The faceless children take a top-secret trip to WDW...

I'm so glad it went well!!!! Sleepy sounds good. I hope you can all get some good rest tonight.

I'm so glad everything went well! I'm proud of you for standing up to the staff and doing what you knew was best for Sydney. Medical professionals can be intimidating- they know that and are used to getting their way as a result but a strong mamma is no match for them!

So happy to hear that everything went well!

Thank you! I am so glad that it is over!

YAY!! I am so happy that everything went well!!

Thank you! Me too! It is a big relief to know that it's behind us. I am so glad that I chose to do it before our trip because it was a hard day and it helped to have something to look forward to!

Thank you! Sleepy is good, it's better than crying. The medicine makes her breathe shallowly, unlike how you normally breathe when you're sleeping, so I keep thinking she's not breathing, which obviously freaks me out! So tonight is not the night for excellent sleep. But tomorrow, tomorrow I will sleep well! :rotfl:

Thank you! And thank you so much for saying that! I was kind of embarrassed, since I am normally pretty timid, especially around doctors, but I just was not okay with the idea of sending her in there alone...her being terrified right before they did surgery was something I wanted to minimize, and it was so important to me...I guess if there's going to be something to be "that person" about, there's nothing better than my kids and their well being! I was running on adrenaline until a few hours after I got her home, I think, and then the magnitude of the day, and all the worrying I did for the last 6 weeks, and seeing her before and after the surgery just got to me and I felt so worn down and tired! It was an exhausting day. I'm sure the complete relief that it is all over will sink in soon! I am so happy that it's over with and she's home safe and sound! I missed her so much during the surgery that I pretty much just watched the door the whole time and when they came to get me I literally RAN to the nurse! I'm pretty sure she chuckled a bit when she saw that! At least they can't say I didn't care...:rolleyes1

Alright, now I finally feel free to get back to life as usual!

During the surgery I somehow managed to make a countdown list, since I've enjoyed reading all of yours so very much! We are at 36 days today, so that will start soon!

It's rainy here today, so this morning I dug through the "disney box" and took out all the kids clothes to see what I had. Since we're going October 28th, that leaves me in a bit of a pickle about what to pack...I feel like I have to pack for all possibilities.

So as it turns out, we apparently thought that Sydney was huge, and a lot of her clothes are too big. This is what we have for her that should fit reasonably well, although I don't like that pale pink Minnie Mouse shirt and I may not be bringing it. Sorry for the picture quality, I have a feeling someone smeared her greasy little fingers all over the lens.

I'll have to go through her drawers and see what else I can bring for fall clothes, and what else we have. I also have these two outfits in the mail to me, and hopefully they'll fit great:

J.J. is doing much better for clothes, but I need to remember where we put his summer clothes to find him shorts.

I'm so glad to be back in the mood to do planning! There's so much to do!

I agree totally with the post about you doing what you felt was best for your daughter!Medicall proffession espcially the good ones are used to getting what they want. Good for you, for standing up!!

The outfits are too cute!I would be confused too over what to bring in October. But I think it is still pretty warm there then. Just make sure you bring a thing zip up jacket with a hood(like the sweatsuit jackets) for the mornings and the evenings..

So very glad to hear that everything went well with the surgery!! Now you can relax and enjoy your last bit of trip planning! Sending many happy thoughts your way!

I'm glad everything went well. Finding summer clothes during the winter to get away is always a problem for me. I forget where I put everything!

I am so glad to hear that Syd's surgery went well. Our computer was down and I couldn't wait to get it fixed to check on you.

I am thrilled that you can get back to planning your trip. I think you have a pretty good number of shirts. I really like all of the cute little skirts. It is so fun to make the little girls look super cute when on vacation. I am jealous that you packed your shorts away. It was still 96 degrees here today.

I'm so glad the surgery went well! (and I'm sorry I wasn't here earlier, I've been avoiding the DIS a bit due to not being able to go on our trip)

Yes, pack for everything! We arrived on Oct. 19th after it had been VERY hot all Sept & October...well, a cold front had come in that day and we were FREEZING! I had packed jackets b/c I knew this could happen and it turned out to be GORGEOUS weather(70s) for the whole 8 days we were there. On the last day it got into the mid to upper 80s, which was the 27th or something, and so I know it can go either way at this time of year. I never felt like we had to wear jeans, but sweatshirts were in order in the mornings, it was chilly!

Cute clothes! That Tigger onesie is adorable! :cutie:

Thanks! Gotta love the disney clothes. I told DH maybe Sydney can just fill in her wardrobe with non disney clothing, but I'm pretty sure he disapproves.

 Thank you! I'm the kind of person who needs to be told, yes, you did the right thing, so I really appreciate it! :lmao:

Yes, I will definitely bring hoodies. And probably jeans for at least me, because I prefer pants to shorts any day, so if it's cool enough, I would be happier in pants!

Thank you! I am excited to get on with the planning too. Although I told DH yesterday that at DS's 4 year appointment I'm going to bring up the fact that he stands on his feet wrong (his ankles turn in, so his heels point out, if that makes any sense) so I think he needs orthotics made for his shoes. DH told me that I need to stop looking at the children. I don't think that's a big deal though, it's not like surgery or anything! I think it's good to be an attentive mother!

Thank you! Yeah, I really have no idea where they are. Which is pretty sad, because we just packed them up right before Syd's surgery!

Oh and in case no one got it for you yet, I did a google search for ellen's shirt on ellen's energy adventure. And from the youtube videos it looks like a black crew neck tee shirt under a blue denim button down shirt.

Thank you! I think someone was looking for me on their trip last week, but we will see if they looked. I do plan on hopping over to your TR soon...I can't wait to read about it! I've just been swamped here.

Thank you, that is so sweet!

It was really hot yesterday, we actually turned the air on! But before that, it was getting downright chilly. I love fall, and really don't like the heat, so I was unhappy about the heat wave!

DH loves making Sydney look really girly, since everyone thinks Jay is a girl with the long hair, and thinks Syd is a boy because of her hair (it was even worse in the hospital in that blue gown...it was a little awkward thinking...do I correct the doctors? It's not like they're doing surgery where it would matter if she's a boy or a girl...)

I'm so glad the surgery went well! (and I'm sorry I wasn't here earlier, I've been avoiding the DIS a bit due to not being able to go on our trip)

Thanks! And no worries, I completely understand. We only delayed our trip a month and I still find myself thinking, so where in WDW would I have been today?

It's so strange not knowing what to pack for. If I wasn't already a crazy overpacker, maybe it would be easier, but I have a 6 bag limit on Southwest! :scared1: :rotfl2:

I'll be updating more in a minute...

I'm so glad to hear that everything went well and now you can just worry about Disney!

Thanks Amanda! I seriously can not thank you enough, I was so worried that something terrible was going to happen to her in surgery until you talked to me about it, and then I was able to relax! You saved me lots of sleepless nights. So thank you again!

If it makes you feel any better, the nurse practitioner at our pediatrician's office once looked at me when my first was just a baby and suggested that I "read a novel, preferably a mystery" rather than any more parenting books and magazines! :rotfl: (Just so no one thinks she's mean, she is really terrific and I'm always pleased when she sees the boys. She just tells it like she sees it, but very kindly!)
