Fed - there are 8 of us (so far) that will be there roughly during the first full week of December. As far as I know there are two (GoHerd and Cinderella's Fella) going to be there the week before.
I know for sure that myself, that's nice, and stopher1 will be down there next week. Possibly someone else, too, but I can't recall.

Yep - DW & I will be on a plane not too far from final approach into MCO at this time next Wednesday. So 8 days from now... can't wait to get to the Wilderness Lodge.

I pick DD up from pre-school on Thursday at 3:15 (Central Time). By the time we get home, DW should be home from work and we hope to be on the road by 4:00. We'll have sandwiches packed for dinner and stuff packed in the cooler for breakfast on Friday. We're planning gas/potty stops every 250-300 miles (or when DS or DW say they have to go. DD seems to have an iron bladder :thumbsup2) DW and I will drive in shifts. We'll grab lunch to go at one of the gas stops and hope to be pulling into Grandma & Grandpa's house in Lakeland sometime Friday afternoon.
Last time we made the 1260 mile trip in 22 hours. Cross your fingers for a favorable tail wind...:cool2:

Man, you guys are hardcore. Almost down to 48 hours...

I remember when I was down there in July there was a rumor that Disney was looking for a new sponsor for Test Track as GM was in such financial trouble.

In light of Toyota's quality issues...wouldn't it add a certain excitement to the ride...will the accelerator stick??? will the brakes fail???:eek: BOTH????:eek::eek: Is my car a Prius! :scared1:

:lmao::rotfl2:

Outside of Disney, I did almost get killed by Reggie Jackson one time. We were in Cooperstown, NY at the baseball Hall of Fame in '99 when Robin Yount, Nolan Ryan and George Brett were inducted. I was on the sidewalk, crossing an ally, when a big black sedan comes flying down the street and cuts into the ally. I had to jump out of the way. Sure enough, Reggie is driving. He was late for an autograph signing where he was charging $20 for a signature. I don't care what anyone says about him, he's a class 1 ****** in my book.

Plus there's the time he tried to kill the queen of England. "Must..Kill..The Queen":lmao:

Chuck is displaying his strength dangling upsidedown with his toes while holding 2 balls that equal to his total body weight each. Drum roll...

Tada!!!!

I'm just impressed that he's able to lift his heavyweight balls OVER HIS HEAD! :scared1:

That HAS to be uncomfortable when he goes for his morning run.

:lmao: i just seen some where the amount that gm pays per year to sponsor the attraction. :confused3 i forget how much it was but i was shock at how much it was. the story was written because the contract runs out soon. they also were saying how the hummer and its merchandise were removed from the attraction and of course the saturn they had on display. i think they said there is a buick and a few chevys anymore.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EQ-mfRQhC8M nate, i dont know if you went to epcot in the 80s but this is what was in the test track ride before test track. its funny, i use to buy the wdw book, hard cover every year and the attractions that are in the first year book of epcot are no longer there or the same. metlife, comunicor, horizon,gm,seas, land, figment even spaceship earth was changed a few times. comunicore had a show in it and it was "io", who explaned a little how a computer works and how it ran epcot.

I'm so fed up that I'm going in October and you guys are down there in dec...a night at the ESPN bar with the a team would have been great. now me and the mrs are already talking about next years trip and its going to be last week of Nov and the first week in dec.....bet you have next years in October.

now i have a list of the most famous people i almost saw in disney....2008 i was there with dw (to be )and dd and we were in epcot....could not believe how easy we were getting on to test track and sorin...park seemed empty. found out later that bill Clinton had been giving a speech up at the American section of WS and everyone except us was there watching. we were in the MK park the same day as tom hanks ( according to a CM ) and never sore him once. i have seen Paul burrell in downtown disney but as i think very little of the tow-ragg then he don't count.

When in October are you going again? I'll be at the Poly from the 2nd through the 8th. We're not actually heading back until the 9th, but we're staying that last night on Starwood points at the Swan, to avoid the Columbus Day weekend rate bump (and non-applicability of the room discount PIN code we used to book).

I went to Epcot in 1987 for the 1st ever trip. I think I noticed some changes, although, I have a hard time remembering what I ate for dinner an hour ago.

December sounds great, but I go in October every year. With dds (8,5), we get a Fall Break in October and vacation then. Dis Dads will just have a Memorial drink for us. :drinking1

The most famous person I saw....I have two:

1 - Frank Caliendo - the comedian

2 - EmmasDad aka Don!

I think that Don was the most famous of the two. He seemed so down to earth.:lmao:
And to think, I haven't even met Dave (Zerfs) yet and we only live 8 miles apart! :lmao:

Yeah...I went to EPCOT like the second year it was open. I remember the World of Motion...I remember the Land Boat ride had live tour guides...and I actually like Figment (nerve-rackin little purple demon). I remember Body Wars...I guess the Living Sea was what I remembered most. Epcot didn't hold alllot of apeal to me

Watch a video of Horizons and you'll hear the "Great Big Beautifull Tomorrow" song.
