Well, we found out today that my father-in-law will be requiring a triple or quadruple bypass. Surgery is scheduled for Monday. DW is really upset and DS is old enough to know something not-so-great will be happening to grandpa.

Doctor said he has a strong heart and feels confident that things will go well. Funny thing - FIL had 75% blockage of his heart, but wasn't overly affected. Just said he felt a little more tired than usual. They caught it last week when he failed his stress test at his checkup.

Hopefully all goes well and he is up and at 'em soon enough. Just thought I would post this to ask for prayers and good vibes for my awesome FIL. Thanks in advance.

I'll keep him in my prayers. Its great they caught it before something bad happened. My FIL is having prostate surgery tomorrow so I'll be thinking about them both.

::yes:: on Prayers. Hope that things go as well for him as they did for my FIL this week. He had surgery on Friday to reattach his colon, fix some hernias, and a few other things, and was told that if everything went well he might be out in a week to ten days. He was sent home this morning. :woohoo:

:thumbsup2 That's great news.
Wanted to say congrats on the early discharge, but that didn't sound right when talking about colon surgery.

That sounds like fun! The 2 hour drive down there doesn't, unfortunately. Next time get your layover in Milwaukee. From the back of my office building I can hit a pitching wedge onto runway 7. In theory. Not that I have or anything.

I've hit parked cars, moving cars, people, trees, houses, golf carts, and set off a sprinkler....odds are good I'd hit a plane somehow.

Hey Dads:

I would love to see the new POTC while we are at WDW in May, but was wondering if there is an amc right at DTD and if so, is it suggested to buy tkts in advance? Has anyone had issues getting tkts to movies there?

Finally! Someone at my skill level!

That's nothing...at one work-related tournament my partner managed to plow a ball right across a pond straight into the head of a goose, I mean you heard the crack from 40 ft or so. Stone cold dead. Worse part is everyone just assumed it was me!

So, what's the rule on that? I mean, you killed it - can you keep it? I've always wondered what canadian geese taste like.

So I had an interview for a promotion today. Everything went pretty well, and I was happy with the answers I gave. Looked good. Then at the end, I thanked all of the panelists for their time, including Debbie.

"It's Diane," she said.

:headache::headache::headache: :sick:

 im rotten with names, as some of you all ready know.:lmao: if the name dont come to me real fast, i just dont use a name.

I got my son's room primed and painted the ceiling, I was quite impressed with the spackle job (:cool1: still got the touch:banana:) 1 light coat with the taping, and a light skim coat afterwards, hardly any sanding:yay:, Guess all the Auto Body work i've done when I was younger paid off:woohoo:

now i know who to call!!!!:thumbsup2

anyone going to be in hershey pa this weekend???? ill be out the sat. for a dance comp.

All the best to your FIL. My grandfather had a quadruple bypass when I was 15 or so, and he made a great recovery and had many good years after that. I hope your FIL gets even more.

That sounds exactly like something I would do. Or have done. Maybe not quite the same situation... Let's just say getting your girlfriend's mother's name wrong is not good for the relationship. :rolleyes1

Good job! :cool1: This is a skill I haven't quite mastered yet. :confused3

Thoughts and prayers to your FIL and family. Sounds like a blessing that it was caught early. I'd say a preventative bypass is much better than the alternative!

My dad once hit a golfball into the back of a moving Jeep with the top down.:scared1: You could hear the ball bouncing around in it.:lmao::rotfl2:

I've never had it myself, but I work with a guy who has eaten about every kind of animal imaginable... He said it is nasty.

:cool1::cool1:WELCOME BACK PAT!!!! :banana::banana:

Isn't that the whole "leave and cleave" thing they talk about during the wedding ceremony. I was too busy looking googly eyed at my bride during mine, so I might not be remembering it correctly.

Of course it is... but some of us have quite the patriarch of a FIL... and marrying his little girl meant that somehow he had the right to continue his role as head of the household into my household... ummm, excuse me? While some of us have a MIL who pretty much expects to be included on any outing that the grandchildren go on... And some of have a wife whose MIL and FIL both have expectations about this holiday and that holiday, and, and, and... let me just say that moving out of state helped break that cycle fast. As long as we lived in the same state... there was no getting around it all, no matter how vocal we became. So yeah, the leaving and cleaving intent was / is there... but if you have double sets of Frank & Marie to think about... don't live across the street from them! :rotfl: Make it so they have to get on an airplane to come visit - and then need to go back home again after a week or so.

It happens to the best of us. :rotfl:

Yes, yes it does.... no what did I come in here for?

Greatness! This may deserve a spot on the front page of the thread! :happytv:

 Kinda what I was thinking

Oh my, I will definitely be praying.

Wow.
Congrats Stopher on the closing. I especially enjoyed your method using all the pics.

And I say thank you, kind sir.

20 down 230 pages to go

At the pace set yesterday, look for IX in about 10 days.

Welcome back, Pat!

Yes, it is the AMC Pleasure Island 24. You can see all of their listings, times, etc. online here Many times with big openings they do have the midnight showings on opening day. For any "big" film, getting tickets in advance is a good idea, even at DTD since many locals go to that theater. It's by the West Side entrance, near Planet Hollywood, extending down into the West Side, with another entrance across from Wolfgang Puck Cafe.

That sounds exactly like something I would do. Or have done.

Me too.

That's part of the plan, but I also want a theme that will give us more flexibility working with Pages. The rigidity with which our current theme handles Pages is turning into quite the PITA, as the site develops. I think I have a good alternative already. I just need to work on the logo-based banner graphic. One of the things I love about WordPress is that the transition to the new theme should be virtually painless.

If you want to send me some artwork, I would love to contribute and make the new banner. I have dabbled (;);)) with Photoshoop since version 4 came out, a long time ago.

But....I know my day is going to get better....my friend Johnnie Walker just arrived. ;)

I used to have a very good friend Jack, but I haven;t seen him since I has my lap-band surgery last May. He must not like the new me...

Hope all turns out well for your FIL. Prayers your way from the Coal Regions of PA.

Ditto what Steve said! I'll keep him in my prayers.

And with all the XL & XXL shirt sizes, we should all make sure we see a doctor each year, take any meds they want to give you, let them do a prostate exam & even a stress test! My DW lost her father when she was 14 to a sudden heart attack, 27 years ago yesterday. Better to find it on a stress test! Personally, I plan on walking my daughter down the isle at WDW when the time comes

AGREED! I lost my dad at 18, and do not want my kids to go through the same H E double L I did. Thinking about the important dates in my life, that my dad wasnt there, sre makes those days hard. Thankfully I have had a wonderful step dad since I was 7, and he is a great Grampy to my kids.

I've hit parked cars, moving cars, people, trees, houses, golf carts, and set off a sprinkler....odds are good I'd hit a plane somehow.

A few years ago, I took a robin out of mid air in a fairway during a scramble tourney. The best part was, we birded the next nine holes on our way to winning the tournament. I guess a bit of good karma.

Spending a nice quite weekend in good ole Reading, Pa.

I would love to meet up with any of you guys, but saturday is supposed to be a fun-filled day of soccer. Lets hope the weather holds. And then I will be going to the see the baby Penguins Saturday nite.
