The Everything and Nothing Thread

Hello, hello everyone!

Happy Friday!

Busy day ahead: studying, studying, studying during the day, then in the evening I'm going to help out with the homework club at my church's youth ministry, then I have a missions fundraising meeting and then home for more studying!:faint: I registered for a 6th class and trying my best to keep up with it. I need the credit as a prerequisite for a course I need for next semester so I'm giving it a go!

Hope everyone is doing well. I've gotta go back and read and catch up but it is so nice to see you all.:hug:

Good morning all. It's good to see everyone is still around and doing well.

I'm starting to get excited. I head back to WDW in 15 days. I was just there in May with my husband and youngest son but this will be my first friends WDW vacation. My husband goes every year on this golf vacation with his country club buddies so we are officially taking separate vacations at the same time. :thumbsup2 I'm really excited since nobody in my family loves WDW the way I do.

I hope everyone has a great weekend. My grandson started soccer so we've been going to the games on Saturday. He's the worst player on the team but we cheer for him like he's a superstar. :lmao:

Hi Janet!

Just planning a quiet weekend with DH. Hope all my Ev/Not friends have a wonderful weekend!:goodvibes

Hi Sandee! Have a great weekend - mine will be busy, sort of like Meg's!

Meg, :worship: I'm exhusted just reading about your day! :goodvibes

Yes, me too and then I realized that my weekend is just as busy!! :rotfl:

Have a great time! My sister is going with a friend at the end of October to catch F&W. I bet the weather will be beautiful. My DH and DS just don't get Disney like my DD and me so I totally understand your excitement! .:)

Sounds like a fall whirlwind is under way! School, college studies, soccer games and Halloween shopping - woo hoo!

Hi Janet! I saw a trip report awhile back that mentioned they'd met a DISer named Janet B and wondered if that was you. Being in the world would be a great reason for being AWOL!

Meg - you're about my daughter's age and your busy life sounds a lot like hers! Good luck with your studies this year!

Diva - Such special baby news! That's a beautiful name.

Angelina - Happy Shopping! We love Halloween around here, too!

Sandee - Yay for redecorating! Do you love it?!

Pakey - Let the countdown begin! Would love to hear some of your plans!

Teri - Loved the pictures of your camp! Looks like a great place to relax!

It's thanks to the DIS that we heard about such a great rate at the Poly. Someone posted on the Codes & Rates Board about great rates they'd found on the Southwest Airlines website. You could book a room, and not even have to fly with them. We weren't even planning to go this year, but immediately jumped right on this deal when we saw it, without even thinking twice. Turned out these rates were only available for about 24 hours, so we were glad we did. Thought it might have been an error, but somebody else posted they'd gotten this same great deal last year, too. Right place, right time kinda thing. We count ourselves as very lucky, but now we're spoiled!

Have a great weekend, everyone! Both of my daughters are going to be around!

Joan

Hi Joan - yes, that was me. We had a lot going on-my husband's work was crazy, car shopping for my son, (he was starting community college and had to have something to drive!!) So, was thinking the trip was out, so not talking about it. Two weeks out, my sister-in-law decided to come, and we booked flight, ADRs - can you believe I got some great ones EVEN Ohana's which is one of my fav meals:)

We were eating at PT 50's and this young couple (well, younger than ME:)) were seated next to us - very nice, so we started chatting about Disney .. So she asks me, do you visit any forums? and that's when I found out that she is a DISer also, and was doing a live TR!! From the Poly! And, she lives in Delaware, a hop, skip and a jump from where I'm in PA (north of Phily).

re POLY -- do you know if these great rates applied to the end of Aug at all? I've always wanted to stay there, just curious if it was only for Sept. timeframe. BTW, your pix are great!

Enjoy the weekend with your daughers!

Thanks!
The rates we got in on were for September only. It was really slow while we were there, and at the Poly it seemed like most of the other guests were from other countries. Lots of other languages being spoken.

Joan

eta: Oops, have to eat my words. I went back and checked the thread on the Rates Board and someone did report getting this deal for the last week of August! Looks like the earliest date was 8/16. We booked these rates in June.

Thanks!! We tend to go late August, as our school district starts after labor day. Just wondering if this might be an option for 2011. My DS started college Aug 30th this year so thinking we might get lucky and squeeze a trip in maybe at the POLY? - a girl can dream, right???

Janet, that's my dream too. Someday that's where I wanna stay, all the pressed pot coffee I can drink and Tonga Toast......... Ahhhhhh:cloud9:

Angelina -- Someday we will both have our dreams come true!! :wizard: Tonga Toast is fabulous! - I had mine with diet coke :) - I'm one of those rare adults that doesn't like coffee!! :goodvibes

Ok! I refuse to let this thread die!!!! :lmao:

How is everyone's week going? I have been having some minor computer problems for a few days but hopefully we have them under control now. Although the weather is calm, my power has been on & off today. Don't know what that is about, but it is getting annoying. I have given up on resetting the clocks on the microwave, etc for awhile. :rotfl:

Work is crazy busy lately. Lots of babies being born! The economy is not affecting the birth rate in our area, I guess. Yes, it is good job security, but exhusting.

I heard there is to be a huge rain on the east coast tomarrow. Good luck to all of you in the area. Hope it doesn't get too bad.

Ok, someone else chime in........:)

Good morning! :goodvibes I'm still around. Just busy busy. Soccer, track, PTO, fundraisers, and all that other fun stuff that comes along with the beginning of the school year. Plus I have been subbing at the school a lot. Finally got a few days off in a row! :cool1: So now I'm catching up on the housework, laundry, and my PTR!!

My baby turns 9 this weekend. Where does the time go???

One Month, One Week, and One Day until Disney!!!

:cheer2:

Im here....just spent 4 days on Disney property hanging out with family, and back to work as of yesterday...Trying to get out of vacation mode and back into work mode...busy time here at work...end of fiscal year and end of month too...

Hope everyone who checks in is doing well...and I plan some pics for today too..

Hey Focus! Not much going on here. Work...blah. Wow....my life is boring right now! Not always a bad thing though! Still hoping a disney trip is going to happen in January! I would love to be there to see my 3 year old niece experience it all! She's been once before, but she was a little over a year. She's Disney obsessed now!

Thanks for posting Ev's!!

Mom of 2: Happy Birthday to your son!:bday: My baby girl turns 26 next week!! Yipes! I guess on day I have to stop thinking of her as my baby girl. Nope, not gonna happen. ;)

Dax: glad you got to spend time with your family. I hate the back to work after vacation time. The vacation mellow doesn't last long once I'm back to work. I timed it once: 30 mins!! :rotfl:

Diva: my motto is : boring is good. Some of my coworkers have so much drama in their lives. One crisis after another. Much of it their own doing. I'll take boring!!!:goodvibes Hope you get to WDW with your niece. I think seeing Disney with a 3 yo would be the best thing ever. DD & DSIL know that when the first grand child is 3, we're going to WDW!! Parents optional, I always tell them!

So glad to see the thread back up! I was thinking everyone left. I am so glad the week is almost over. I am hanging on by a string. I guess we all have weeks like that right? It is finally feeling like fall here in north FL. It's wonderful! I so wanted to stay in bed today! Have a great day all!

Hi all. I've got nothing exciting going on. Except I'm 10 days from the Beach Club and 46 days from Egypt.

Other than daydreaming about upcoming vacations I've just been working. We are still trying to get settled into the new building. My assistant and I spent all day yesterday hanging pictures. It's a huge building. We got 19 hung yesterday and will be at it again today.

My grandson's soccer season started so my husband and I have been going to those games. He's only 5 and playing U6 but he's the worst player on the team. :rotfl: Both his mom and dad are very athletic but I don't think the trait was passed on.

It's still over 100 here. We got a late start on summer so I guess it's going to end late too.

Don't worry, my DS8 really stunk his first year of U6 soccer. He is now in U10 and one of the better players!! :cool1:

It's great of you and your DH to go and support him all the time! :cheer2:

Hi everyone! My cat Inky is trying to push my laptop off my lap so he can sit there. We actually have 5 cats under our roof right now. We have two, we've been watching our oldest daughter's while she's away, and now our youngest just moved back in with her two. Each group has it's own floor - have to spread the fur around as much as possible!

Here's Inky:

Yea for Wednesday photo day!! But 5 cats??:faint:

I am not a cat person. 5 cats I'd be freaking out! :rotfl2: (Inky is pretty, tho) In a picture. In person ? ;)
