Are there any DisDads going to be at WDW the week of May 23-27? I may be in need of some golf buddies if my wife doesnt feel like dragging her clubs along. I told her the only way we go back in less than 6 months with no kids, is if the golf clubs go along. If not gofling, maybe a DisDads meet?

Too bad we can't all take a ride in the #7 jet! It would be better than RnR and ToT put together!
Anyway........HE PASSED HIS CREW CHIEF REVIEW BOARD with flying colors! He is now officially a Blue Angels Crew Chief!!!!! HOOYAH!!!! For those planning to take in a show this year, he will be working on the #1 jet, The Boss, and he should be traveling to about 1/2 of the 36 shows. He has definitely made us proud! Bravo Zulu, Son!:thumbsup2

Congrats to your son! That is an amazing accomplishment.

Thanks everyone!! I posted earlier before but was waiting on the # thing. I think I'm totally a guilty Dad now!! .

You've been # 539 for a little while now! Hope I didn't forget to post your welcome on here! Here it is again just in case:

Just got some bad news about my dad's cancer. I'm not an oncologist, but i know that if they're starting you on a drug that hasn't even been named yet, then that's not a good sign.

So, I invited him & his wifeto join us on our April trip, thinking that this may be the last time he could do that. They agreed and I couldn't believe how blessed I was to be able to change 3 nights of dining reservations from 5 to 7 people (with only minor shuffling)

But now he just called. They can't come the dates he wanted, so now I have to try to change them back & try to reschedule for later that week!!!! After I finish banging my head against this wall, I'm going to try the site again. wish me luck...

Sorry to hear about your dad, Chris! Praying that he is able to make the trip and be able to enjoy it with you!

Thanks, guys! I appreciate the good thoughts!

Fortunately, we're there for a week, & they can come the last weekend (instead of the first). Had to rely on the on-line site & the dreaded phone (all during the Eagles game!), but I was able to change around our dining reservations & book them a room in the adjacent Contemporary.

The funniest thing about this is that my dad asked, it's not a big deal to change things around is it? (no, dad, not during the busiest week of the year/Easter week, should be no problem)

So, looks like we should have a nice trip, but the schedule now is 2 colors now! My wife thinks that posting about the 2 colors will open me up to ridicule, but I think that if anyone can appreciate that Commando scheduling, you guys can!

Not a problem at all... :rolleyes1 Multiple color schedule is COOL! :cool1:

Okay, I've lurked enought, here's my 1 Disney Dollar membership fee, sign me up!

Hi Guys-

I'm making the first trip to Disneyworld in March and I have found the DIS Dad's Club VI to be an invaluable resource. Will be bring my three daughters and can't wait. My new favorite hobby, aside from watching football, is planning this vacation. I looked at the membership criteria on page 1 and it sure seems like I am a fit. Hopefully you have room for a new member.

First trip!! Take LOT'S of pictures!! It can be a bit overwhelming planning that first trip, but you've got a lot of help here. Feel free to ask anything!

You are member # 552! :thumbsup2

Congratulations to your boy for the skills and hard work required to make it into the Blues, and congrats to you for raising a man that is able and willing to put in that kind of work. :thumbsup2

Congrats Mike!!! As you know, they only take the best:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

I look forward to "bumping into him" one of these days:thumbsup2

This is a two-fold post. First, it serves as a bump to save us from page 2. Second, I wanna give a plug for something that I bought at WDW a couple of years ago. We went to WDW one January, and it turned off a little chilly. While I was prepared with proper clothes, I didn't have a toboggan (hat, not the sled). While we were in the Norway pavilion, I spotted a red toboggan that fit the bill. Although it has tassels (apparently a European thing), it may be the best item that I have bought at WDW. The hat is a wool/Goretex, weatherproof hat. I've worn it in a driving wind and rain and a driving snow multiple times. Water beads up and rolls off and you are dry on the inside. Yeah, it's a little pricey at $50, but IMO well worth the price. I'm saying this because it seems like everyone has been under the snow and inclement weather gun as of late. So, if you need a high quality winter hat, might want to look for one in the Norway pavilion next time you are in WDW. I think that they've added a black color too, or at least it looked like they did the last time I was there. So, there is my shameless plug for a WDW accessory.

I will definitely concur with this plug! They have excellent cold weather stuff there in the Norway pavilion, because let's face it, the country deals with extreme cold and snow for about 5-6 months every year. My mom was born there, so I love most things Norwegian. (My own shameless plug for it based on my ancestry! :rotfl: ) I swear by my Made in Norway winter items! And YES, the tassels on the side are definitely a European thing.

if you wait to go till june 18th, ill go golfing.:lmao: well, ive only played lake bue, and needless to say, there is alot of sand, water and narrow fairways.:lmao: they also rent clubs and shoes jason, you may want to check into that. i brought my own when we played a few years ago and i know dvc members get free rental but i would look into it. it may be easier than hauling them with you.:thumbsup2

Thanks for all the kind words, Fellow Dads! I'm still up on Cloud 9, that's for sure! I can't believe the Federalies popped in! :cool1::banana:

Crud, Beverly, peanut butter, and any other words that need to be said. Wrenched my back shoveling snow today at school (we have to clear sidewalks on snow days). Reported it to the super's office, then came home and made one quick movement while we were cooking supper and went straight to the floor. Pain was terrible. DW is a nurse, so she had me lay flat on the floor, and I got DD to get me an ice pack while I was laying there. I think that I was there for the better part of 45 minutes. Slowly and painfully worked myself to a sitting position up against the wall so that I could eat supper with my family. I'm back to standing and moving VERY slowly and gingerly but I can sure feel every movement that I make. Never had any back pain before, and man, if this is the way back pain is, I'll take a rain check from now on. Funny thing is, the only thing that I could think about was, "dang, this is gonna screw up getting to ride Space Mountain in 9 days." Down with the back and thinking about Disney:lmao: Geez................

OUCH! Just one of the reasons why I hate winter and we have snow on the way. My wife has had a stiff neck since Sunday and has no idea how it happened. She's been in quite a bit of pain but she's icing it, taking Aleve, and magnesium tablets (supposed to help for muscle tightness/migraines). I hope you're feeling better long before your trip!

Oh man! I hope you feel better quickly. I just came in from shoveling myself. We got about 5-6" today at my house. Not sure about other parts of the city, but I just stayed home today and worked here. Sat watching out my window most of the day, mesmerized. It was so pretty. And thankfully what we got was more skiing snow than snowman snow! My kids are disappointed, but that wet sloppy stuff is so hard to shovel. I love pushing powder much more than lifting wet, heavy snow. Sorry your back is in pain!
