 2 weeks before surgery, so hopefully that will go smoothly. Her doctor is really nice and I'm sure she will be understanding. Since it's within my rights to deny vaccines completely, I'm sure delaying them will be okay.

Cute pictures!!!! Love the one of Syd in the window!

How did she even get there? :scared1: She's a daredevil, through and through. And she's strong. If she fell, she would just dangle there from her arms for awhile! (Not that she's fallen from the window, but she's slipped from shorter things!)

It never hurts to have the name of a safe, reliable place as an option! Sure, PM me the info, that would be great! :goodvibes

Thinking of you today! I hope everything is going well.

Thanks, Hope! So sweet of you! Things are going... well, they're going! My grandma is not doing very well but that's to be expected. We're keeping her medicated, and she wasn't "all there" mentally before anyway, so I don't think she's really experiencing much of this, which is really better for her. We put Sydney on her lap today and she perked up for a minute, so I think it's nice that she's able to be home. My dad died at home as well, so I do think it's nice to be surrounded by the people you love. My siblings are up visiting this week (coincidence) so there are plenty of people around to help. We're not sure what will happen if she is still alive once everyone goes home, it's very difficult to take care of her right now. I suspect the hospice center is an option if we can't do it ourselves. One day at a time.

I'm sure it won't be a problem to skip the vaccines! I wouldn't want to risk it either. A couple of weeks before his surgery, I took my son in wondering if he had some sort of infection (ear, maybe?). The dr. was going to hold off on prescribing anything, which I usually agree completely with, until I reminded him of the upcoming surgery. He put DS on antibiotics as a precaution so he wouldn't get sick and knocked off the surgery schedule.

Tomorrow will be a long day for your daughter, though! Hang in there -- one more day is almost done! :)

Hope you are hanging in there! Wishing your mother a happy birthday and hoping your Grandma gets some peace with Hospice coming. The pics of the kids are adorable!
