Checked Googlemaps and it's only about 2.5 hrs from me so there is a good chance we'll make the trip. I hope they add some more planes.

It would be great to have a DIS Dads meet at an airshow! Can't wait to get David's schedule so we can plan this trip! :woohoo: If it doesn't work out for us, we should definitely see him the following weekend in NJ.
Mike - Thanks for the PM.

It now appears official that the Blues will not be performing at the Andrews AFB Air Show in May. They are now listed on the Web site for the Lynchburg (VA) Air Show May 21 and 22 so we made hotel ressies for that one. We'll be going as long as our son will be there with them. He probably won't get his personal schedule until next month.
Anyone else considering going to the Lynchburg show?

Hmm. That sounds cool. I'll have to see if we can make the trip.

Injured back update. Things seem to be getting slowly back to normal. Was very tender yesterday; it was a struggle to even put on a seat belt in the car. Significantly better today when compared to yesterday. Almost went for a run because I haven't gotten a chance to this week because of the weather, but thought better of it because I didn't want to slip on some random ice and re-injure everything. I did swim last night, though, and IMO that was one of the best things that I could have done simply because it was exercise with very little stress on the back.

Now for the crazy news around these parts: we're going to school on Saturday AND Monday (MLK). We are slowly running out of makeup days and winter still has a while to go, so our local board (as well as several other school boards in our area) have agreed that school will be in session on Saturday and Monday. I think the last time that we went to school on Saturday was maybe when I was in about the 4th or 5th grade, which would be MANY moons ago. So, it's gonna be an odd weekend to say the least, but at least we're slowly cutting the number of days we have to make up. I think that the majority of folks will send their kids on Saturday simply just to get them out of the house :lmao:

I hope your back continues to improve. And school on a Saturday??

:thumbsup2 wait, no eagle shirt, coat??? not even a eagle hat????

I had some Eagles gloves in my pockets. I could have put them on, but we were indoors, and I didn't want to look like I was about to rob the place.

Do you live anywhere near Newark or the new rest area on 95, I have freinds in Newark and travel there often:confused3

I'm about 30 minutes south/southeast of Newark. I don't get up there a whole lot, but it's definitely do-able. :thumbsup2

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 Great that you got a meet up! Did you coordinate on the shirts?

Great, you've completely blown our theory. Glenn posted this picture on his TR, and the women readers went nuts about our similar shirts. We figured this was a woman thing, since the only thought I gave my shirt all day was, "Hey, I didn't get any tomato sauce on it today."

Glad to hear the back is feeling better. I've been in that situation before myself... not much fun at all. I'm sure that swimming was a great idea.

I have some kind of good news:
Right now, we haven't booked anything yet, but with the pin we got in the mail a few days ago, we're strongly considering 5 nights at Wilderness Lodge the week after Thanksgiving. I've been working on some planning the past few days and will work on some more today. We're kind of split between Caribbean Beach Resort and Wilderness Lodge, but as I pointed out to her, we might as well go deluxe if we have 40% off... might be the only time we can afford to stay there. We'll probably do a couple of nights at St. Pete Beach also... because I can't completely win.:rolleyes1

It's official we are booked for August 21-27 All Star Movies (kids stay & play free deal, saved over $400 plus got a perfered room)

:cool1::banana::woohoo::yay::dancer:party:
 congrats ron!!! we are gonna be missing each other. im going june and september.

Hmm. That sounds cool. I'll have to see if we can make the trip.

I've never stayed at CBR, and I'm sure it's great. But WL is awesome. We did the 40% off thing too, figuring that was our only shot at staying there.

OOPS! It appears my DW and I jumped the gun on the Lynchburg Air Show trip in May! We may have a major, but memorable, conflict that weekend that will keep us from traveling down to VA. If that's the case, the first chance we will get to see our son in action will be Memorial Day weekend in Millville, NJ. Standby for future updates! :confused3

Mike...let me know if you might come down for the Jacksonville Air and Sea Spectacular--I can make things a little "easier" for you...LOL

I'm not asking for myself, but the town next to mine a Police Officer was slain today around 4:15pm. The location in Lakewood NJ is about 7mi from my house. My wife and son passed the spot on the main road within 5-10 mins of the shooting. On my way home from work I pass within a mile from where it happened and was passing through about 10mins after (huge police activiy cars with lights on passing everywhere:scared1:)

No details have been released on who or what happened, but I Pray the Officer has no children, I hate to see a family broke up because of something scenseless. No family should ever have to go through this. The Officer was doing his (or her) job, I hope the party invoveled is caught and brought to justice. My Prayers are going out to (his or hers) Family:littleangel:

That is horrible... will be saying a prayer for him/her and the family.

Glad your family is safe.

Thanks, Fed! It's very doubtful we'll be hitting Florida this year but maybe next year. We were just looking at our options for this year: Millville, NJ; Rochester, NY; Boston; Pax River, MD. That's about it.

Mike, you got to let me know the time and date in advance, I hope we can make it (being the Ice guy it's a tough weekend to get off) My son would Love to see them, I just hope I can pull it off:goodvibes

Since I have page ownership all I ask is to Pray for the Slain Officer's Family

Well, normally at this time, I'm getting ready to go out for my normal, Saturday 6 or 7 mile run. Today, I'm getting ready for school:scared1: Don't know what kind of crowd we'll have today, but I'm betting that it will be more kids than most are expecting for some reason. For some it will be get the kids out of the house so we (husband and wife) don't have to hear the commotion :lmao:

My oldest dd turns 9 today. Basketball games today and birthday parties tomorrow. (Yes, I have to miss NFL games.) Long night of Upwards basketball practice. I coach both my girls teams, and have back to back 1 hour practices. Then, they introduced skills night last night and did not have enough coaches, so I stayed and helped with skills night as well. I am tired.

The DW said she'd like to plan a vacation this summer NOT do WDW (I know.... what's wrong with her?). ...
But the kids are 8, 6, 4, and 1 this August, so any suggestions on vacations?

Disney also has a resort at Vero Beach. It is 219 points for 1 BR and 284 for 2 BR for a week. You could get a 1 BR since your youngest is under 3. Another perk of Vero Beach is that the resort is only 2 hours away from WDW. We did not do it, but we had friends last year stay at Vero for Fall Break and then go to WDW for MNSSHP and then back to Vero that night. If you can't do Vero, maybe another beach hotel on the Atlantic close to WDW, and you can talk them into driving in for a day.

Commando,
Millville is Memorial Day weekend (Saturday the 28th and Sunday the 29th). We're guessing our son will be there either way (working or his "home show"). If he is there, we will probably drive down both days, especially if it's his home show, but that's not for certain.
Hey, maybe this would be a good time for the DIS DADS meet!
