This is a two-fold post. First, it serves as a bump to save us from page 2. Second, I wanna give a plug for something that I bought at WDW a couple of years ago. We went to WDW one January, and it turned off a little chilly. While I was prepared with proper clothes, I didn't have a toboggan (hat, not the sled). While we were in the Norway pavilion, I spotted a red toboggan that fit the bill. Although it has tassels (apparently a European thing), it may be the best item that I have bought at WDW. The hat is a wool/Goretex, weatherproof hat. I've worn it in a driving wind and rain and a driving snow multiple times. Water beads up and rolls off and you are dry on the inside. Yeah, it's a little pricey at $50, but IMO well worth the price. I'm saying this because it seems like everyone has been under the snow and inclement weather gun as of late. So, if you need a high quality winter hat, might want to look for one in the Norway pavilion next time you are in WDW. I think that they've added a black color too, or at least it looked like they did the last time I was there. So, there is my shameless plug for a WDW accessory.
The DIS unplugged last week had the guy ranting about souvenirs. To put my two cents in, I spent the last week looking all over WDW (except Downtown Disney) looking for a belt. I thought a practical souvenir would be great. Turns out, you can't buy a Mickey Mouse Belt. the only one they had was a plain, $40 brown leather belt (same as something from...wherever my DW buys my clothes from). I can't imagine more people need a new tie compared to forgetting a belt and needing to hold up pants for the rest of the vacation. And, my 2nd wish is to replace my Uncle Scrooge Money clip. I lost the one I got in 98, and would like a replacement. But NOPE, the only 2 offerings were a Mickey, and a WDW. Not "bad", but not what I want.I will definitely concur with this plug! They have excellent cold weather stuff there in the Norway pavilion, because let's face it, the country deals with extreme cold and snow for about 5-6 months every year. My mom was born there, so I love most things Norwegian. (My own shameless plug for it based on my ancestry!) I swear by my Made in Norway winter items! And YES, the tassels on the side are definitely a European thing.
Gotta a PIN code...and my hospital bill for the December kidney stone. Guess I won't tell DW about the PIN code.
Ah, PIN codes. How I love and hate thee. (Love 'cause i want & would use, Hate 'cause I've never gotten one, and probably couldn't use it if I did.)
