Wait a minute. I thought you snowbirds never shut the schools down for something as trivial as a blizzard. :lmao:

I hate to exacerbate to KY stereotype, but that are still a few gravel roads in the county where I live. But, the city schools were closed as well. We only had an inch or two of snow here, but despite all the 4X4 trucks, people just panic when there is snow (or rain) here.

Trust me… I dwell in the same cave. But since all the windows are already busted out of my glass house, I figured that that this particular rock just needed to be tossed. ;)

Just came in from shoveling... man there is a lot of white stuff out there. We ended up with about 24''. I'll be back later and post some pictures. Time to take my DD outside and play for a little while before I have to try and drive a town over and shovel out my mom.

Hey Don.... we are going to build a igloo. I shoveled one part of my driveway into a huge pile. Now can I get my spare 37'' flat screen in there? :confused3

Oh... so you are going to make it the EASY way, are you? lol! Pics or it didn't happen :)

...there are a few hundred-thousand snow shovels...

:eek:Really??? How did they ever come up with any snow shovels down in that part of the country? There aren't even very many in the stores in Indiana, and if you need one after the first flurries hit, you're usually out of luck for the year.:rotfl2:

There is rarely a direct correlation between “where a thing is needed” and “where a thing is located”. :lmao:

Truthfully, I was trying to beat my own homeland on the head for our penchant toward panic during inclement weather. :sad2: Oddly enough, all the local hardware stores (the large and the small) actually do maintain a selection of shovels, sleds and the like just in case such conditions present themselves (and every one of them sold out their entire stock this past weekend). I guarantee that if we were to collect up all the various snow removal implements that were purchased during the panic that occurred this past weekend through out the area south of the Mason-Dixon (even if we excluded DE, MD, VA, KY & TN), we could fill the cars of a good sized freight train. :lmao:

Stopher you heading to the World in Oct? Who else is going in OCtober? We are doing the cruise either the 6th or the 13th for 3 days then at WDW for 5 nights after that. Would love to set something up for then.

Why yes, yes we are. The last week, since that's when my eldest's Fall Break falls this year.

I am new around these parts, but even I know that is it easier to ask Stopher when he will NOT be going to the World. :rotfl2:

:rotfl: :lmao: :rotfl2: Are you just too funny?!?

16 degrees tonight and 20-25 mph winds!! can someone please tell me when global warming is gonna kick in???:lmao: bethlehem steel is gone, the cement mills cant blow anything in the air anymore and all the heat is escaping into the air!! :lmao: it is nice not trying to clean cement dirt off your car anymore. that was fun, had to use vinigar water to wash your car. it was the only thing that would take it off. after you were done your car smelled like a salad.:lmao:

It is not a new vacation ticker in my sig, but it does officially give something to look forward to!

We got lucky this time we were supposed to get 14+ but ended up with another 9in, guess the extra ended up by you this time, now we probably have about the same amount on the ground:scared1: It's been 2 1/2 weeks since the big storm and most of it is still here:eek: Maybe we will see are front yards by June:lmao:

The snow ended about 1:30pm here with a few snow showers throughout the rest of the day. We ended up with anywhere from 24-30'' of snow here. It was hard to measure because of some drifting. I looked through my pictures and the pictures really don't do it justice. It is much worse in person.

Walkway to the house. The snow is up to the yellow of the handle.

Our igloo! The snow was so fluffy and the igloo was settling so much we really didn't spend much time in it.

Mel & Juliana were walking in the back of the house. It was up to Juliana's chest.

Find something to be thankful for everyday... Today, I'm thankful that I didn't have to shovel THAT. :rolleyes1

Wow. That's like what we had in Michigan the year my Matthew was born. He was born in a blizzard that dumped 3 ft in our yard - or course much more after the plows came through! :rotfl:

Amen. Me too. Only got 7 inches at my place between yesterday and today... so I'm not complaining at all.

tim, nice igloo!! the snow looks heavy.
steve, i like the new sig.:thumbsup2 your going in june, july?

I feel lucky after seeing some of these photos and only have 4 inches or so in central PA.

The great part was when I came home from work yesterday, my wife had shoveled the driveway.
