She hated those things since the day we bought this house. And I can't blame her. Original 1926 kitchen - 2 upper cabinets, 2 lower. Huge (yet very shallow) cast iron sink, and about 15 total square feet of counter space.

At 7 months pregnant with with child number 2, we decided that was the best time to remodel. She demanded the first swing!

And here's the "after" picture. The window trim still had to be put on, but we tore that room to the studs, re-insulated, new plumbing, new electric, new cabinets & counter top.

Impressive. Most impressive. And I'm glad your wife wasn't swinging the sledge hammer at you.

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!!!

We just have to make it through today and tomorrow before we can board the plane Saturday to head to our favorite place!!!!:thumbsup2

One of the really neat things about being an elementary principal is that you get to see the stuff that kids put up on the hallway walls. One of our kindergarten classes had their annual "How do you cook a turkey" assignments up in the hall for the past few weeks. Some of them are absolutely hilarious, and each day you can see people reading them and getting a good laugh. Here are 4 samples. Remember the question: How do you cook a turkey?

I'm going to go out to our garden and kill a turkey. Then, I will bring him inside, put him in the oven at 350 for 25 minutes. Then, I'll put honey on him and eat him.

I will go hunting and kill a turkey. When we get back home, I'll put him in the oven and cook him at 50 degrees for 35 seconds. Then, I'll add salt and pepper and eat him.

My dad will go hunting and kill a turkey. The way we like to cook our turkey is to cook him at 5 degrees for 24 hours.

I'm going to go to the grocery store and get a turkey. When we get home, I think that we will cook the turkey at 1000 degrees (no, that is not a typo) for 5 seconds because I like my turkey a little burny on the outside and cold on the inside. :lmao:

Ya'll have a great Thanksgiving.

Wanted to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving from the newest member of the club! I've enjoyed reading along thus far to this and the other threads, even though I'm not caught up on ALL of the threads so far...but that's the goal.

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

I hope you all had a great day with family.

To all the dad's traveling to Disney over the next few days- safe travels! We will see you soon!!!!! :yay::yay: :woohoo::woohoo: :yay::yay:

Hope Everyone had a Great Thanksgiving:goodvibes

We didn't have to go to my In-laws house till 3, so the original plan was to do the leaves, but it started to sleet then rain:lmao: So I decieded to tinker with the Stangs, Got 2 out of 3 going:cool1: Mach1 was a dead battery, convertible was a dead battery and starter cellinoid was shot (luckily I keep spare parts on hand:woohoo:) After I got the Mach 1 going a couple of my neighbors came over, seems like the smell of burnt heavy fuel lures the guys to the car, I run heavy fuel, 94 octane + Real Lead + 104+ Octane Booster, it is a smell that you don't smell everyday and will not get out of a modern car:goodvibes, after running it for about 15 minutes, I get in and rev it to red line, now running heavy fuel, with alittle over 500hp the back pressure is incredible, with the exaust cherry red from burning hot from all the octane, yeeeeeeeeeeeees blew a golf ball size hole in one of the mufflers, thinking to myself Yo import boy do that (with all the Aluminum in the imports they would most likely blow the engine 1st:lmao:) My friends that showed up were like:worship::worship:

OK have to replace a muffler ( no big deal have a lift in the garage), but this is bragging rights on the kids in the area:goodvibes

So I'm awake and not doing any shopping anywhere. Raining pretty good here in the mountains of NC. Ambulance went screaming by around 4 and woke me up , DD forgot today wasn't a school day, so her pre-set cell phone wake up alarm goes off around 5:45 and woke me up again , and our cat, when she hears an alarm, thinks it is time for everyone to get up so she gets on the bed and sits right on my chest. To make matters worse, the cat puked a hairball sometime during the night and I stepped in it on the way to the computer :scared1:. So, as you can tell, things are off to a rip roaring peanut butter Beverly start here in the blockhead house today :confused3 :surfweb:

You are a god among mortals my friend!!

Yawn… [scratch… sifff… hack, hack…]
Morning all. Glad to see we all survived the great American salute to food, football and family controversy. We spent the day ‘round the dinner tables with A-L-L… the in-laws. And I actually succeeded in not making any one mad (score one for me). I also succeeded in not overeating (score two, and no small task considering the caliber of the cooking that goes on within the ranks of DWs extended family). I only dug into the realy good stuff. Since they always divide up all the leftovers (with military precision might I say), I’ll get into all the rest of the dishes across the next week or two.

Now then… lets see what all is going on around here.

Wanted to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving from the newest member of the club! I've enjoyed reading along thus far to this and the other threads, even though I'm not caught up on ALL of the threads so far...but that's the goal.
:welcome:
Welcome to the mayhem. Just dive in and join the fray. It’s a big pool with plenty of room for more.

One word: C-O-O-L :cool2:

Sounds like a Monday. You got your weekdays all out of whack. Hopefully, the rest of the day will improve over that inauspicious start. For me, the best part of today is that I’m not at work. The only thing better then not being at work would be being at Disney (but that added benefit will arrive soon enough)

We just have to make it through today and tomorrow before we can board the plane Saturday to head to our favorite place!!!!:thumbsup2

The exodus has begun! Y’all take care on the way down and have a great time in the World. I wish we were going too, but we got three more weeks to wait. To all the folk heading down that way I hope you have great trips. Bring back plenty of pics and remember to post the really good stories here.

Ok, that's a coinicidence - we are watching Beauty and the Beast right now as well...

And we watched it this morning. I'm getting the kids brushed up on all the main movies. We've been at it for months and are now repeating the most important ones since we're only A WEEK AWAY!!!

BTW, I'm a Cubs fan too, just don't have the cool avatar.

We have been doing the same thing Chris...finishing up with Tangled last night in the theater....tomorrow is the big day..we will land in Clearwater at noon and then drive on to WDW from there......It is almost here!!

Anybody here familiar with Disney's Photopass CD? I thought I read recently that if you pre-order it you could get $50 off the regular $149 price. But I can't seem to find that offer anywhere on their site. Anyone use this service recently or plan to use it on an upcoming trip?

I pre-ordered it a few weeks ago, for $99. I know Randall posted it, I'm not sure if it was on The Dis Dad, Dec Trip or Commando thread, I'll look around to see if I can find it.

Nevermind. Found it.:thumbsup2
