Something About Nothing............ #14

Ah, got our luggage around 9:15, picked our rental car, by the time we got to Target it was 10 after 10. Both of us were hungry, so glad the burger place was open until 11. We wolfed down burgers and fries and a large lemonade. Came out, very full. Drove around the parking lot, as hard to see where to park, given handicap and valet take up a lot of it. But we found a spot under a light, which we prefer. Entered our room around 11:15. We didn’t even bother to take any of our 30 Target items still nicely placed in our trunk. I freshened up, and now ready for bed. Little one is in the shower. I don’t blame her, it’s always good to be refreshed after traveling. Oh, and the shower is huge.

And, we really like our room. Near the elevator, and balcony looks over the pool and green areas, and we can also see the Epcot ball too. Glad it seems very quiet. And cute welcome on the tv, as it says happy birthday to little one with a cake under her name. Packed some gifts for her, that I’ll give her tomorrow morning when she wakes up. Booked the steak restaurant for a late breakfast, as she wanted to try breakfast there, as we were not fond of the dinner we had there. At least we only have to go down in the same building to get there.

Okay, I’m not a night owl, and have been awake since 4:30 this morning. Good night all, and little one has the light on, as still in that probably nice and warm shower, so all can see the way to the loo or get that midnight snack without stubbing a toe.

Happy Friday. Another exciting laundry day for me.
Yesterday's medical visit showed that I still have a lingering ear infection. Hope that is completely gone by next Friday.
Hope Lynne and her daughter are enjoying some fun park time. I just looked at my app and most of the wait times are surprisingly low.
One week from now I should be getting ready to board my flight to Orlando.

I forgot to wish a Happy Birthday to Lynne's daughter. I hope the power outage didn't put too much of a damper on the celebration.

Football season kicks off for us today. We have a game at 4:00.

Nope, we had a great night for the party, Mac. They all came on line about an hour or so later. Watched the fireworks and the parade, and road almost all ae wanted to, plus two bags full of candy. Even better, no rain at all during the party hours. Only a downpour around 4, where we scored an inside table, and enjoyed a longer lunchtime, and rain gone by the time we left.

Lazy morning, and finally almost ready for some Epcot fun today, before a night with some TL fun. Only prediction today, is rain chances in the early evening. That’s okay, we should be in our bathing suits during when the rain to fall. Even with the rain yesterday, it’s been so muggy out here. Ah, enjoy being in shorts and t shirts.

Holiday weekend time. Yay for last Saturday in August, today.

it's still so unseasonably cool here, over a week

considering closing up the pool, nearly a month early as I don't see water warming back up
boohoo

This is Halloween, even if it is my little one’s birthday and in August:

res?

happy birthday to your DD! sweet way to celebrate

Keisha, nope and I was on at 7 that night. Oh well. Little one not fond of the menu, neither am I, hence not that sadness at missing. But we find, reservations can be found day of most of the time. In fact, the new Epcot bar was saying they welcome walk ups while we there this afternoon.

At TL drying off after pool and lazy river, and body slides done. Fun night, and no rain today either.

Good Sunday morning everyone

Safe travels to Charade, Keisha and Robo.
Thank you Lynne good to see you and your daughter got in safely.

I checked my room this morning and the rate has dropped again. I have modified my reservation 7 times. The current rate saves me $112.50 from what I originally booked. I hadn't originally planned on going to Epic on this trip, but now I'm reconsidering.
Great to hear you have had another decrease in the price of your room.

A trip to Epic sounds like a great idea.

thanks homie!

Mac it is so good to see you back posting. You have been missed.

Took her to get blonde yesterday to my girl. Was sweating it out as she mostly does mature women. She asked for & got “Barbie” lol.

Her hair looks beautiful. I righted your photo for you. She is really growing up fast. It is wonderful you get to enjoy spending time with her.

I straightened your photos for you Lynne. Castle looks beautiful. So glad you all enjoyed the MNSSHP.

Charade I hope you ear infection gets healed up soon and you feel all better for your trip.

Let’s talk about the weather……..we have had a wonderful reprieve from the severe heat here for the last week and it has been great. Upper 70’s to low 80’s during the day and low 60’s at night with humidity in the 60’s. Not the normal here, but I will take it. We really need some rain here though.

Have not been feeling the best last few days. Hoping this passes so I feel 100% for vacation. Good news is the bruising in my foot is almost gone. Will celebrate all the victories big and small.

Leaving in 7 days. Will be heading out the door for airport next Sunday morning.

I took a little time yesterday to group the things I want to take on vacation in the closet. Not sure why but I do dislike trying to make decisions on what to pack the night before I leave. I haven’t had a swimsuit on all summer so had to pick one of those…..didn’t look that good. But, what the heck.

Did see that my car rental went down. But I had already locked in the rate so could not take advantage of that. Never know when the best time for those things are. Sometimes if wait to late price goes up. Should have held out for one of the cancellation choices. Win some lose some.

I have my massage, hair and pedicure appts this week. Don’t want to look to raggedy on vacation..LOL

Pepe Le Pew is out and definitely needs to be colored.

Have a few things I want to do in the yard today.

Have a wonderful Sunday everyone doing whatever makes you happy.

After having to do some work this early morning, we then took the bus to Coronado, for some D 23 shopping. We didn’t end up with much, but we did score some cute ball caps and sweatshirt and really cool zip up kinda like a jacket, all at 40 or so percent off. Then we took the bus back to MK, and did take out lunch at Steak 71. Both of us said, we’d stick with the quick service next time. I have to say, after having steak there three times, we’d place it as a low ranked steak place, as odd cuts, and low quality steaks. Sadly, we really liked it when it was the Wave.

Then, since very cheap fast passes at Animal Kingdom, we are spending the late afternoon here, after riding the very back of Everest, second row of Dino and a 23 minute animal safari. Hence, picture to show my kid is double jointed and the second, to welcome Mac posting again:

Up next, H2O night. Again. Woot! Beautiful weather.

Welcome to September. Caspian woke me up this morning and I am waiting for him to settle back down before trying to get back to sleep. I plan to spend the day house cleaning. It has gotten severely neglected while I was sick.

My school won its first football game of the season on Saturday. Dh was ecstatic that Florida State beat Alabama.

we had a great night for the party,
Glad y'all had a good time. I hope to go to the Halloween party some day.

Sorry about the pool. I'm really enjoying the cooler weather. Too bad it doesn't extend to Florida.

A trip to Epic sounds like a great idea.
I'm trying to buy a ticket but I keep getting an error message when I try to check out. I guess I'll be calling guest services later today.

Have not been feeling the best last few days. Hoping this passes so I feel 100% for vacation.
Hope you are feeling better very soon.

My room rate has dropped again. It has gone from $152 per night to $111. I wonder how close to $100 it will get before I arrive.

Always great when you get a lower rate, Charade. Hope you get some more sleep in. Early playful cat.

Think we are doing HS today, then late bonus night at Epcot. Letting little one sleep in, as late nights we had. We enjoyed H2O more than then the D23 night at TL, less people and more fun people. By the time we got back last night, it was close to midnight.

While it gives rain chances every day, at least each time we had a down pour so far, didn’t get much wet, as ran to overhang, then shopped, or ate, until it stopped, Both were mid day. And again today, predicting thunderstorms around 11 am. We have a bag of ponchos and rain jackets. Plus, our backpack had its own rain cover. So, hoping all doesn’t have to be used, but at least the ponchos or rain jackets are not heavy in the backpack we use.

Happy Labor Day for all who work hard, we celebrate you today, having this Monday a holiday then. Woot!

Good to go day, so no park reservation needed.

Good afternoon from HS, waiting for our lunch, and here it us:IMG_4508.jpeg.

I hope you were able to get your ticket for EPIC.

Hope you are feeling better very soon.
Thank you, just coasting here to see how this go. Hopefully nothing big to halt vacation plans.

Great news on the room rates. I noticed some rate drops today.

Lynne nice photos of you and your daughter.
Heres your photo righted for you.

Looks like grilled cheese and tomato soup. What is in the other cup?

Mac hope you are doing well.

Carole you are missed on the Sans.

Another beautiful morning here again. It was 68 degrees this morning,

I put the top down on hubby’s sports car this morning and took a drive over to Cotsco and filled the gas tank. I then stopped by his favorite bakery and picked up a couple of his favorite coconut donuts for his breakfast.

He was a happy camper with his donuts.

I had lunch with daughter in law and granddaughter yesterday, We had a wonderful time visiting. We went to the Mall after lunch and did a little shopping. Then they came over to the house and did what they called a little shopping at Nana’s House…LOL

I had some Halloween decorations I was wanting to share with them and they both picked out what they wanted and each had a bag and a nice Halloween sign to take home with them.

I also made some Halloween bracelets and shoe charms to give away on this trip. So the girls picked out some Halloween shoe charms for their tennis shoes.

The rest of the day is going to be a day of rest and seeing what other things need to be done before I leave on Sunday morning.

I always make sure hubby has nice meals on hand to warm up while I’am gone and the kiddos always come by and either go out to eat with grandpa or bring a meal over and enjoy dinner and a visit.

Need to get up in my office for a little while.

Have a wonderful Tuesday morning everyone doing what ever makes you happy.

What a great time to be in the parks. Yeah, it’s hot and sometimes a rainy part, but crowds are low.

Today, we strolled into MK after lunch, no line to get in, rode Space Mountain with a walk on, Tron with a 40 minute from time we entered and left, and walked on the People Mover, 30 minutes total for Mine Train, then a fast time to get our coffee fix on the way out.

We noticed last night, coming back, that one of the car tires was low. So when we came back to hotel, we went to our car instead, and drove to the Car Care Center, and asked the Alamo lady there, if we could have our tire looked at. Told us to pull around, and a service guy would help us. He did, and put air in the tire we said showed low psi. If that low psi shows again while we are driving, we may ask them for a different car. Didn’t show when we drove back and yay, got a first parking spot. May loose it, as will be heading to the AKL later tonight, for our nighttime safari. Both of us are looking forward for night vision glasses and to see some animals at night.

Hey all, last few days have been busier than usual. Started to toss some things in basket to pack, as is my norm. Learned long ago, it’s less stressful to have those bags packed a couple of days early as some last minute something or other always tends to spring up.

SWA released their schedule thru mid May. To say I was underwhelmed would be an understatement. Wound up booking Allegiant into SFB for start of that trip in April. Going to wait it out for flight home in May. Allegiant doesn’t fly the day we want to head back.

Spirit declared bankruptcy yet again. Not only am I not going to book them again until the dust settles, can’t help worrying they may cancel our flight down next Monday. May the force be with us there.

Have not been feeling the best last few days. Hoping this passes so I feel 100% for vacation. Good news is the bruising in my foot is almost gone. Will celebrate all the victories big and small.
Indeed, get better, there are monsters waiting to chase you around.
Not sure why but I do dislike trying to make decisions on what to pack the night before I leave.
See above. I keep a bug out bag of sorts ready. Mostly, toiletries and the basic stuff one needs when away from home. The clothes vary by season & park though
have my massage, hair and pedicure appts this week. Don’t want to look to raggedy on vacation..LOL
Hair for me Friday. Ordered cuticle oil and new manicure tools, my version of mani - pedi. Have never had one, just can’t get past having a stranger poking at my hands & feet. Hair, I have no issue, go figure.
Then we took the bus back to MK, and did take out lunch at Steak 71. Both of us said, we’d stick with the quick service next time. I have to say, after having steak there three times, we’d place it as a low ranked steak place, as odd cuts
Wow. You are surely in the minority there from all I know. It’s the only restaurant we do visit every trip. The lunch club is stellar, heads & shoulders above the Plaza & less $ for it lol. The lunch steak there is strip loin, it’s ok. I’ve had it a few times, inherently a bit of a chewy cut, especially if cooked past med rare.

Dinner, nom…filet is as good as any in WDW (we’ve had them all over the years), a good $20 less to boot lol. Makes it taste just a bit better. Prime rib another good choice, as is the Salmon. The Mr says the NY Strip is good, have never had it. I always say I’m going to order the Pork Chop, people rave about it. However, the steak always wins out.

Don’t get me started on how good the chocolate cake is…i will go on & on :)
I plan to spend the day house cleaning. It has gotten severely neglected while I was sick
Seriously, it drives me crazy how that happens. Even when “they try”, you look around and marvel how they managed to get to that point.
My school won its first football game of the season on Saturday.
Woohoo! Today, we pulled out the new Steeler flag that was gifted to the Mr earlier this year. A really nice, heavy weight one. Taking a good look at it, realized it’s not the sort to slip onto the wooden pole we have. Grommets? Need to get a different pole for it or try to rig it up somehow.
Sorry about the pool.
I’m still pouting
I wonder how close to $100 it will get before I arrive.
Several of our nights dropped to $106. We were marveling over it. Of course, the weekend is double. Still, we are pleasantly surprised by the lowest rate in ages
We have a bag of ponchos and rain jackets.
I liked the idea of a rain jacket for the bookbag, never heard of that. We don’t do book bags in the parks. I’ll do a larger fanny pack @ U, big enough to hold water bottle, etc. WDW I do one of my Loungefly mini backpacks. Surprising how much they can hold.

the mr has his cargo pants. Watching him pull stuff out reminds me of how many pile out of a clown car lol.

I pack our nice, cloth ponchos, the heavy park plastic ones & then the $ store light weight ones. Even if it’s not supposed to rain, the latter make the trip. Caught one too many times in a downpour there.

We have the SPF big bucket sort of hats that are rain resistant too. I always have mine with me.

Honestly, the gear you need in the Orlando parks reminds me of going camping
Good afternoon from HS, waiting for our lunch, and here it us
That or the turkey sandwich (surprisingly good) is my order @ Woody’s. One of the few CS places that grub we enjoy. They’ve been rather stingy with the tomato soup the last few times. The totchos, i can take or leave. Won’t turn down their ‘pop tarts’ lol

Carole you are missed on the Sans.
So true
I put the top down on hubby’s sports car this morning and took a drive over to Cotsco and filled the gas tank
That sounds like fun
will be heading to the AKL later tonight, for our nighttime safari. Both of us are looking forward for night vision glasses and to see some animals at night.
Have you done it before? Most seem to like it, nice opportunity to see the animals up & personal. We have seen the vehicles roaming about many times from our various balconies there over the years. I always think to myself “…get off my lawn…” lol. It’s funny, the animals don’t blink an eye. Guess since it’s all they’ve ever known.
