I need to run out and get a sympathy card for my former co-worker whose wife died. They're having a 'celebration of her life' today, and I was going to go, but am not going for the lamest reason ever: I don't want to go alone. :sad2:

A friend was going to go, too, but couldn't make it; and DH didn't want to go, but said he'd be fine staying home with the kids if I really wanted to go... So I wimped out. :headache:

So anyway, I'm going to send a card, and also contribute toward a fund for the family at a local bank. They have two small children, so I'm not sure if the fund is for funeral expenses, for kids' college fund or some sort of memorial perhaps?

It breaks my heart. And you know what she died of? Pneumonia. I don't know the details, but that's just so shocking to me. People get pneumonia all the time, you just don't think of it as deadly, but of course it can be. :sad1:

So that I can leave on a happy note...

Happy 3rd Birthday, Mikalah!!!
:bday: party: :cake:

Helloooo, hyenas!

We are making dinner at the moment so I have just a few minutes to chat; thought I'd pop on and say howdy! :)

Gorgeous afternoon here today!
HOT, even! (Did I mention people complain a lot about the sun around here?) :rotfl:

After DS3 woke from his nap, I brought out these little "dinosaur eggs" they got for Easter and have been itching to break open. The eggs are actually like compressed sand with a dino skeleton inside that the kids can excavate and then assemble. The little mallet they provided is pretty useless, too small to use for its intended purpose, and there was a wooden wedge tool as well as a teeny brush. The kids weren't getting anywhere and getting bored, so I started in on DS3's egg, using the wedge to sort of shave the sand away. DS7 asked DH to get involved, and he used more brute force to get the 2nd one apart. :rotfl:

After maybe half an hour of fiddling with the darn eggs, then assembling the (4 - 6 pieces) parts, we are now the proud owners of two teeny tiny dinosaur skeletons! (Stoopid Easter Bunny...) :headache: :lmao:

M I K A L A H

Awww!!! Thanks guys! I will show the girl when she gets up tomorrow!!

We had a blast at the zoo, and I was so freaking glad we got there at opening! It was a mad house. You would think it was the first nice day of the year or something!:rolleyes1 :lmao: :lmao: We left around 2 or so, and the cars were lined up all the way back to the freeway! Which is FAR!! We had fun, the kids had a blast... But Alex started getting sick, so we left. He has a heck of a cough, and is really wheezy. :guilty:

We come back into Lakewood to get Mikalahs cake from Cold stone, and the WHOLE TOWN is blacked out!! No power anywhere!!! I havent seen an outage like this, well, ever. :confused3 I still have no idea what happened. We ate dinner at Famous Daves, and then came home.

:yay: Glad you had a fun day, well except for the blackout.. that's odd.. I wonder if a transformer blew up?

mmmm, Famous Dave's is a fave for us.. not many around here. YUM!

Thats what we thought. We did happen by a few firetrucks, and polices cars in a neighborhood, before we realized everything was out... I was wondering maybe someone had hit a transformer.

We LOVE Famous Daves!! We have only had one for a couple of years now... It is TOP NOTCH!!!:thumbsup2

LB?

I looked it up before and I recall that it wasn't real close..

Long Beach??

There was a rumor that MV would be getting one.. we love the one at Mall of America. We went to two other ones in different suburbs but the Mall of America one is still our fave.. we like to sit in the tables right in front and watch people walk by.

Speaking of MOA.. they have the park themed out in Nickledeon rides now. The descriptions sound really neat , I can meet Spongie's beloved Sponge Bob everyday ;)

AND I read up on the expansion.. wow! When they get it done it will be larger than the mall in Canada!
Hotel, waterpark, more shops, themed out areas, cross walk to IKEA.. gorgeous!

ummmm.. and the I35W bridge is coming along nicely, that sucker won't be falling. :thumbsup2
