The Everything Pooh Sized Thread

I know there have been a lot of questions about fitting on rides, but I was wondering what experiences people had specifically with Mission Space, especially with more than one Pooh sized person. I'd like to ride it with my wife, but I remember it being kind of tight last time, and I was smaller then. We're both about size 20 US; she carries her weight in her hips, and I carry mine in my belly. Thoughts?

I'm a 16/18 depending on how well I did the day before lol. Here's is my suggestion to you, especially if you are not a fan of tight places. Be careful how far you pull the bar down. I don't like it tight down on myself when I'm larger. So I give myself a little space and I can ride it fine. I ride orange if you ride green I don't think the space issue is that a big a deal.

I am so glad I found this thread again! For some reason all my Disney Tips threads disappeared ( on my app, but not on website) . Anyhow, so happy to be back and planning a summer trip after previous 2 had to be canceled. ( one because of my back)
I am older and my bike shorts days are far in the past. I am an apple and my legs are relatively thin, but now they are all spidery and not pleasant to look at. :(
So, I am thinking dresses might be the way to go. I am unfortunately not comfortable with anything sleeveless, so I have been looking at muumuus and other dresses like that in the Vermont Country store catalog. Is there a store in mall-world that carries anything like those, but not as expensive? I like cotton, but don't want to iron. I just want something loose, but also that covers most of my legs and is not see-through. Is this an impossible dream?
I seem to remember some discussion of underwear here too. Any suggestions for avoidance of chafing?
I plan to go back through the thread and look for these answers too, but wanted to see what people were saying currently. Of course, with my back problems, shoes will be a major decision also. Our last trip was in December 2009 and one thing I enjoyed was not having to deal with all these summer touring clothing problems! In fact, it was so cold, we had to buy sweatshirts, gloves, and scarves!

Bluecastle, unfortunately I get all of my flowing dresses mail order, so I can't help there. I can frequently find flowy skirts at places like Dress Barn, though, if you're willing to go with a skirt and top instead.

For avoiding chafing, the very best thing I've found is men's extra long boxer briefs. Several of the sports companies (like Champion) sell them made out of wicking fabric. They're much looser than bike shorts or shape wear, so I don't feel like a sausage in them. I know it sounds strange, but you might want to give it a try. My waist is 45" and I wear a XXL.

Another good place for foley skirts is Coldwater Creek. They are going out of business but I've gotten quite a few comfortable skirts there, light weight too.

When in WDW I tend to lean more towards Bermuda shorts and tanks. It helps me avoid the issue of chaffing and I am comfortable.

I am leaning toward spandex/biker shorts underneath bermuda shorts when I go in May. I also bought a pair of compression capris from Old Navy that I might wear. I am afraid they may be too hot though. I'd like to just wear the black stretchy compression capris with a tshirt over them. They are the moisture wicking stuff. I've never worn this type of pant on a hot day though, so no idea if it would cause chaffing.

I didn't know CC was going out of business! I may have to make a trip to the mall this week. I hate malls, but this info might be the motivation I need.

I will be trying out all the suggestions here- though not too sure about the men's boxers! :)

Hi! I haven't read the entire thread but I just wanted to share my experience!
My DBF and I are AP, so we go all the time (14 times this month!!!). Our goal is to ride everything in a year, and we are both Pooh sized. I am 23, 5'4" and about 220, fluctuating between a 16/18. DBF is a little bigger than I am. I'm happy to say that we haven't had any problems at WDW yet! Sometimes we have to adapt, like riding separately on Dumbo, AO, and the flying carpets. And the SM seats sure are a struggle to get out of sometimes, but I don't think that's limited to Pooh sized people! And then there are times on rides with multiple people per row like GMR where the CM might try and fit more people per row than is comfortable (I take it as a compliment!), but we've never had any issues or embarrassment, which is somewhat of a miracle considering we're both pretty sensitive about our weight.
In regards to walking, we are using our passes and our obsession with WDW to try and get a little more in shape! Walking so many miles a day doesn't feel so much like exercise when it's at the happiest place on earth! However, if you're in MK and you're struggling or it's just too hot, or you're dealing with yesterday's blisters, etc, one thing I've learned is to use the train! It's such a great way to get around the park and you don't usually have to wait too long to get on. It's so nice to sit down for a minute instead of trying to navigate the crowds when you're trying to get across the park! It really cuts down on the walking.
Another thing is to be strategic. If you're overheating, go do something where you can sit down in the air conditioning (my go tos- Philharmagic, ETWB, HoP, the Little Mermaid show at DHS, any of the movies at the World Showcase in Epcot). You'll still feel like you're doing something while taking a break at the same time! If you need a break, go grab a Mickey bar and sit somewhere pretty. Do what you need to do to enjoy your time!
I have a pretty standard uniform of leggings, a tank top, and a light cardigan. Leggings generally eliminate the chafe (dresses at disney just are not happening for me), and I'm always too hot or too cold so I leave a jacket in the car just in case. I don't carry much into the parks, so I usually use a small Marc Jacobs crossbody bag that fits everything I need- pricey but functional and super cute. Finding the right shoes has been a challenge (I love my Sperry's but do NOT recommend them for WDW)- I go back and forth between Toms and Crocs Sexi Flip sandals. I just got the crocs and am so impressed with how comfortable they are! I'm definitely going to order a couple more pairs!

Anyways, I hope this is helpful! I hope that we continue to have Pooh-sized Disney bliss for many years to come and I hope the same for all of you!!

I got an email the other day about CC. If you go to the site the information is in the FAQ's. Sad really, I liked CC a lot. Nice clothes and when you shop smart, they were good prices.

Thanks! So much good information. I am just wondering if leggings wouldn't be too warm in August. Just the thought of putting them on and peeling them off after walking around in the hot sun makes me think a skirt or dress would be better. I am willing to give it a try though.

Oh my word! You must be my TWIN!!! I had one situation worse then this...I got married at 62 on the Disney Magic in the Mediterranean...try finding a wedding dress for someone who is exactly like you!!! Oh man, I was fortunate to find one on line and it was perfect. Had to have short sleeves, not low neckline and hit below the knee...and be a wedding dress!

Ok.My problem. Sometimes XLs are not quite big enough(for some reason they think large women need slinky skin tight tops) but the 1X are too big. My "girls" just arent grown up :) I need a bit of length in the tops( lots of pooh stuffing in the middle) plus I like short sleeves not capped sleeves. Im just having a bit of trouble finding the right size, shape, material etc etc all in one top :)

As far as shoes go.....Teva is the way to go. I have planters fasciitis and the sandals with the extra cush in the heels are great( dozers, tirras). And the last time I went to DW I used a Vera Bradley backpack(one of the smaller ones). It worked great. So I bought a new one(nearly half off at Zulilly.com) for this summer's trip :)

:) I am 5'4" or a smidge shorter and weight 220. I am an apple shape. So my top is larger than my bottom. I have had good luck the the Isaac Mizrahi Live! T shirt dress on QVC. It fits me great up top (cap sleeves) and then has more of an A shape through the bottom. Hits me above the knees. Very comfy cool material that is not see through. I wear a 2x in this dress. I keep 2 in my OL and will add a couple more this trip. I recently purchased the Denim & Co t-shirt maxi on QVC. The sleeves are shirt not cap and the length is good. Material is not see through. I also wear a 2x in this brand for this dress.

The best t shirt bra I have found is the Modern Movement BFF t-shirt bra at Dillard's. I recently purchased the Skimmies ( Jockey I think) biker undies and will try those this trip.

I also purchased the denim skort from Woman Within and have been pleased with the length, look and short material underneath. I first got a size 22 but sent them back for a 20.

I hope this helps someone looking for a shorter t-shirt or maxi dresses.

They can definitely be hot if you're not used to the feeling. But I buy the athletic ones instead of the cotton ones- the fabric helps with the heat a lot. I also wear gray ones when it's really hot. But I am definitely a leggings addict, so if you're not used to wearing them I would suggest trying them on a hot day at home first to see how they feel!

What do you wear on top? I would be happy to try the leggings, as long as my stomach is covered up by a big shirt. I think a tshirt and leggings would really emphasize my middle!

I feel the same way! I usually wear a longer flowy tank top (most of mine are from target, or forever 21+), and a cardigan or light jacket, and I always make sure my butt and stomach are covered. I think that's the key to making it slimming rather than unflattering- to have it flow right over the problem areas (my stomach and love handles are definitely mine!). I'm not even sure if cardigan is the right word...I try to find oversized plus size button down shirts and just undo the buttons and throw it over a tank. Places like TJ maxx and Ross generally have a lot of these and that's where most of mine are from. I especially love the see through chiffon ones that are in style right now- they are usually longer in the back and they're very lightweight, which is perfect for the parks.
On that subject, I think that forever 21+ is an awesome place for park clothes. They're pretty cheap (dirt cheap if you buy on sale), and if you look past all the crazy "trendy" styles you can often find good solid basics. Sure, they're not made to last but the prices make up for that. They're also quite true to size, which is relatively uncommon in plus size clothes in my experience. And, they have some fun Mickey clothes from time to time!

How is TSMM?? I am currently a size 24. I wasn't concerned until I learned I may have to ride it alone with my 2 year old (he's big for his age) and my 6 year old. Do you think all 3 of us will fit?

Haven't posted on here in forever, but thought I'd share a great find with you all. I hate bathing suit weather. I like to wear skirtinis because I prefer a two piece but I feel the tops are too short and the bottoms are too short. I carry most of my weight around my middle so while the skirts are okay in the front, my rather large behind makes the skirt a lot shorter in the back. Anyway, I was in JCPenney today with my daughter and came across and long skirt bottom. I can't find it online in the Plus sizes, but here it is in the misses' sizes:

I went in June and I am 6'1 and a size 24. I rode with my 4 year old son who is about as tall as a 5 or 6 year old but only weighs 49 pounds. I don't think you would have a problem. You will be able to tell more when you are in line you can see the carts going around. We didn't have any issues though. Good luck!

I think you will be ok with the kids on the outside so they can pull the string for the shooting but the Disney people may not let you do that.
