Hi there....receptionist took 1/2 day off so am doin' my time on the switchboard this afternoon. I've been so-o busy lately it's actually a nice break for a change! Downside is the gigantic candy dish sitting here (bite size Snickers, Krackles, Hershey's Dark Choc, Peppermint Patties, Bit 'O Honey's, Tootsie Rolls, Mr. Goodbars, Rieson's.....and my personal favs - those blast from the past caramel things with the pure sugar centers! )

So tonite is our BIG TV nite....we watch Grey's, Survivor, The Office, Earl and sometimes ER.... DH wanted to watch the Bionic Woman last nite - and we TIVO'd the Grey's spinoff (The Practice). Anybody else catch those? Tonite is DS's den meeting...they're doing another camping thing this weekend (at someone's house) to work on more of this "Outdoorsman Badge" crap - more tent pitching, fire safety and cooking their own hotdogs & smores (cough cough I mean "cooking their own meals"). This will just be a quickie overniter for DH & DS with our LITTLE tent (or should I say leetle)?! I don't have to go!

Darned switchboard keeps ringing...sigh. Interrupting my afternoon DIS time....

sorry to hear that RJ - but I'd probably use it as an excuse to buy ALL NEW APPLIANCES! We had to replace our microwave last year - of course the model had changed and so we had to special order one that would fit the same bracket thingy on the wall which left us with a selection of ummmm...ONE! Anyway, I try not to use the stove so much but I'll bet ya it won't be long before our freezer goes on the fritz again....and the dishwasher periodically leaves a little puddle out in front of it...sometimes it has this horrid rattle & I give it a kick - if I kick the right spot it stops. Probably 'cuz of that screw I found on the floor a couple of years ago that we didn't know where it went! I would love to have a nice QUIET one tho!! Let's see - all GE appliances!! Sometime over the past year our washer had a big leak too - I just happened to be in the laundry room with the sweeper & discovered the rugs were wet - RIGHT AFTER we finished the basement - so it would've eventually leaked thru the new ceiling probably! The cycle had just started & I had to pull all of the wet stuff out & I used cups & buckets to empty the water out it! I tried really hard to get a whole new machine out of DH but ended up having to settle for a $150 repair call from Sears... But next time baby, next time I'm getting a BIGGER one! I want a big one!!

Annie: I have a built in oven and apparently it was one of the largest ever made....so my selection will probably be limited as well. It is likely to be decided by what new oven will fit the hole in my kitchen. funny, cuz I thought my oven was small....wrong again RJ

Annie - there are some folks who talktalktalk on the boards and then never appear once on board. Those people are likely forgotten. There are others that can be the topic of conversation for a long time. And la few in between. I'm sure we could all think of ways you could ensure your "immortality" if you were interested (The BeanoTimChriscam is always lurking)

Our neighbor 4 houses over is a realtor - he said there's a couple of foreclosures in the next section over of our development - houses are only about 2-3 years old He told me that on Monday, then I think it was the very next day I saw a sign up in front of one. Very sad.... I work with a girl who can't ever seem to pay her rent. I think she's about to be evicted for like the 3rd time in a year and they took her car over the summer too! This whole foreclosure thing is really sad. Some people of course got in way over their heads. So, that is their own fault. But in many cases, people lose their jobs and there aren't a whole lot of high paying jobs out there to replace them. People used to try to move but with houses not selling how far are you supposed to drive to your new job everyday? 200 miles. It is getting crazy here in S. Florida.

All these MBA grads thinking they should get $100K just out of school with no experience. They should know by now that there are 1000's of previous MBA grads with loads of experience still not making $100K.

I just found out next summer will be extra busy for the Merrill clan. Not only are we going on the B2B cruise but 3 weeks before my oldest granddaughter is getting married.
She left for Paris yesterday with 2 of her roommates from college. Unknown to her, but known to everyone else, her boyfriend followed her over there and is giving her an engagement ring. It was "officially unofficial" is why I know when they are getting married.
